Team building is indespensible if you want to be successful in SFI so, do it as much as you can and as much as you can afford.

Do both if you can. Your choice however, will depend on the following:

1. Your skill on online advertising - If you are knowledgeable in online advertising, then do it yourself but If you are not knowledgeable on how to do it, better buy from a reliable seller.

2. Source - If you know a good source, then do it yourself, but, If you do not know where the good sources of affilaites are, better buy.

3. Funds - if you have funds then do both, but if you have limitted funds follow guidelines 1 and 2.

4. Time - If you have plenty of time to learn online advertising and to do research and testing for good sources of affilialiates then do it yourself but if you have little time then just buy.

Many affiliates have asked the same question when it comes to obtaining referrals. I would have to say whatever works best for you is what you should put your efforts into.

Buying PSAs (Personally Sponsored Associates) can bring in new affiliates usually faster than advertising unless you are good at it. I keep a standing order of one unit of S-Builder so I have fresh new affiliates coming in every month. And sometimes I purchase “PSAs to go.

In purchasing affiliates you have a faster chance of building up the size of your team. The affiliates obtained through purchasing come without any guarantee – no one knows if they will be workers or lookers.

When using your own advertising it is good if you have some patience because if you’re not an export in advertising it will take a while for you to learn how to get sign-ups. When you are advertising it is easy to get “hits” (people looked at your ad) but not so easy to get the sign-ups.

To reach the upper levels in SFI and TripleClicks it is imperative that you learn to run good pulling ads worded in such a way to filter out the “lookers” and gain more of the workers.

While you are learning to run good ads or saving to use paid ads it would be a good idea to do as I have done and set up a standing order of S-Builder at least one unit. By doing this you can now purchase unlimited “PSAs to Go” for only $1.99 each.

By following what I just suggested you will be building your team while you are learning to run quality pulling ads.

If your niche is in advertising by all means this will be better than buying PSAs. For most of us that have little or no experience in advertising it will likely come with some trial -n- error and a degree of disappointments along the way.

Take the advertising bull by the horns and learn all you can. Make friends with other successful SFI Affiliates via a2a and the Forum. You can learn from them but not to the exclusion of studying all SFI material on this subject. You want to have a good return on investment. If you find an ECA that is providing you PSAs that are giving you an excellent return on investment you can run these through your Co-op.

In due time with much effort you will develop methods and align with resources that work well for you and your team. Just keep your sites on your goals and don't give up on fulfilling your dreams.

You can rapidly acquire a large number of affiliates by buying PSAs and it’s also the same with advertising if you are financially well resourced.

The number of PSAs you acquire is really immaterial – it’s how you sponsor them that matters. If you are not a good sponsor, regardless of how they signed up, they will most likely leave smartly or remain on the book inactive. You will want to build an active team and this is where your sponsoring skills come in.

Doing your own advertising and recruiting affiliates does have an advantage over buying PSAs. With buying PSAs, you get what you get.

With advertising however, you can target prospects that you think are likely to make good and active team members using as criteria for example - language, countries, age, gender, occupations, combinations of these etc.

In other words you have more control over who you are recruiting.
I favour doing my own advertising.

Each activity is a list building activity.

If you buy PSAs they join SFI and my years of experience show, they do nearly nothing. I did not start getting PSAs active until I realized that. It wasn't until I realized that PSAs joining SFI from advertising where not joining my team but joining my list, my SFI list.

This include both activities, personal ads and purchased PSAs.

When I realized I am building an SFI list much changed. First when I purchased PSAs I received them into my Genealogy, but I treat them as prospects. I continue to sell the opportunity rather then try to train them.

In my personal advertising I seek to engage in list building efforts instead of trying to get people to join as PSAs. I provide training valuable to anyone who wants to work on-line and all my training I contextualize to SFI.

For example I send out a letter on a website called Alexa.com This website monitors the ranking of all websites on the internet. I explain how to use the information they offer, how to evaluate your own website and why it is all important. Then I share with them the alexa ratings at TripleClicks and how marketing their online products there will help their business.

