The only way to become a successful online entreprenuer is to learn by doing. You have to execute. All of the plans in the world fall flat without action. The road to failure is paved with good intentions but lacks correct action and due diligence. Time is a major determinant in the success of any venture so you have to be realistic about the time you expect to see success. Then you have to define what success means to you. Success for one is mediocrity for another.

Of course, you have to possess all of the characteristics of an entrepreneur and you must have an insatiable desire for knowledge. Knowledge is power when it is applied correctly. Without application, it's just information and of no real benefit. So you just don't have to read a lot but apply that knowledge to your business. Just do a google search for the 10 best selling books on entrepreneurship and then set yourself a time line to read those books. Take notes while you read and apply what you learn as you go.

From my experience, the best way to learn how to become a successful online entrepreneur is with a combination of different methods.

Some type of formal training can always benefit an entrepreneur. But this can be very expensive and depending on the course, you may not get the specific training you are looking for.

It also depends on your niche market or what you are trying to achieve with your business. If you are selling products, then you will need to learn more about mass production and distribution. If your business is in the service industry, then you will need to learn more about marketing.

You are the only one who knows what you want to accomplish with your online business. Therefore, I believe you are the best person to know what you need to learn in order to make your business successful.

The combinations of methods that I have found to be most productive are through having a mentor or working with someone who has done that particular online business before, and being self-taught through trial and error. Although trial and error may not sound like a very good method, it is amazing what experience you gain from trying different things and using diverse ways to build your business. But you do not necessarily want to just throw something out there and see if it works. You still need to have a plan and some way to measure the success of that plan. As you try new things, I think you would discover how much your mind can become more creative in formulating strategies and processes to be successful.

Focus on the basics and things that are most advantageous to building your business. Don't focus on non-essentials, focus on the things that are productive. Never waver from these things and take time to learn what the essentials are. Every now and then remind yourself of these things and keep your sight set on your goals. A very good example that I can provide is a sport that I keep up with - Badminton. The Chinese Government pays its best badminton players to train for about 330 days out of 365 days. Is there a chance of any other player to defeat the Chinese players? My answer would be a definite, No. This is the passion of the sport, the dedication and the continuous learning that goes into making you the best. In my own opinion, being an entrepreneur either offline or online are way too similar. Becoming a successful entrepreneur especially online takes a lot of patience and perseverance because when you are too anxious to make it overnight, you begin to get frustrated when it seems you are not making the expected sales you need.

Becoming successful online, you must be ready to think not like your own self, but you'll need to think if you're to buy a service from yourself. Is your service really worth investing cash on? How catchy is the product or service you have to offer to the world at large? How can you convince others to buy from you?

To become a successful online entrepreneur, be anxious and eager to learn from entrepreneurs who are making it successfully online by following up on them and asking them questions that partake to where you want to be.

Read books that focuses on entrepreneurship and focus more on the following skills: selling, interpersonal, communication, technical, management, and social skills.
