No business, or no person, that does anything by internet is totally safe from a cyber-attack, just as no person is totally safe from a thief breaking into their house.

What makes a difference is the response as to how the incident was handled.

I used to work for a vending company. Every now and then I would come to a coke machine and see that someone had tried to break in. Over the years the coke machines have evolved to defeat the methods used to get to the money inside.

Internet hackers are always developing new methods of attack while businesses are always adding new methods of defense.

You should be proud AND confident in the quick response and defensive measures that SFI employed to protect everyone involved.

How can we reassure our downline to continue their activity with SFI after the recent cyber-attack?


After all that have happened with the recent cyber-attack, everyone has the right to have some level of concern about the security of their business. It is only natural! However, we must each understand that we do not live and operate in a vacuum. When a business is booming in size and profitability it becomes more attractive to investors and hackers alike. Hackers will go at any length to test the security of a business from whom much can be gained and we all were witnesses to this. Remember Target in December when 40 million persons credit and debit information were accessed? Well, people are still shopping right? Here are some more organisations that were hacked in 2013.

...and the list goes on. Now, how many of these sites do we still use without thinking twice?

What we must concern ourselves with is the ability of SFI is detect, analysis and remedy the attack in a speedy and efficient manner. As soon as SFI detected the problem we were all notified by email and were encouraged to change our password. Also, we were encouraged to seek the services of organisations such as Lifelock to help protect our identity online. We were then asked to verify our devices each time we signed in on a new device, as a measure of ensuring that our account was not been accessed by some dishonest individual.

At the end of the day, we are all members of a business that is strong, effective, and has the welfare of its members a priority.

So inform your downline that SFI like the above mentioned businesses is active, reactive, proactive, and lastly resilient.

You can let on to your downline that cyber attack is not limited to SFI alone. In fact, tell them that the very best sites on the Web are always subjected to regular cyber attacks. Even government agencies belonging to the most powerful countries in the world get attacked very often, The key for reassurance is to expect the attacks and be prepared to act fast when they occur. That is exactly what Gery and his SFI teams were able to do. That they could contain the attack within 48 hours is a clear indication that SFI is a very good online business with excellent managers.

Let your downline know that just as SFI and TripleClicks were attacked, Ebay, Amazon, Twitter, Banks’sites and many other sites get attacked even on daily basis. They must know that because of cyber attacks, Facebook recently had the personal data of over 200 million of its users stolen. The list of victims is endless. What is reassuring in SFI is its own ability to contain the attacks when they occur and the avoidance of painful losses to affiliates and even the elimination of permanent damage to affiliates’ sites. Did you also see the advice given to us which related to a CNN news item last December when a similar incident affected another big business? We can now prove that we survived and grew stronger. All necessary measure were put into effect immediately taking nothing for granted. Like only a handful of top CEOs who I've known in my short time online (33 years) Gery personally took steps to be seen answering many questions and making certain news was sent out to all keeping them informed. Communicate with them. Assure them that you have the utmost confidence in SFI and that is why you are staying with SFI.

You can start by point out to your downline that as soon as the trouble started SFI was onto it. They were exact and decisive. They did not procrastinate.

The actions they took were exactly what one would expect a professional organisation to take.

The security systems that SFI had in place prior to the cyber-attack were far more than adequate, however cyber criminals are constantly coming up with new methods of hacking into systems and are constantly probing and testing websites. Obviously they were able to breach SFIs security.

This does not reflect poorly on SFI. The most successful organisations in the world are constantly under attack by cyber criminals. This is a kind of a back handed compliment to SFI. The more successful we become, unfortunately, the more cyber criminal pay attention to us. There will be more attacks in the future because we are becoming more and more successful.

Point out to your downline that the systems that SFI put into place prevented the business from getting into trouble and the affiliates from suffering losses. These security measures were put in place pretty smartly.

It shows that the people at SFI are very serious about this business and really do care about the affiliates and their businesses.

Their communication to all the members and the way they dealt with the threat epitomises professionalism: - Each and every member were clearly informed of what was happening; There were daily updates; Members were informed that their earning capability regarding daily VPs and VP streaks were protected and they were.

In the recent cyber attack, a number of us were affected. I for one, had to go through some trouble changing my registered email account from Hotmail to Yahoo, and finally to Gmail, before I could log back in onto the SFI platform.

It's been more than 2 weeks now and I seem to have lost a few of my regular affiliates. I don't see them appearing on my Movers board anymore. I sent them emails but there's no response. There could be various reasons why they remain quiet, or simply, it's a sign that they are not returning to business (anymore, or just yet, hopefully).

I thought about this and said to myself, cyber attacks on the internet space are going to get more and more rampant, just like break-ins, thefts or scams happening at our physical stores. We need to take the necessary precautions to prevent such nasty intrusions from happening, but there is always a chance that it could happen again.

DO NOT PANIC. Accept such risks as part of our business. While Gery and his support team work their due diligence, we as business owners, need to take our own precautions too. Start by using a strong password for your login (use password that is of at least 8 characters, with capital, symbol and alphanumeric combination). Practice healthy habits such as changing your password every 90 days, logging off properly from your computer, and keeping your antivirus software up todate. I would also recommend that we transfer our earnings out from SFI regularly, on a monthly basis once commissions hit in if you can. Let your risks be "calculated risks". But don't let such things scare you off. Just do what you need to do and move on. Focus.

Also, SEE THE OPPORTUNITIES. SFI catches the attention of cyber hackers because it is a worthy target. This gives me the assurance that I am indeed building my business with a worthy company. Seize the day and build your business rapidly. The opportunities to earn through SFI are plentiful and they are REAL. Hence we attract the hackers' attention.

Encourage your affiliates. But ultimately, they need to decide for themselves if they would remain ignorant, or if they would make hay while the sun shines.

Crisis occurs in life at any level. How a person thinks and acts determines his rational, mental balance & leadership qualities. This is true for any corporate also. Again for the corporate crisis, men behind the scenes are individual persons who are entrusted to act.

Hacking or cyber attack is the new crimes which are targeted against successful enterprises. SFI under attack shows the popularity it has gained.

The SFI corporate esp. The President had taken various measures to arrest the loss and plug all loopholes. Being an international and with millions of people connected, it takes tremendous pressure to rectify the situation. All of are grateful to SFI in quickly reacting to the situation and bringing the situation under control. SFI also kept everyone updated on the situation.
To protect everyone, security measures taken as corrective and preventive action.

This shows SFI's leadership and responsibility towards its members.

We can reassure our downline from the various messages sent by the president, security for updating the devices, password changes etc as being SAFE to continue their activity. if a robbery occurs in our house, we DO NOT leave the house-we take measures to increase the security. With the biggest success of SFI, it is not surprising that many cyber criminals will try to either steal or destroy SFI and its affiliates.

Last month, my commission was stolen by a hacker but this incident has increased my trust in SFI. SFI have recovered my stolen commission and gave it back to me.

I am always reading Gery's updates on this cyber attacks and I am discussing them with my downlines. This is the way I reassured them and not to be dismayed because SFI has the capacity and knowledge how to counter these attacks.

SFI does not only counter the attacks technically thought their IT professionals but is in fact cooperating with FBI to bring the culprit to justice.

So this is what I do to encourage my downline to just continue with their activity with SFI; I am emphasizing to them the confidence that I have with SFI since I joined 1 and half years ago. I am telling them my experiences with SFI, like the one I mentioned above.

For those of you who don't have much experience yet with SFI to share, you can build the confidence of your downlines by sharing the actions that SFI is doing for this latest cyber attack.

The most importantly, assist them personally on how to get back to their normal activities. In my my case I have 5 affiliates who had problem logging in, I contacted them through skype and assisted them until they regain back their access.
