That all depends on what you are advertising for.

If you are advertising for the ECA program, you would want to advertise near businesses that make their own products such as flea markets, novelty shops, art galleries, etc.

If you are advertising for promoting sales, you would want to put up your flyers near places that a lot of techies hang around. These kind of people spend a lot of time on their iPad, iPhone, computer, etc; and they are very interested in anything that they can do on the go.

Once you give the people what they want, you are more likely to get what you want!!!

The best place is where a lot of people will see it, and where it's allowed to be posted. Some towns have sign ordinances that ban the posting of flyers on public poles (Like telephone poles).

Generally when we want to post something we start with bulletin boards around town--at the grocery story, in the library, and then in any merchant's window who will allow us to do so.

If you can have your flyers inserted into the local newspaper that helps, but there is a cost involved there.

Depending on what information is on the flyers, you might take them to a college campus to post them, or local churches, or community event boards--where ever you can post them! It's harder to find places that will allow it, at least where I live.

There are many avenues where you can distribute or post flyers keeping in mind that your flyers will not be trashed. Therefore it is important to post the flyers where

- the benefit of the flyers will outweigh the cost of placing those flyers. Taking part in fairs gives you easy access to not only post flyers but also distribute them to all those who are exhibiting at the fairs. It will also give you time to explain in person the concept of the program and depending on the number of days the fair is, you will have sufficient interaction to promote the business.

- there is maximum traffic and your business can get the exposure that you would like. Malls are ideal for this as the cost involved is also minimal.

- you may need to spend a little but can conform to the rules of your municipality - this would allow you to distribute flyers in parking lots and other public areas and anyone else without breaking any rules.

I would suggest that if you have a bus and or train station that you ask if you can post them around the premises. Another fruitful opportunity to reach interested individuals is the local cab companies. Place your flyers in plastic sleeves and see if they will place them with back seat reading material. This has worked in my town. Another place to post them is at the employment office in your local town. They should have a bulletin board or some kind. Try these avenues and I hope that they prove out to be productive.

If you are near any sort of college - that's he place! Most schools have a public bulletin board, but be sure to know when they change out their notices. You will probably have to go back every month.

Coffee shops, community centers, laundromats, churches, even your local unemployment office are good spots, too. Senior communities are excellent places, and usually have a bulletin board in their Club Houses. Apartment complexes usually do, too.

I usually plan one day at the beginning of the month and hang all of my posters/fliers then. Be sure to take tape and push pins with you. They are not always provided. Keep extra fliers in your car - you may stumble across an opportunity anywhere!

(as its one I keep asking myself)...

To me it seems important that we try to 'target the right market'.... although with SFI, anyone could be a target !
It all depends on whether they are looking to make an extra income, or looking for that 'job at home', or 'get away from that awful Boss', or 'learn to become an internet entrepreneur', etc, etc...

The places I prefer are 'big hyper stores', where it is allowed to place flyers, or at a Bus station, or railway station - where the attractive SFI flyers will catch some - ones' eye.

In a nutshell, any open area (or meeting place) where people gather or pass by, will serve you best.

Some of the best places would be on your job bulletin board if they have one.

Some other places would be the local store.
Ask the owners if you can hang or leave some there.
You can pay local kids to hand them out around town.

Colleges are great also!
You can pay some college kids to hand them out or even stick some
under windshields at the mall.

This is just a small sample of ideas you can use.
Use your imagination and you will succeed!
