Anna's mission was to honor her own mother by continuing work she started and to set aside a day to honor mothers, "the person who has done more for you than anyone in the world". Anna's mother, Ann Jarvis, was a peace activist who cared for wounded soldiers on both sides of the Civil War and created Mother’s Day Work Clubs to address public health issues.

Ahh - gifts for that very special person - the one that gave you life and loved you since before you were born. A gift for her must be as special as she is. It should be something she would never buy for herself because she would rather spend the money on her family.

Think about what you would like to buy your own mother. If you are a mother - what would you love to get from your own children.

Some mothers just want her children with her and no gift will ever be as appreciated as your time. Some will say they've got everything they want and need. Some keep mothers day cards their children made for them when they were 2 years old! Mothers are sentimental like that - but they are also woman.
