There is a saying that to be a good leader, one has to be a good follower first.

In SFI's duplication as one of its methodologies, we become followers first by doing what our sponsors and training packages suggest us to do. Thus, in SFI one does not have to be born a leader or born with a silver platter to be successful.

Dedication, patience, perseverance, persistence, and PASSION for SFI I think makes one a leader over being born as one.

But I guess the most important thing in being a team leader is making sure that you have a team to lead....Thus, our challenge is how to maintain active PSAs and CSAs that we can regularly see as movers. and this we can do if we invest time on communicating with them through sharing tips and recognizing their milestones.

There is always a leader within each of us. It is in YOU and in US! Just bring it out from within...the confidence and belief in yourself that you can, affirming yourself that you are indeed a LEADER!

Leadership scares a lot of us but when you get down to it it has two key parts that each of us can handle.

The first critical part is mental attitude. A leader is someone who says they are a leader. You are a leader if you say and believe you are a leader and anyone can do that. It always fascinates me that whenever an issue crops up you will always find one or two people who stand up and begin to organise the others. No-one asks them to they just do. It could be as simple as trying to get a large sofa through a narrow door - a leader will always show up in the team!

The second part is the easiet of all. One you declare you are a leader you simply do the things that you know leaders would do in that situation. At SFI it's been made so easy; simply follow the listed rules of success and encourage your team to do the same.

Great question. I will give you 7 easy steps on how to become team leader.

1.Listen to others. Even though you are the team leader and you make the decisions, you should always ask people what their opinion is. Try to incorporate them whenever it's feasible. You aren't a dictator.

2.Take in others' suggestions. When someone gives you an idea, work on it. Think of how you can improve on it. A good leader is one that listens and not just talks. Show the team you are flexible to consider their thoughts.

3.Include everyone. If some people are a little left behind, help them. Always try to include them. Find a task for everyone no matter what their skill or level.

4.Encourage your team. Sometimes people are scared to try something and this is where the leader comes in. You have to encourage your team mates and show them that the task is possible, even if difficult, and try to make it fun for them. Show them the positive results of their work.

5.Know what you are talking about. If your teammates are as confused as you are, how will they know what to do? As the leader, you must do the research first, or have the most information.

6.Enjoy being a leader. Even though leaders have to take things seriously, there is no reason you can't have fun. Just don't get too carried away. Balance the serious business at hand with regard for the morale and spirits of the team.

How can you be an SFI Team Leader if you're not a born leader?

Leaders are not born, they’re developed. Everyone is unique. And because you are so unique, you can develop those special talents and abilities you have to fulfill your purpose and destiny and become the leader you were meant to be.

In SFI we are all given equal chance to be one, by making it easy for us to achieve the first rank of leadership- that of becoming Executive Affiliate.

The title itself is telling us we’ve got leadership potential!

Once you become an Executive Affiliate, prepare to develop yourself as a team leader for you will soon become one. SFI even provides us with our own Leadership Page to fill in for our team’s benefit- which starts with greeting, rewards and incentives, recognition, recommendations and best tips.

So begin at once. Make a list; put priorities in order; and do the list.

. Set goals and strategy, including short and long range planning. Make a list of your goals- think in the areas of being, doing, owning and accomplishing. Rearrange your goals in order of priority, select the goals you want first, set a target date, be realistic and make your goals attainable.

. Be organised- this concerns team members and structure. How do you want your team to look: wide or deep? When to use the reassignment tool, and how to maximize your limited resources when just starting to build a team

. Implementation – the day-to-day execution of plans. This means you need to log in daily, earn your daily VPs and leading the way in all aspects of building your SFI business.

. Persistence, sustained staying power. Leaders don’t quit at the first sign of obstacles. You continue no matter what. Persistence or staying power is the quality that sets the leader apart. There are born Leaders and to them Leadership comes naturally without much stress because of their character, personality and temperament.

However, If you are not one of them, you can still be a leader in life by constantly training and improving yourself.

When it comes to SFI, there are certain things that you have to do to qualify you to become a team leader:

1. You have to be willing to invest some money in your business.
One of the requirements for being a team leader is that you should have a MINIMUM of 1500VP from sales (or purchases) each month. That is why a standing order of at least 1500VPs is recommended. The amount of VPs you get from sales (or purchases) will determine your level of TL (BTL, STL, GTL, PTL). For example a BTL should have a minimum of 1500VP/ maximum 2000VP from sales or purchases.

2. You have to be active and committed to your business on a daily basis.
Attaining the rank of team leader requires a combination of both action VPs and sales VPs. The other additional points to qualify for the Rank can be got from completing actions on your to-do list in order to attain the total points required for a given Team leader Rank each month as below:
BTL - 3000VP
STL - 4000VP
GTL - 5000VP
PTL - 6000VP
Those are the total points you have to work for each month for the rank of team leader
that you desire, so you have to be committed to your business to attain those points each month.

3. You have to maintain your leadership page.
This still goes back to being active daily, you need to maintain your page like 3 times a month (you are given a notification to remind you when your page needs maintenance).

4.You need to actually have a team to lead.
This requires advertising to get people on your team, and when they join you should help them to grow. This means you have to have active PSAs, lead them by example, communicate regularly with them, give them tips on how to build their business. You can only do this if are knowledgeable yourself and successful to a certain level. Therefore acquire as much knowledge as you can so that you can share it with someone. SFI has made it easy to get PSAs either by free advertising or buying if you have the money. At the start of the month, these PSAs rate you and you need to have a minimum 3-star rating (this does not apply if you have less than 5 PSAs).

These are some of the things that I believe you should have (or do) to become a team Leader. These are qualities/ requirements you can achieve with some training, reading, hard work, commitment and Honesty.

The first thing you will want to do is learn all you can in the first months. Learning where to find answers is
very important, too.

It is possible to be a team leader as you progress through the steps and follow instructions. The saying goes, SFI is not rocket
science! If you do not know what to say or do -

The words are all in the program. Use them.

The instructions are in the program. Follow them.

The steps are in the program. Take them.

If you do these things you not only will become a leader, you will also have all you need to be a team leader. Get in the habit
right from the start to follow all the steps and instructions. Use the words SFI provides for you until it becomes naturally
part of your own language. Be follower of the instructions. Do the steps everyday until the become habit.

A team leader is someone who knows the program and learns where to find answers and learns how to tell others the way to do it, too. (teach duplication)

Add a few other things like confidence in the SFI program and yourself. Add patience, dedication, vision (to see what you want to achieve), and positivity in you thoughts, words, and actions.

There is a difference between actual physical leadership and online leadership because you will not be dealing with people face to face.

In SFI you need at least three qualifications to be a Team Leader and being a born leader is not one of them. Here's what you need to be Team Leader at SFI even if you are not a born leader.

1. You become leader with what you know - You must have a thorough knowledge of SFI/TripleClick's business process. You need the knowledge to be an awesome sponsor. Your affiliates will ask for advise when they encounter problem. Your knowledge will make you an automatic leader even if you are not born leader.

2. You become leader with what you do.- This is leading by example. Your badges will usually show what you do with your SFI business. Example of this is logging in daily which is shown as your daily versa points streaks. Each badge that you earn represents thing that you did. Try to have at least 10 badges in your name. Earning points that gives you rank of a team leader is important.

3. You become leader with what you say - showing appreciation and cheering up your affiliates is very important. Words of encouragement and concern will automatically put you into team leadership.
