My most successful affiliates are from a country where English is not the norm and yes, we have in some cases had difficulty communicating.

I check on their VP ledger so I can see where they may be missing something and if I see a gap I try and bring it to their attention as soon as possible.

The minute I pick up that an affiliate is struggling to communicate his/her needs to me, I refer them to the translator available on SFI. I also try and keep the English simple and refrain from using big complicated words.

Remember, we may think our answer is simple, doesn't mean they are able to understand it. Many years ago I learned this lesson when I called someone cute, they went to the dictionary and came back to me indignant that I had basically told them they were cheeky!

Also keep in mind that professionalism is key, what may be appropriate in the USA, may not be in Asia or Africa.

I think many people have the same problem.

Good communication is crucial, you really need to be able to assure your affiliates that SFI has a great earning potential for themselves in the near future. Which is true, off course. Other than that they need to know the purpose of them joining SFI. For instance, do they plan to open an ECA store and sell products at TripleClicks or plan to grow a team.

In order to make people understand that, here is what I think you should do:

- Using translation programs will help, but even more helpful would be if you had any background knowledge of that particular language whatsoever.

- If not, then really you should try to keep it as simple as you can. Write very short, direct sentences, so you can avoid any big possible grammar mistakes. You should also try to communicate through email messages, not via live chat.

- At the end, if some language is too difficult to translate even with the all helping programs available, than the English is the only real solution. Everyone knows at least some basic English words. Stick to that.

Learning the major business languages of the world is a very good start – English, Spanish, and French. This however is not possible for most of us. Even learning 1 second language can be quite challenging. It took me years to learn English.

If you consider learning another language for business purposes, I would recommend learning a language of the region where you do most of your business. For example if you do a lot of business in North America, knowing English and French would be a distinct advantage.

SFI has provided us with several means and tools to communicate with those people that do not understand our language. Some of these are:
- Country/Region forum where they can use their own language if they prefer, rather than English.
- A2A. People of the same language can become A2A friends and communicate with each other in their language
- Reassignment. You can reassign people that do not speak your language to others within your team that speak the same language

The focus of the above is to facilitate communication with affiliates, not necessarily from you (sponsor) but via other people within SFI.

If you prefer dealing directly with those who do not speak your language, use the online translators. Prepare your message in English then translate it into the recipients’ language. Translate it back to English to see if it says what you want to send. Once you are satisfied, then send the message in the recipients language.

Ensure that your affiliates are aware that each page of the SFI website can be translated into their preferred language by using the translator at the bottom of each page. Just click and select their language and the whole page will be translated.

You can also send audio messages. Prepare the message in advance and have someone who speaks the recipients’ language record your audio message in that language. Then send the message. Check that your translator’s accent can be easily understood by the recipient.

I have used a translator that I found online. There are a few you can choose from. Bear in mind they do have flaws to one degree or another, but you don't have to take time to learn the language. You can speak to your team who either does not speak your own language or speaks very little of it. You can encourage them also to use an online translator when communicating with you.

Another way to overcome the language barrier is if you have CSA's that speak another language than your own is to use the CSA exchange. Exchanging CSA's who do not speak your own language should gain you some who do. This is a win/win/win situation because you win, they win, and their new co-sponsor wins.

Well first everyone who start work can translate every page on SFI.
To make comunication more easy you can use translate programs,they are not always accurate
but they can help a lot.
And one more thing that is very important is to be prepared for that.
For example if you want to try win auction with some PSA,before you start with that
make sure you found some video guides for some common questions.
New member will need to finish registration first and for that,there is video on every language
on youtube.
And with all that,you make sure you have video guides about some advices,how to
finish daily actions,weekly and monthly.
You cant learn five more language for this job,but there is some other ways you can train and
prepare you new member to success here,even if you cant understand each others.

You have the translate tool - it is not always accurate but it is better than ignoring an affiliate because you do not speak the same language. You can make sure it is the best possible translation but it is time consuming - so keep communications like this for future use as well.
The translator tool works best if you use short simple sentences.

