Hello,

Your PSAs are definitely the heart and soul of your SFI business. I understand that there might be some PSAs that might not feel completely all that you are doing to help them even though you truly are doing everything you can. The best thing to do in order to deal with this, is to just keep offering them the support and help that you can provide them and continue to stay in contact with them and listen to their requests that they have for you.

Eventually, the rating they gave you before, they'll wish they haven't done that and they will start to change their ways towards you. There's the old traditional saying about keep being kind to people and feeding them when they're in need of be fed something. Even be kind to those who mistreat you, because eventually they will be the ones to have the "coals of shame" above their heads and will want to change their ways.

Not everyone will treat you poorly because everybody isn't the same. Continue to lead your team as is and you will see success without a doubt.

There will be some people who don't like being contacted or who don't appreciate
constructive criticism. So unless they remove themselves you still have the opportunity to change the way you deal with them.

One thing you can do is filter them out when you send regular genealogy e-mails and only e-mail them when they ask you for help. If there's another problem or if they've specified a certain thing when they rated you, then try to avoid doing that again.

Sometimes we get a poor rating if we're doing what SFI already does. For instance talking about setting up a standing order. When we do that and then SFI sends another email that says the same thing, we're coming across as someone who is in it for the money. Overkill is always an issue. So in the future just try not to bring it up.
Whatever the problem is, you can fix it by just sending out encouragement and motivation. Tell a good story, and don't send so many e-mails that it becomes a problem. Once or twice a week is plenty.

And once they've become an EA a couple of times, it's time to let them go by themselves for a while and other than recognizing their achievements and cheering them on, we can relax with the emails and start using our filters for the ones who really need the help.

Try to look at this from the perspective of the affiliate who is giving the low rating. Have you REALLY given unconditional support - or have you simply thrown out a few "good job, keep it going" kind of emails? Have you answered everyone's questions fairly quickly? Were they good answers, or did your answers just confuse them more? Have you shared your own experiences? You may have to dig really deep to find out the WHY of it, but if someone actually gave you a low score, they may have a reason for it.

Also, don't forget that mistakes can be made. I've actually hit the wrong button myself and given someone a "no" when I meant a "yes". If you honestly feel you have given top-notch advice and support to ALL of your affiliates, then you probably got the low score by mistake. Forget about it and move on.

On the other hand, if the low score could possibly be due to a lackluster, slow or incorrect responses to your affiliates then think of this as a teaching/learning situation. Figure out the why of it, correct the mistake and try not to let it happen again, then move on.

Very interesting question, as mostly we have it the other way around, when sponsors do not help. ahaha

From my experience, I just take it on it's own stride. A few months ago, before Gery changed things, and you could still see what affiliates were rating you, I had a rate of 3, so asked the person concerned, what else he wanted from me, I was rewarding him with TCredits, I sent him about 20 new affiliates, (not re-assignment, but new), his answer was " I was upset, because you took more than 2 hours to reply to my query", this was to my private e-mail

This month, for some reason, still have not found out what, another PSA rates me low.

I still try and send personal e-mail with tips in how to get him moving, as well as team mail.

I believe that if you get a low rate, it should not get you upset, maybe they are having a bad day, or whatever, or they think you should be the one doing their work? who knows. Try and ask, and see what they reply, if you get no reply, just use your judgement, but do not let that influence your desire to help others, we are all different, so take it with " a pinch of salt" as the saying goes

Now to be honest with you it's quite tricky answering this question because you say you offer your PSA's unconditional support. What comes to mind is if you are truly offering unconditional support then why are they rating you poorly?

It seems to me that there is something a little more sinister that you need to find out. I say this because I personally have offered my PSA's and CSA's alike the same unconditional support and am happy to say they have rated me very well. Month after month I have gotten a 5 star rating from each one of them.
You might however be right as there are some people who take time to build trust with anyone due to past experiences.

WHAT TO DO?

1. Do a personal Leadership Evaluation test.
Ask yourself questions such as; Why am I being rated poorly? Am I sure that I am giving all of the best support that is being asked of me? Am I really there for them? Am I practicing awesome sponsor tips? etc
After your self examination, come with solutions to solve those grey areas.

2. Start Afresh by re-opening your communication Lines with a new twist.
In one of the Launch pad Lessons we are told that COMMUNICATION IS HUGE! Are you communicating as often? Send your team a TM and inform them that you really desire to help them and your lines of communication are open to them to reach you at anytime. Trust me they will read that note of assurance.

3. Start and Invite them to a private 'SFI Team Only Webinar' or Google Hang Out/Skype Group etc
It works like magic because then people get to see you and begin to slowly develop trust because YOU their sponsor has invited them to provide tips and tricks on how they too can make it in their business.

4. Get Open and BOLD and ask WHY?
Our own opinions based on Individual Judgement may trick us to believe that we are doing great in helping our PSA yet it's not true. Sometimes it just takes a third eye showing us exactly where we are going wrong. Ain't nothing wrong with that. Politely and humbly ask them were you need improving. Tell them that by pointing those areas out they are helping you serve them better. And I hope you don't take it personally when they correct or rebuke you. A wise man accepts rebuke and correction.

5. Touch A heart before you ask for A hand
This has always been an all time GOLDEN rule. People don't care how much you know until they know how much YOU CARE. Gery said if you are only going to be preaching TC SO's to your down line then you might end up a lonesome leader up there. let your TM's mostly be how can I help you? Help, help, help and and then some... They will reward you without you even asking for it.

6. Don't sweat It!
Don't get bogged down by the ratings. You are right to be concerned about the WHY factor but do yourself a favor and don't dwell on it too much. It's simply a conundrum that needs solutions to make you a better leader. You might thank them later for their ratings to make you a better Team leader.

