For those people, it will take a long time usually to convince them to change their methods. You might succeed in changing their minds, but unless you can show them a product that they want but can not get locally, you will have to do a lot of convincing.

The best way to get them interested in our business is to make a plan. There are no first and second points. They are both first and second. It goes in a circle. The two points are:
A. Recruit PSAs from a certain locality. Promise them that you will have local ECA stores that they can buy from in person as they are used to doing.
B. Refer businesses from that locality to become ECAs that offer LocalPay local pick-up. Promise them that you will have customers for them.

Encourage both PSAs and ECAs to advertise for more customers(PSAs or PRMs) and more local businesses (ECAs) to join the co-operative (your local SFI/TC pocket). You as the Sponsor can offer advertising Co-ops for the PSAs and encourage all of them to advertise their local ECAs.

As the local economy gets better because of this, your people will be more willing to reach out over the internet.

Change is sometimes difficult for people to adapt to or accept, they are wary about it (fearful) and it takes time to try something new. Very often it may not necessarily be that they are not comfortable with online purchases but the site from which they have to purchase is not a very well known site and this brings in a certain amount of caution.

The question of whether to trust the site and what happens in the event that they make a payment and it is not honored or what is the possibility that the product they have purchased will arrive in their country.

Before I started making purchases on TripleClicks, I had made online purchases from another site and was therefore conversant about the process but I was still hesitant to purchase from members who I did not know. This can create trust issues which prevent people from purchasing online.

However, having been purchasing online for over a year I have a better idea of the procedures and time frame within which purchases one makes will be delivered. I am therefore in a position where I can pass on my positive views to other people and guide them. I usually give them these points to consider:-

1. In case of difficulties with your purchases, there is a great support system which will help you with your queries and resolve whatever issues you have.

2. Problems with regard to payments that are out of control of the site but relate to your own bank can be dealt with directly with the bank. You must make sure your card with which you purchase must have sufficient funds

3. Get the people to make a small purchase involving a small amount of money. That way the risk of losing a lot of money is not high - this can be a trial purchase which will give the person the confidence to order online. This is how they will start trusting the site and change their buying patterns.

Mostly, you need to guide the people and let them know that it is safe to purchase online especially if you have already bought online and received your goods in time.

- In countries lagging behind the digital technology, you may have to refer people to their local ECAs through the LocalPay Directory. Provide them with TC Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy and ECA Rating, License type (TCurrency/Basic). They could even pick up the product with the “Will Call” option. By doing this, you’re establishing the credibility and giving them their first impression of TripleClicks. Location is still important, of course, and many buyers prefer to purchase from sellers whose physical stores are near enough so customers can seek product support if necessary.

- In the case people are concerned about a financial commitment to a product they have not yet received. One way to combat this fear is by offering free returns, but you need to make sure they know the details.

One of the advantages this business has is the fact that it’s an international business. It is not limited to territories and by boarders. Those people who live in those countries where people are not yet comfortable to online purchases and payment can successfully conduct their SFI businesses internationally.

To get them involved and active in SFI I would recommend that you promote the international nature of the business – the number of countries where affiliates come from, the number of products TC has, the number of SFI affiliates and TC members there are, the number and location of ECAs.

If you are targeting a particular country, say your own, mention the current number of PSAs and ECAs in your country. Promote your local ECAs. Have a look at testimonials that have been completed by your countrymen and use those.

If you get enquiries about Triple Clicks and how it works, remember it’s most likely because of their lack of confidence in purchases and payments online. Explain the system to them well. If you have made online purchases from Triple Clicks yourself, use your experience as an example.

Let the people know that this is a legitimate business and provide them with the facts and figures to back up this claim.

They are not comfortable with online buying because they know that there is a lot of fraud on the internet.

The country might not have the advance technology needed and that is why they are not using it as often and as easy as you might be doing.

You need to address their fears, concerns and lack of knowledge.

Explain to them how to do transactions online with the minimum risk. There is always risk but we can minimize it. Teach them what is risky, what to look out for.

You might have to explain to them step by step how to do an online transaction.

Once you've addressed their fears and concerns they might be willing to start small and start buying small things until they are more comfortable.

They can start getting used to the idea by using their MRP's to buy T-credits - no risk.

Not known to many that this is one of the biggest problems why people from third world countries can not involve and be active in SFI.

The problem is not just that they not comfortable in doing online purchases but some countries are not allowed to do on-line purchases.

Part of our task as sponsors is to find out first what are the available method of purchasing from the country of our affiliates.

The good place to start is to find out if Paypal is available in their country because it indicates that Credit Cards from that country is also accepted to be used online. The last resort is through Local pay vendors in their country.

Once you find out how they can transact online your next job is to educate them how to transact online. Show them how to use Credit cards if they have credit cards. How to fund their Paypal and how to buy Tcredits from Local pay vendors.

The best way to teach them that can give them confidence to do the transaction online is to do it your self in your own account. take a screen shot of every step and use it as your tool for teaching.

This usually is the case most especially in under developing countries where:-

1. They don't trust the electronic purchase and payment system

2. Fear of being scammed and cheated by fraudsters and identity thefts

3. Non transparent transactions that give rise to doubt and mistrust

4. Non delivery of goods being ordered, which brings about distrust and believe of the company.

5. Lack of understanding on how online purchases and payments are made.

For us to assist such customers, we ourselves must be:-

1. An ECA, where we have a physical shop address displaying products of Tripleclicks as well as personal goods.

2. Willing to explain how electronic payments and purchases work

3. The suppliers used, must have a good rating in supply and delivery system

4. The efficiency, reliability and integrity of postal services

5. Good networking and electronic system of the countries involved.

6. Purchased items must be covered by insurance to compensate the suppliers and the buyers should any loss occurred.

7. Efficient and trustworthy credit facilities provided by banks or financial institutions.

8.The government must have regulatory control on online purchases and payments.

Also, with the help of SFI, it has indeed made it easier for purchases to be made on tripleclicks via ECA. The ECA in question, will sell their own goods as well as that of SFI products or products being listed in the store.

ECA in each country has a huge role to play as they will ensure customer can:-

1. Pay in their own local currency

1. Payment Gateway;
2. Payment Processor;
3. Payment Provider;
4. Payment Service or Payment System; and last, but not the least
5. Merchant Account.

Though each of the above terminologies is distinct, though with subtle differences, they all refer to a company, service, or application that acts as a financial middleman between your website and your customer, and between both of you and your bank accounts. Each facilitates the completion of online transactions, and the processing of online payments. Now, let's take them one-by-one:--

1. Payment Gateway: This is a service that receives the online payment request from your website and directs it to the payment processor.

2. Payment processor: This is a service that validates the purchaser’s credit card details (e.g., those of your member, donor, or supporter) and checks if they have sufficient funds in their account to cover the payment. If the customer has sufficient funds, the transaction is authorized, and the funds are transferred from the customer’s account. SFI is not only about on-line business presence but is also about off-line (in person) business too.

SFI is a universal program and is not locked into only being accessible via on-line. SFI is a collaborative business built on the joined effort of all affiliates.

It would be important for such affiliates to connect with local businesses who are part of the ECA program or even connect with affiliates who live locally so that he or she can participate in recruitment or SFI discussions with others in their own community, City or even country.

It is human nature to excel when we are part of a group that we can identify with - so encouraging or creating local connections with others will be of importance for affiliates who may not have access nor able to afford technology to be on-line on a regular basis.

Also be sure to share the marketing and promotional strategies that SFI has developed for us which require direct mail, face to face meetings, or distribution of postcards and flyers...even the use of SFI clothing items can be used - all of which do not require web presence.
