I love this question;
We are unique individuals with differing perceptions and attitudes towards business.
Those who succeed within a short span are those who are intrinsically motivated; they are passionate, they aim high and dream big; as a result they are prepared to do what it takes to get to the top or get their business up and running; therefore they invest time and money when necessary to get the business off the ground.

- on the hand there are those who desire to achieve success in this business; but don't have financial resources to invest, as such it take a bit longer for them to get somewhere; the only thing they have is time investment; whilst within the same group are those who don't even have time to invest because of the nature of their regular jobs.

Within the same group however are those who despite having a bit of funds and time they are either not committed or are not yet confident about the business and are still learning and/or are skeptical.

The bottom line is that there are various contributory factors why some will succeed quickly than others.

Your success in affiliate marketing depends on your efforts and of course your skills. Success in SFI mainly depends on two basic things.

1. Sponsoring quality affiliates
2. Teaching them the methods of sponsoring good affiliate (duplication)

So, those who are lucky they get some real quality team members in few weeks and start teaching them the way they followed. This leads to their early success. But there are so many new members who are entering for first time to affiliate marketing. They are lack of skill and not aware of the right places. In that case, it takes a lot of time.

But always remember, patience is a big key to your success. Always focus on your basic points and work towards it. That will pay off may be bit late.

1. Some people have experience in marketing or a personality that allows them to sell things easier.

2. By taking advantage of the many different ways SFI offers to make money. So don't concentrate on just getting Versa Points or Price Benders. Use your T-Connect Page, find ECAs, concentrate on getting PSAs and CSAs. There are at least 8 different ways of making money with SFI, use them all.

3. Some people have a bigger group of friends, family, and co-workers. Imagine working for a company with 1000 employees, a family of 10 siblings, or being part of an organization with many members . Some people have these recourses so look at each one as a potential PSA.

Anyone can be successful with SFI, you just have to find different ways of being successful and use them all.

People that find success quickly, have changed and grown through personal development, whether it be through employment or just a desire to change. It is this aspect of a person that helps them become more successful than others. I have found this to be true for myself as I achieved very quickly with SFI. What happens is that, when you have reached a level of success and you can't seem to progress, you need to look at where you are personally and then continue to learn and grow by reading positive books, listening to positive people, you may even have to change some of your friends as their negativity will rub off on you and hold you back. I definitely attribute any of my successes to being a reader.

Others have answered this question and said that luck is part of the answer. Luck, to me, is a four letter word spelled w o r k. Luck is preparedness and opportunity meeting.

Many factors are responsible for some SFI affiliates finding success in weeks ,while others takes months and years.
Some that make it in weeks are already used to internet marketing concepts and may have probably worked in some affiliate programmes in the past, so their wealth of experience will definitely pay off in weeks. On the other hand, some affiliates that lack the experience would need to read a lot of stuffs about internet marketing and affiliate networking, and comprehend the information. This process will take months before success is achieved.
Experienced affiliate marketers in other programmes that join SFI are likely to succeed in weeks because they may have a good number of dedicated down lines. Therefore, convincing those number of people to join and be active at SFI is very easy. In contrast, some SFI affiliates that lack such pool of already acquired network of people may take longer time to gather active down lines.
Another reason is ambition. Some affiliates that are successful at SFI in weeks are very ambitious and therefore put every information they gather at SFI into action immediately, while some others linger, or wastes so much time before taking any serious action.
The fourth reason in my opinion is that some affiliates pay great price in time and money to succeed in weeks, while some that succeed in months and years are unable to pay some necessary sacrifice that would have yielded good results in few weeks.
Other reasons are, the type of goals some set for themselves, whether short term, middle, or long term goals. A short term goal can be achieved in weeks, while a long term goal may take months or years to achieve. For example participating in PPA and PRM may bring fast success while Duplication and Team building may takes longer time to yield success.
Finally, i would say that, the place of luck some times, cannot be neglected in issues like this. After all efforts, one must pray that they are rewarded with results.

This is very good question.
It occurs to me also, quite often.
I guess the following are the reasons, why some affiliates find success with SFI in just weeks, while for others it takes months or years:
1) Lack of understanding the Rules And Terms of SFI.
2) Reservation on the part of affilites to approach Marketing.
3) Lack of Finance.
4) Lack of Time available.
5) Fear of loss of Investment.
6) Shyness to approach others for Sponsoring.
7) Losing heart on receiving negative response from those you approach.
8) Simply, laziness on the part of affiliates..
And so on.... which represent Lacunae in the personality/position of affiliates.
By continuously trying to overcome these Short-comings with Patience, one can hopefully
reduce the time to achieve success.

A lot of people begin with SFI just for a try. In the first month everything is easy and VP are coming daily, but on the second month when 0 is in the VP, people just give up, because they see they have a lot of work to do to stay EA and they have to invest money and time for the position. Not everyone wants to invest. Some people do very well with sales, other don't. And active people who think they found their place in the business with SFI are motivated and inspired to work daily for it - they make sales of sponsor daily. Others, who aren't sure SFI is their place are waiting for something to happen, they put a small effort. When they don't see financial results sooner, they give up after 3-5 months. I had PSA like these. I don't blame them and I respect them like friends. The people, who are serious in my team are few and we work for 2 years till now together and our bond got stronger.
If people are really serious about their SFI business, months, years or weeks don't mind and they don't think of it like this. They have vision in their mind and a plan to follow slowly, because this is their life and SFI is an important part of it.

President Gerry Carson stated somewhere in our training how long it took successful SFI people to start being successful and making a lot of money in SFI. It was 6 months to a year for most of them. For a serious income, even more.

So, finding success is not fast or easy for anybody. But it is possible, with persistence and hard work.

And if someone doesn't look for wealth, but just additional paycheck, they can reach their smaller goal sooner. That's a success, too.

Nice question.

I believe there could be many contributing factors in answering this.

Lets say that you already have your own business website when you joined SFI, with a decent amount of traffic and newsletter subscribers and as long as it was relevant to the topic you could advertise SFI through the site.

There are many affiliates that join and could perhaps already be involved in other internet businesses of a similar nature, thus having a considerable amount of experience and the contacts already in place.

Some affiliates will invest large amounts of money early to start building their teams, they could be doing well in Pricebender Auctions by winning affiliates and through other ECA's purchasing affiliates.

What if you had been working in the advertising industry for 30 years? Then you joined SFI as part of your retirement plan. These type of people could have years of contacts and associates they could call upon to create mass duplication.

To sum up i would say that those that take their time and work hard everyday can do just as well as the fore mentioned.

The reasons for which many affiliates have now been successful in SFI are the following:
