Becoming an awesome sponsor requires a lot of self-belief in your ability to handle every kinds of problems and obstacles that come your way while building a successful SFI business.

If many of your affiliates have blocked your emails, read the reasons why when you check your Block List.

Some reasons may astound, surprise, or shock. Take them with a grain of salt. Use it as a teaching moment. They have a problem, not you.

Start by regularly accessing your Block List. See reasons for blocks in the link to view the reasons these affiliates decided to block you, paying particular attention to frequent and repeated complaints. Then, keep remember those reasons when creating team newsletters and other communications to your affiliates.

I recently checked my Block List- there were 3 Blocks: all to do with my weekly group mail. One said the mail does not relate to him, the other is no longer interested but the third reason was a real shocker not worth repeating.

This blocking referred to my group mails of March 24, May 24 and Aug. 15, 2015 so it will be easy for me to review my messages and do some revision on my style, content, length, etc. to reduce future affiliates blocking me.

This hasn't happened before so I was really surprised to see it and its a teaching moment that I want to learn from. I will now make my weekly group mails short and sweet!

So, do NOT get hung up on a few people blocking you complaining about your messages. We’ll never please everyone, and we don’t want to get bogged down by a few who will never be happy! As I said, they have a problem, not us.

Unless you have a large number of affiliates blocking you, you should listen to the feedback, take action and continue being an awesome sponsor to others who are working and in contact with you. They are the ones that matter!

As you build your SFI and TripleClicks business you will end up enrolling someone or many affiliates who will block your emails and/or stream messages. This is normal for the course.

Do not think it strange nor is it a reflection on your sponsorship. There are ALWAYS those who will not agree with what you are sharing with them nor do they want to be bothered by you. Some use the excuses of “Too much email” or too many “stream posts.” It does not matter what reason they give for blocking you – it is a problem they have and not you.

On the other hand if you are getting a overabundance of your teammates blocking your emails and stream posts then it would be a good idea to take another look at what you may be doing wrong.

Which could be:

1. Sending emails daily.
2. Writing two or more stream posts per day.
3. No valuable content in your emails or posts.
4. Always asking them to purchase something.

Those listed above are just samples of why a affiliate could be blocking your messages.

As to being an “awesome Sponsor;” that is controlled only by you and no one else. If you are doing all that you can and then some extra then I would say you are an Awesome Sponsor.

I personally know that I am awesome sponsor with my teammates – I also know a few of them might disagree, well that is their right (personal opinion). I have about 4 teammates over the last three years block my personal emails and stream post and one has block my team mail as well. I figure that is their loss not mine.

So I encourage you to continue being a “Awesome Sponsor” the majority of your teammates will see what you are doing for them and they will appreciate it.

Hi David,

So far, I have seen several members recommend trying to convince them to come back by improving your TeamMails, however, if they have already blocked your emails, this will not be an option. If they have blocked you, you are NOT allowed to contact them by that method at all.

Affiliates have several 'block' options available to them, according to the Block List available to you here: https://www.sfimg.com/MyAccount/BlockList
They can:
- block your private/SFIM messages
- block your group mailings
- block your Stream posts

Perhaps they have blocked your private/SFIM messages and your group mailings, but they may still see your Stream posts, so you could try and make your Stream posts more informative and they may see them if they log in.

You could use your Leadership Page to write articles and set up contests, and post the link on your Stream. It may catch their attention if they are still logging in.

If they have blocked your emails, they are sending quite a strong message of their disinterest, and you may have to accept that you have lost them until THEY decide to re-engage with the SFI program. You should respect their wishes, and I would advise you not to contact them by personal email, because you could anger them, and they may even report you for spamming or illegal use of their email address.

If you are already connected with them on social media - FB, G+, etc. - you may still have a chance of encouraging and re-engaging them by updating your own personal SFI website or blog, and share those posts on your social media. It may get them interested again. However, it is up to them to make that decision and remove the block if they wish to.

An affiliate who does not want to receive your messages blocks you for the possible reasons:
- they do not wish to participate in SFI, but don't know how to opt out
- they don't understand or wish to participate at the moment but may come back
- they are participating but feel they don't want or need your involvement
- they don't feel your mailings are interesting or of benefit to them

All you can do is to ensure that future mailings are interesting and beneficial to try to keep affiliates who have not blocked you engaged. However, if they have already blocked you, you probably have very little to do with any future decision they make.

You certainly should not harass them by any other means.

SFI has designed effective communication tools to facilitate our exchanges with other affiliates, adding a special focus on our team members and our upline. However, these tools are no longer accessible if somebody decides to block us, closing most of the avenues through which we could reach them.

I just reviewed my "Block List" from my account. I highly recommend that every affiliate visits that information from time to time. There is valuable insight we can gain by knowing how many have blocked us and for what reasons.

The list includes all the SFI affiliates with whom we may have come into contact and who no longer wish to read from us.

This data is particularly critical when it comes to our team members.

The good news is, it is possible to reverse the situation.

In your case, the first step is to analyse to Block list data. Some may have blocked all communication lines; other may have only blocked one part. Knowing the extent of the blockade and the reasons will help you in devising a strategy to overcome the situation.

Here, the major objective is to change the perceptions that led your affiliates to block your messages. You can achieve this by adopting a different approach to your communications. You want to be highly positive and extremely supportive.

If your affiliates realize that they will gain much more by re-establishing the communication lines, they lift the blockade.

The one tool that remains available is your "Leadership Page". I suggest you update it and use it to inform your team members of your activity, including your tips as a sponsor, the contests your organize, and your blogs.

The second most appropriate tool is in your Genealogy filters. Your most important goal is to identify the active affiliates on which you want to focus your sponsoring and mentoring efforts. They are the prime target of your strategy and actions aiming at lifting the blockage, which may consist of the following:

1. Offer Tcredits to the most active who will likely use them in their business building efforts

2. Re-assign affiliates to those active team members who may have blocked you

3. Include them in your S-Builder Co-op

4. Recognize their efforts and express support to what they are doing through your stream posts. Even if they have blocked your streams, other may read your positive comments and share them with those who blocked you.

5. Use the forum with the spirit of an "awesome sponsor". The affiliates who blocked you will have access to your forum posts either directly or indirectly.

6. Organize team contests and reward generously. Every affiliate who truly wants to build their business would feel motivated to be part of contests that will motivate them to succeed.

7. If all fail, reassign the affiliates who have blocked you to your top 'movers" and assist the new sponsors to avoid the mistakes you may have made.

In conclusion, it is important to fully take advantage of the lessons we learn from our affiliates' blockade. Our affiliates are business owners and want only what will help them be successful. Our job, as sponsors, is just that: help our affiliate succeed. When we have their best interest in mind and me communicate with them within that spirit, we all will reach our ultimate goals.

As an awesome sponsor your role is to provide guidance and support to your team members in growing their SFI business. “Working with workers” is the first and most important principle. If some one does not want it, do you have to blame yourself? No, you should leave them and move on. Don’t try to major in minors. They probably haven’t realized the potential of SFI. Concentrate your efforts on those who still are alive and receiving your mails.

Try to show your awesome work to your live team members. For this you have to judge yourself on the following points:

1. Maintain your leadership by setting an example. Sooner or later they will follow.
2. Be supportive to the needs of your down line from time to time. Their success is your success.
3. Maintain your Leadership page well and update from time to time.
4. Set up good communication link with your team through PSA / CSA mailer, Genealogy mails. Keep sending valuable tips to enforce growth and energy in your team.
5. Include your leadership page URL in your mails to show your work, recommendations, contests etc for your team. Let them see to effect duplication and take advantage of your offerings.
6. Use stream post tab effectively by posting important announcements and encouraging thoughts.
7. Respond to new PSA mail notifications by welcoming them immediately to your team and offer assistance in their start up.
8. Encourage your PSAs / CSAs as they advance in the E365 contest.
9. Show your leadership at the forum and share good post with them.
10. Run a co-op and let them know about it with the conditions applicable to participate.
11. Make them aware about the marketing aid and methods. Let them know effective ways and areas to use them.
12. Encourage them to read. “SFI Rules of Success” contain ideal topics for their business growth.
13. Keep your communication personalized, don’t set it on auto-responder.
14. Have patience; do not be forceful on achievements.
15. In wake of hasty success do not develop dependency in your team.