This way I have people becoming PSAs who know why they want to be one. They are entering SFI with expectations that are not just, "I want to be Rich". They also enter with an idea of what is involved in SFI and how it is done. I have found this to produce much better qualified PSAs for my team.

I do both.

I like that I am able to connect with those who I may have direct contact with and custom fit advertising to areas that I know.

I like that I am able to purchase PSA's from other sources so that I am able to leverage the knowledge of others to grow my down line and grow my SFI business. Buying the PSA's provides me opportunity to reach people that I would have never through about or have any knowledge about due to differences in culture, language, or what is valued by he/she.

The more I do for myself in addition to leveraging what others are doing to recruit PSA's I am guaranteed growth every month.

This is a diversified portfolio for growth and I prefer to not just "place all eggs in one basket" but using a blended advertising campaign growth method, I am guaranteed that I will have consistent, steady and sustainable growth month after month.

Both are truly worthwhile strategies to use.

I am personally doing both.

And I think, nearly every affiliate is doing the same.

Sponsoring is so critical to our success with SFI. We should use all the opportunities available to us to build our teams as strong and as large as our resources allow.

First, we all take part in the Pricebenders auctions.

The mere act of bidding makes buyers of PSAs, and now we can get up to four PSAs per day. If we were to buid everyday all we can, that would be around 120 PSAs per month merely through the auctions.

In addition, Tripleclicks offers now a very good deal in buying single PSA, without even talking about the big PSA packages.

Second, both through the ECA stores and outside, one can find good deals in guaranteed sign-ups. I have used their services. In such cases, I prefer to start with very small packages that are not too expensive. This allows me to test the quality of what they deliver.

Third, it is unquestionably vital to directly advertise and prospect for sponsoring affiliates.
From my standpoint, this is the only way we can have a direct and meaningful impact on the quality of the PSAs we sponsor.

We all are fully aware of the issues surrounding Affiliate activity or the lack of there off.
Inactive affiliates are a major concerned to every SFI Team Leader.

Although we cannot eradicate this problem by only sponsoring active affiliates, we can still minimize it by focusing our advertising and prospecting on quality over quantity.
We cannot do that just by buying affiliates.

We can do it only through our personal advertising and prospecting.

However, we should combine both sponsoring methods. I have active affiliates that come from both.

I believe both are important.
Buying PSAs sounds like a more direct option, but as you know, only a very small percentage of those PSAs will be active, and thus lead to real team building.

Investing in your own advertising will probably be more costly (in the beginning) and slower to reap benefits, but once it gets going, it may be better than just buying PSAs. For one, the PSAs you will get by direct advertising will probably be more active, as they may be people you have some kind of connection with.

If you are doing newspaper, or online advertising, then you should be clear about SFI and make sure prospective PSAs understand that this is not a "get rich quick scheme", but an investment of time and money. That should help you sign up PSAs who will be more engaged.

Therefore, while both are important, I think that doing your own advertising is best!

My answer to this question is “do both.” In this business, no effort is wasted. Whether you are doing your own advertising or buying PSAs, the end result is to build your team and grow your business. Which ever way that happens is always welcome.

When promoting your business, apart from helping to sell your own products, or selling the products of other affiliates to get commissions, you can also get some PSAs enrolled. That way, you build your team through your own promotional efforts. If you buy PSAs, all well and good and that helps build your team too. Getting PSAs is what helps your team building efforts and not how the PSAs were received. For that reason, whether you do your own advertising or you buy PSAs, so long as your team building business is growing as a result, that is what counts and nothing else.

This subject is very interesting as we do need to conduct sponsoring and sales..

So, indeed.. we do need to advertise daily too. We need to learn how's our ads progressing. We may need to fine adjust from time to time.

Work with the worker also brings in the meaning of working with an effective advertising.

About the Buying of PSAs, this helps a lot too.. Especially when some of us has limited time due to hectic shedule in managing two duties.

Effective for newbies who just started testing their ads or if we found our ads doesnt produce a best result, so that's when Buying PSAs comes in handy.
