You don't have to invest any money into it unless you use paid ads. You don't have to actually own the item. Your don't have to collect the payment or package it and send it out. You know what type of gifts that your family and friends give. Share those types of items on Facebook where they are sure to see them. Promote local ECAs so that your friends and family can circumvent the postage and do a direct pick-up. Make it easy for them to find the item and purchase it.
Advertise where the people who appreciate the product you have chosen to sell. Pre-qualify your intended customers and match the advertising and the item to them.
Don't try to sell a hairless cat to an Alaskan using an ad in a kayaking magazine.