7. Show Appreciation
Being a good leader acknowledges peoples efforts and hard work. This works even in your own home. Asking your spouse to do the laundry and never saying thank you or rewarding then for a job well done. If you take people for granted and never acknowledge their work, they will lose their enthusiasm to please you.

Lastly patience, Enthusiasm and Charisma would be great pillars in helping you lead your team. All leaders need them all the time. In the end it seems it's not going to be about "HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH" but rather "HOW DO I HELP MYSELF BECOME BETTER??" Therein lies the answer.

1.Continue to offer your unconditional support
2.Find out the reason for the poor rating

For example I had a PSA that always rated me poorly and I could never understand why when I was always sending them information on what they needed to do to build their business. It turned out that even though I was sending out the information there was a language barrier. Now that I know what the problem is whenever I am sending out information to that particular person I use google translate to translate that information in their native language.

You want to continue to supporting them for the fact that they are rating you shows that they are trying to build their business but the low rating maybe a result of them being frustrated. If they write comments with their ratings you should follow up on those comments. If they don't leave a comment then you might want to send them a message like did, stating that you notice that you received a low rating from them this month and you would just like to know how you can better assist. More than likely if there is a problem they will let you know then.

PSAs are an essential ingredient in our Team and as their Leader; it is our duty to provide all the guidance and assistance towards their growth. As our SFI says, our down line’s growth is our own growth and without their selfless contribution, no leader can be born or survive.

In some cases, our PSAs needs some materialistic support too rather than just moral support, in that scenario, it is for a leader to decide and do the best towards his/her PSA’s further growth in the system.

Normally, some of the PSAs will do everything on their own towards their growth after obtaining some basic information from their sponsor and collecting more knowledge from the system on their own. In that case, they become independent on a faster pace and they will never depend on their sponsor to get all the support to enhance their growth. Those PSAs will certainly think twice and wisely too before they give the monthly rating for their respective sponsors. They will scale their sponsor’s depth of knowledge and the reach to their down line before they cast their Rating carefully.

To avoid a poor rating from the PSAs, I would suggest, being in touch with your down line always without irritating them with so many irrelevant messages but with only valid information and also with some motivating lines. If you can send at least one support message to your down line weekly, then they will consider their sponsor as their own and give all the unconditional support the sponsor wishes to seek. One sponsor should always encourage and compliment their PSAs and also their achievements which can give enough momentum for them to perform even better to make your Team a successful one .

Let me conclude, finally, a sponsor who is the beneficiary of all the good work of his/her Team and also should be responsible to bear the brunt for his/her non-performance.

I am assuming a poor rating to be below the 3-point mark. Don’t be distressed because not everyone is honest in their rating. First of all, I have not seen any statement where SFI has given any indicators of how this rating should be done, therefore , the results may be very subjective. Some affiliates complete the form just to receive the Versa Points!

All affiliates should be grateful to their sponsors for introducing them to this program. I am certain that you have made attempts to contact them in one way or the other, apart from the usual initial message that is sent automatically.

It might be prudent to ask the affiliate exactly what is being rated: your communication skills: i.e. your ability to express facts and ideas clearly and convincingly; your planning and preparedness: i.e. your ability to anticipate, determine goals, identify relevant information, set priorities and deadlines and create a shared vision for your team.

I think, if the ‘what’ is clearly defined by/to the affiliate, the result of the rating may change tremendously. Unless that is done, there will always be an unbalanced approach to the rating. Just continue to be an awesome sponsor!

This is very unfortunate but true and happens to a lot of affiliates. We provide unconditional support to our downline but the most important thing is to know, is that support effective and relevant enough?

I must tell you that sponsoring is a very systematic and sensible method. The most important thing is to create a bonding with our active downline and have regular interaction. We have to provide timely and appropriate support and keep on monitoring their performance and providing the feedback as well.

Support is not like just forwarding regular newsletters, news updates, important features, methods, contests etc. We must be very much aware of our team and their individual(esp the movers) activities. We cannot wait for them to ask something and rather tell them in advance what's wrong and what's right.

We shouldn't have the feeling of doing any kind of favor to them(because we have our own profit in it as well) and that will help us to strengthen the relation. We should take the first step and be sensible, co-operating & innovative in our approach.

Having said all these things, its also necessary to get the reaction of the downline. If they don't react we'll be unable to find and sort out the problems they're facing. There will always be a major no. of affiliates joining SFI with the aim of earning some easy money and no matter how hard you try, you won't be able to impress them. So we need to carry on with our approach and take special care of the ones(active movers) who're ready to learn and apply the things.

I hope the above mentioned explanation will help you a bit if not completely. I know you're doing your best but there's always a scope of improvement, best of luck with your SFI journey.

You should regularly contact your PSA's and asking them what they need and have they understand all the programs of SFI.
Make them clear about SFI and answer their questions. You must contact them online chat or Skype and clear them all about SFI.

ENCOURAGING:

You should encourage your PSA's on their achievement in SFI. If your PSA's maintaining their EA status or Team Leader status send them a Congratulations mail by that motivation and encouragement they will work better then now.

CONTEST AND REWARDS:

If you have financially challenged PSA's and they are really doing their Daily, Weekly and Monthly Actions regularly. Make them a contest on your team and help them Financially to get their level in SFI.

REGULARLY UPDATE LEADERSHIP PAGE:

You should update your Leadership page with Lot of information, Notes and Tips that helps your PSA's very mostly. Updating your Leadership page also helps your PSA's if it contain useful Tips and Notes.
