This is an excellent question and I can tell you want is expected of a team leader because I am one and have be for years.

1. Team leaders are expected to empathize with their network. This means that when an affiliate writes to you asking for assistance that you remember what it was like when you were coming up through the ranks. Never forget where you come from and always try to take as many along with you all the way to the top.

Becoming a leader, means being committed to your affiliates. Set the example of the kind of leader that you want to be.

Do what you say you will do. If you are running a contest, make sure that you give the prize as soon as you know who has won. Be a person of integrity.

Do what is right, even if it means a cost to you. Being this way will always come back to you and in ways you won't even expect.

Hello Evrad,

I think you mean an EA, when you say “besides the requirement to qualify”. Yes, after the first month you can become qualified as an EA. But the real change starts at the beginning of second month. But by then are awarded by rating your sponsor with 10 VPs and 2 CSAs.

1. Try your best to contact with them by email, phone or Instant Message & send the Welcome Message as suggested by SFI in the profile page of the CSA.

The expectations of becoming a team leader come from yourself. What sort of a leader do you want to be?

Do you want to be a positive, constructive, dynamic, creative and effective leader?

As a Team Leader you should:
1) Have a strong Commitment
2)Send a warm welcome to all new psas and csas as soon as they join
3)Communicate with them on a regular basis
4)Answer their questions, concerns in a timely manner
5) Be available to assist in any way you can and always remind them you are there for Them
6)Teach your team to do as you do - Duplication
7)Encourage your team
8)Congratulate your working members on a job well done
9)Continue to Learn

Qualifying as a team leader is just an entry criteria. What needs to happen after is not only important to you as a leader but its equally important, if not more, for the members who are a part of your team.Leading a team in SFI is not significantly different than leading a team in your office environment. Both require the same time,effort and empathy. The only difference is physical Vs virtual That also is undergoing a change as more and more leaders are managing business virtually.

To avoid disapointment, further educate yourself as a leader to become an awesome sponsor/leader.They say if you were educated yesterday, and don't read today ,you will be a fool tomorrow. The task of leadership is so crucial you can't afford to be foolish or keep making stupid mistakes. Its a position that needs more than trial and error.

For some affiliates, team leader is just a title or a badge. For others, like myself, it is a leadership role, the chance to help others.

It would be a good idea to first ask yourself, "What would I love to see in MY team leader?".

1 - Set the example by what you can show that YOU have done already as a team leader. This is the major reason why SFI provides the Badge System.

2 - Try to always include something in your messages that will be of value to them in building their businesses.