In the end, do not waste your time on doubtful and non-motivated people. We can only provide the path for them to run on. We cannot take them across the finish line. They have to show their want and desire themselves. Always focus on the workers.

If you have been blocked by an affiliate in your team, it was not because of lack of communication. Chances are you were trying to be that Awesome Sponsor and stepped on someone's toes with
1) something that he didn't want to hear, or
2) sent too many communications (along with those from SFI/TC, his upline, and his co-sponsor), or
3) your letters were boring, and had no new information that he needed or thought he needed, or
4) he has previous experience with this sort of business and doesn't want help.

People with reasons 1 & 4 probably are not great candidates for being Awesome PSAs and learning how to duplicate. In the case of a CSA, he may have an Awesome Sponsor already working with him and not want conflicting instructions. As we are told, work with the workers. If someone is not willing to receive your comments, he is not one of your workers, even if he shows up on your Movers List.

People using reason 2 may tell you that there was too much mail. If you get this reason, consider what you can do to send fewer communications to your team. Not everyone will dislike lots of mail, but you never know who will block you when. Another reason people think there is too much mail is that they need to translate everything they get relating to this business. If they are lazy or have limited time on the computer, they will not want to spend much time for translation. If you have a large group speaking one language, send a translation at the top or bottom of your letter. Use the genealogy filters to help you with this.

People hinting at reason 3 are tired of long, redundant letters that are aimed at the Newbies and inactive affiliates. You must improve your letters, shorten them up, or make them easy to read by breaking them into sections with sub-titles. Use the genealogy filters to sort out who is new and who needs real meat and potatoes in your letters and then feed it to them.

We are not told who has blocked us Depending on the size and activity of our team, we may know who has done this, or not. It presents a drain in our time if we continue to send eCards, team mail personally written for that person, etc. We spend time trying to help them and they are not even reading our mail. This is one reason we should work with the workers and in preparation, teach our team about the whys, what-fors, and results of blocking an upline.

It is wise to often take a hard look at your communications and improve on them as you can.

Blocked emails is an indication of inactivity or reluctance of an Affiliate to continue with the business. An affiliate should be encouraged not to quit at this stage. An awesome sponsor must be able to assess all his sponsored and co-sponsored affiliates in terms of their activities and likely intentions.

An awesome sponsor should be more than a Sponsor, Co-Team member or Team Leader. When a new PSA is assigned, the sponsor must learn to develop mutual trust and respect. He must present a warm welcome and offer commitment to support his PSAs/CSAs.
He should guide the PSA to study the SFI Basics, the Getting Started, the Launch Pad Lessons, the Daily, Weekly, and Monthly To Tasks, the Intermediate and the Miscellaneous Tasks. Most important is the achievement of Fast Track Membership within the first ten (10) days of registration and sticking to the SFI Rule of Success- Becoming an Executive Affiliate, Setting Up a 1500vp Standing Order, and Duplication.

The rapport established at this stage could be exploited to woo back an inactive PSA or CSA or any nursing an intention to quit. The Affiliate should be contacted on phone to further convince him/her of the need to get committed to the business. He must be reminded that ,” Quitters don’t win and winners don’t quit” Intimate the affiliate with latest development and how testimonials have been frequently presented by the successful SFI affiliates. Commend the affiliate of the much he has achieved in the business. Direct the affiliate to your Leadership page as a testimonial for your personal achievements and success as his/her Sponsor and the reason why the affiliate should not quit.

Having secured the confidence of the affiliate , he/she may be redirected to log in at his SFI home page for further chatting and support tips. He should also be made aware that he would be reached through E-Cards and Emails as often as necessary in which case he will need to unblock his erstwhile blocked email to enhance further communication. The Sponsor should provide the Affiliate with some Gift Cards or T-Credits to play Eager Zebra Games, Bid at Pricebenders Auction. etc to encourage him/her.

