By having team members take on leadership role, their team members can help set a direction for the rest of the team; they help their affiliates see what lies ahead; they help their affiliates visualize what might be achieved; they can encourage and inspire the affiliates. It’s energizing people toward a goal.

Taking a leadership position means several things. A leader must have a vision of the future for his or her SFI business and its members.

• Making a commitment to the mission and to the affiliates they lead.
• Taking responsibility for the accomplishment of the mission and the welfare of affiliates they lead.

Of course, everyone in SFI has different values, opinions, attitudes, beliefs, cultural values, work habits, goals, ambitions and dreams. SFI is a business. This should be treated like any other business. Only thing is, who ever becomes our Team Members are also in business.

When we treat this as a business, every individual has the liberty and right to decide on the course to be followed for his/her growth.

They too have many factors to be analyzed like money required towards:

1. Advertising;
2. Placing a standing order;
3. Team Building through S-Builder Co-op,PSAs to Go, etc;
4. Transfer Buying and so on.

Every one will work on a Budget on a month to month basis keeping the possible returns through commissions, versapoints, etc.

Only when they feel confident of seeing growth and improvement in returns they will start looking for opportunities to go up in the leadership levels.

If cost economics don't justify their moves, they will be reluctant to invest in SFI business. This means, the chances of their becoming BTL, etc will be very dim

As Sponsors, we all have responsibility to demonstrate the potential available in SFI Business without misleading them at any point of time. We have to be open minded, honest, sincere and above all trust worthy.

We should inspire them continuously through our achievements; We should motivate them to perform better through encouragement regularly. We should make them understand our commitment for their success and growth consistently. We should also guide them periodically on ways and means by which they should be able to gather VPs with affordable investment.

When we do all these naturally they will love to become EA/EA2/BTL/STL and so on every month.

Only when they grow, we can grow.
Only when they earn, we can earn.
Only when they expand, we can expand in our business.

4. Training is the key to understanding any business, direct them to training materials at SFI home page
5. Communication should be frequent - email, genealogy mailer, CSA/PSA mailer, phone etc.
6. Monitor the activities of your PSAs and CSAs from the VPLedger page and let them know what they can improve upon.
7. Always appreciate the effort of each of your team members e.g for being consistent every month.
8. Patience is key. You as a leader must not give up on any of your team members no matter what.
9. Share in their joy; congratulates anyone of them that WINs in any contest e.g E365, Daily Grand, T-Time, Knock Out Trivia etc.
10. Give them enough independence on running their own business, your words to them should always be advisory in nature.
11. Treat your team members as colleagues and not your sub-ordinates, therefore don't be too pushy.
12. Let your team members know you are always available for their help in-case of any difficulty.
13. Use inclusive words like "we", "our", "all of us" etc. in your email.
14. Motivate team members from time to time via rewards for performance - gift certificates, Tcredits, PSAs etc

I really liked your question so my answer also should be very convincing by all means. As far as I am concerned, leaders are not, as we are often led to think, people who go along with huge crowds following them. Leaders are people who go their own way without caring, or even looking to see, whether anyone is following them. Leadership qualities are not the qualities that enable people to attract followers, but those that enable them to do without them. They include, at the very least, courage, endurance, patience, humor, flexibility, resourcefulness, stubbornness, a keen sense of reality, and the ability to keep a cool and clear head, even when things are going badly. True leaders, in short, do not make people into followers, but into other leaders.

In SFI, at first, we all are joining as Affiliates and then, with thorough perseverance and determination, one will become the leader to have a good team to persist with. It is the duty of a true leader to guide and make other members in his or her team to take up the additional responsibilities and such responsibilities will make them more harder and experienced to become Team Leaders themselves. It is better to lead from behind and to put others in front, especially when you celebrate victory when nice things occur. You take the front line when there is danger. Then people will appreciate your leadership.

Moreover, I have three precious things which I hold fast and prize. The first is gentleness; the second is frugality; the third is humility, which keeps me from putting myself before others. Be gentle and you can be bold, be frugal and you can be liberal, avoid putting yourself before others and you can become a leader among men.

A leader is best when people barely know he exists, when his work is done, his aim fulfilled, they will say: we did it ourselves. If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader. Outstanding leaders go out of their way to boost the self-esteem of their personnel. If people believe in themselves, it's amazing what they can accomplish.

Teach your team members the art of leadership the way you learned it from other outstanding leaders. Embattle them to take up the additional responsibilities and inspire them to create their own team to taste more success and fortune. For the last three years or more, I do all these things to make more and more affiliates in my team with acumen leadership qualities. Power isn’t control at all — power is strength, and giving that strength to others. A leader isn’t someone who forces others to make him stronger, a leader is someone willing to give his strength to others that they may have the strength to stand on their own.

In short, with more and more team leaders in your own team, you can taste the ultimate success with their efforts and of course, a bright fortune too. Don't tell people how to do things, tell them what to do and let them surprise you with their results. A man can only lead when others accept him as their leader, and he has only as much authority as his subjects give to him. All of the brilliant ideas in the world cannot save your kingdom if no one will listen to them.

It is important for you to remember that everyone is not cut out to be a leader. So many affiliates here need guidance and direction to achieve their goals. New affiliates in particular get lost in the sea of information and desperate circumstances blind their vision and wane their patience. Before anyone can become a leader they must learn how to follow. No one can lead where they are not willing to go and certainly you can't teach what you don't know and understand for yourself.

When you have a clear picture of what it is you are working toward in your business, you need to execute a plan that will bring you from where you are to where you want to be. Leaders need to be able to do this. They need to be able to assess the strengths and weakness of their team and then teach them to lead others down a similar successful path. When you can duplicate this type of growth throughout subsequent generations it will take a tremendous burden off of you to teach every affiliate.

Sure, you should support all of your network with your knowledge but remember if you teach a person how to do for themselves it is more than likely that they will be able to sustain themselves. We need people who take initiative and follow through with a proven plan that works. There are those times that will require ingenuity and adaptation.

During your work in SFI you will have chance to sponsor many,many PSAs (and CSAs),but only few of them will be recognized as those who will really work.Some of them from the very start of joining SFI,some later (when they found out all the benefits of SFI).


As advised many times before,"work with workers".Which means work with those recognized,who are ready to invest their time (at least that) in SFI.Your "job" is to find 5 of them (or so) during a month and to sponsor them.

What "sponsor them" means?It means that you "transfer" all your knowledge and your skills to them.So that they can achieve what you have achieved.That is in short the process of "duplication".As said in SFI Basics (https://www.sfimg.com/SFIBasics),under #3,that is what you,as the sponsor or co-sponsor,should be doing.


Now,about your question.
It's important to have team members on leadership roles,because of the benefits you'll have.They are material and non-material.


Material benefits:

1. you will benefit from their status,because for each team leader that you sponsor (and also for each EA2,which is something between team leader and affiliate) you will be granted some extra VP for that.And that is (you can check it also on To-do list):

Because you want to duplicate yourself as a leader. To do this you need to check who among your Movers are showing leadership potential.

Identify 5 of your Movers and check their Affiliate Profile to see what level of activity they are at.

These 5 will always be featuring on your Movers list, as you can see from their VP Ledgers and in their Afiliate Profile how many people they have sponsored since joining your team.

At this stage, it is now important to give special training to these 5 to become leaders in order for duplication to happen effectively.

They need to be aware of the benefits of the different kinds of leaders they can aspire to become-

If they are very active in sponsoring and shows willingness to try different forms of advertising, they can be on the Top Sponsors Leaderboard. It is a great morale-booster to be acknowledge as such.