The 1st prize and best way in my opinion to overcome that barrier is if you re-assign them to another affiliate in your team.

Before you start re-assigning first take a look at the affiliate you are entrusting them to.

1. Is the person active? (a mover) - re-assigning is only valuable if the new sponsor is going to
help his / her new PSA
2. Do they actually speak the same language or do they just live in the same country?
3. Is the new sponsor able to understand English better than the ones you are re-assigning? If
they do not understand either it is like telling a blind person to lead a team of blind people
across a minefield. - it is not of any benefit to anybody.
4. Make every person involved aware of what you've done and why you did it.

This world has many, many languages. It is impossible to learn them all. Many of us speak and read one, and have studied one or two, but we are still very limited in communicating with the rest of the world.

Thankfully we have translators that we can rely on. But even the best ones can fail us due to the complexities of our languages. In fact the English language not only makes need of a dictionary, but of a thesaurus, also. A thesaurus is a compilation of all the words that mean the same. While a dictionary tells all the different meanings of a word.

With multiple words having the same meaning and multiple meanings for the words, it is easy to see why translators do not always work. Another upset in the system that I have found is that many people do not put that space between a period and the first letter of the next sentence. This confuses the translator which reads it as one unknown word. One must then put it back into the translator an insert the space which allows the translator to complete its job. The last wrench in the gears is the use of idioms, or local expressions that just don't translate well.

To overcome all this we must use our words carefully.
1. Use those words which are simplest so that they may carry the meaning that you intend.
2. Use correct grammar.
3. Use spell check or a dictionary.
4. Think out what you want to say and how it might be heard. Make sure you say what you
mean.
5. Write your message in your language and proof read it.
6. Send your message both in your language and in the language of the intended reader.
7. If you have a group of affiliates speaking one language, translate your team mail and send it to
that group, along with the copy in your language or in English.
8. Use English as much as possible since that is the official SFI language and of the business
world.

We now have some interesting options with SFI, that can facilitate communication between affiliates. We have a country and regional room in the Forum where we may use our own languages.

We also have the options to release our foreign CSAs into an Exchange Pool so that they may be co-sponsored by someone from their own country in exchange for CSAs from our own. We may also reassign our CSAs to our downline. We have several reasons to do this, one being, again, to pair affiliates speaking the same language.

This is also one reason to reassign your PSAs to other members of your team. In each case the aim is to strengthen the ability of everyone to understand what is being said.

Some good ways are:
1. Identify the language of your recipient. Trying to locate the language at times can be confusing. I've experienced it before.
2. Use the google translator at your SFI homepage.
3. Evaluate the person's level of English. There are some who will know the basic forms of English. You can begin from there.
4. You can also learn if possible the basic form of the language of the person you are trying to communicate with. This will even build your rapport even more.
5. You can ask for an interpreter if possible. May be you have friends or family members who know the language in question and ask for their help.
6. Ask the person in question to use the google translator at his/her affiliate center to pick his/her language that way you can communicate better.

Chinese or India or even any country's sales product mostly can be found from almost every parts of the world today. Their big reason is, they learn communicating in each other's languages. That's it..! They commit themselves to try and to learn. Daily practices makes perfects gradually..

Now.., come back to our online studies within SFI, how we commit ourselves to push our business towards success.

SFI is an truly international company. What are some good ways for overcoming the language barrier when trying to communicate?

That's a nice question because answers to this will really help many Affiliates from different countries to solve this language problems. This can be solved with the following few ways :

1) Use Google translate available at the bottom of each page to convert the English language to the language of your PSA or vice versa that means let him use Google translate tool to understand in his or her own language.

2) Make a2a friend of the same language speaking affiliate. This is how I understood SFI in a better way.

3)Use reassignment tool to directly to same language speaking senior affiliate. This will solve the problems altogether.