Question:

That is something we all will experience from time to time. Many times it is an indication too many messages have been sent. Other times, loss of interest in the business will cause one to block email messages.

My own experiences taught me to keep going with those who are not only still reading our email, but to continue sending messages via group mailers, and e Cards.

Keeping a regular flow of one or two messages per week is enough. Do not over send messages to our down lines. They will soon be recognized as spam.


There are plenty interested members on our teams, and more to come. Keep building your team even if a few do not welcome your messages. Do not let this discourage you. I have one who blocked my email, only because it was reminding that person of the things that could not be accomplished or afforded.

There are times in our lives when we just do not have the ability to perform as we wish or desire. In this case we might just block messages to indicate this to our sponsor. We do not have the courage to let our sponsor know we have failed the expectations before us.

These are just a few reasons. Inactivity should not hinder our goals.

We just keep on doing what we know is working, and forget about those who do not desire to hear from us any longer.

Why have they blocked your emails? This is the 1st thing you should establish. Go to https://www.sfimg.com/MyAccount/BlockReasons and have a look.

The message they are sending you is clear – they don’t want to receive your emails and the reasons why are given. Respect their reasons.

Have a look at the reasons and work out where you can have an influence. For example, if the affiliate is no longer interest in SFI, you cannot do anything about it. If they have blocked you because of too much email, then you can do something about it. Have a look at the frequency of your emails to them, the language you use, the size of the emails etc...

For me a block is as good as an opt-out of SFI and I would not try to contact them via social media or other means. I would just leave them alone and focus on my workers and those who are still receiving my emails.

I would continue striving to be an awesome sponsor to my other team members having learnt from any mistakes I may have made.

I would continue to send out streams and group mails. If after a time they decide to start receiving my emails that would be their call and that would be great news for me. I would take that as an indication that I am on my way to becoming an awesome sponsor.

One of the biggest mistakes many of us-Sponsors-make upon receiving a notification from SFI about a new sign up is, "start bombarding with so many mails" trying to share everything, all at once.

This makes them doubt your sincerity and they tend to become "skeptical" and give up easily.

I honestly feel this is not the correct way of building a Team and the business.

We should always welcome the new entrants with a " Warm Message" congratulating him/her for joining SFI in general and our Team in specific & wish them good luck with a few line introduction about ourself.

In every subsequent communication, our message should be brief and to the point. It should always indicate our willingness and commitment to their growth and success.

"What can I do for you now so that you will get started with out any problems?"

"How can I support you now so that you will be successful?"

"What is your area of concern here in this business?"

"I am always here as your friend-Please ask me anything you want to get clarified"

When you fill your mails with statements like these, they will be inspired to get back to you.

On the other hand, if you speak only about,"Earning money", " Placing SO", etc then then will suspect your intention as such. It paves the way for them to block our communication or they will become inactive or they will "opt out".

Since you claim that many of them have blocked your mails, :

1. Try to understand if they are active by observing your "Movers" List.
2. Visit Genealogy and read all about their activities.
3. If they have a personal mail id, please send them brief messages at regular intervals;
4. Try to use "Stream" to communicate with them;
5. In case you have their contact numbers try your luck to speak to them (if cost is affordable).
6. If their FB id is available, then try to message them;
7. Despite all these efforts, if they do not respond, do not give up.
8. Just keep sending them the mail through SFI group Mailer System hoping it reaches their
personal mail box at least (in case they block Group mails); on a weekly basis.
9. Focus on your active members & help them grow continuously.
10. Keep signing in new affiliates & encourage them.
11. Remain with hope, some day, some one will become an asset in your Team!

Conclusion:

In short, keep the other channels of communication open & use them. If they are willing, its fine. Other wise, just leave them and keep focusing in building your Team with more new affiliates. Always remember, "Some will; Some will not; So what? There is some one waiting; NEXT?". Build relationships with them, based on trust and mutual respect that will last for a longer time! In the process, you will realize that they respect you as an awesome sponsor!!
