When enrolling in a “work at home business,” like SFI and TripleClicks, you more than likely signed up under someone who was running an ad that you responded to. That person who enrolled you is now your sponsor. Also known as your Up-line or your Team Leader.

One of the first things that you should do as a new affiliate is to get the attention of your sponsor. The ball is in your court at this time. The reason I say this is because your sponsor may be very active in business building and enrolling many new affiliates weekly or daily.

The best way to get the attention of your sponsor is to respond to their mailings to you. Don’t just read the emails they send you, respond back by asking questions or making comments. You should also “white list” your sponsors email address so that none of his/her emails to you end up in your spam file.

Remember your sponsor is not a mind reader – In other words, if you are having problems in one area of your new home business your sponsor will not know how to help you if you are not communicating with him/her. Nothing makes a sponsor feel better than receiving a request for help from one of the teammates in the group.

I know a lot of affiliates will tell you to get on your sponsors top ten “Movers list” by logging in daily and working your “to-do” list. There is just one problem with this advice and that is your personal sponsor may have a few thousand affiliates in his/her team. Their movers list may have up to 50 or more affiliates listed who have been in SFI for a couple of years and have thriving businesses and are constantly in contact with their sponsor. It could take you quite a long time to work your way up to your sponsor’s top ten teammates.

I say the best way to gain maximum support from you sponsor and up-line is to think of how you would want your own down-line teammates contacting you and asking for your advice and support, think of how you would want your down-line teammates to attract your attention then turn all that around and do the same towards your sponsor. I personally believe that is the best way to attract attention.

It will help tremendously if you personally are active in your business building activities because if you do attract your sponsor’s attention they will probably check your VP ledger and see what you are presently doing. If they see good reports as to logging in every day and earning the VP that is needed to succeed then your chances of getting the kind of help you want is greater.

You must realize that support from your sponsor will not make or break your business. If you have a non-responsive sponsor don’t panic! You have many resources within SFI to gain all the assistance that you need to build a successful home business. To get the maximum support of your upline is to:
1. Be a consistent Active affiliate.
2. Be part of your sponsor's movers tab. That's one way to know that you are serious about the business.
3. Relate well with them and ask questions where you need help.
4. Connect with them. Many relate, but Few Connect. It is only by connecting with your uplines can you receive maximum support. How do you connect?
-reach out to them. Contact them via email, SFI Chatroom if they are online or through Teammail.

Gaining maximum support from your sponsor/upline needs ‘it takes two to tangle’ approach, where you will need to position yourself to receive support and your sponsor will be ready and willing to give you the appropriate support. This also means that you need to encourage your sponsor and upline members to provide assistance and support, in order to prepare both of you for mutual cooperation and coordination.

In light of the above, the question will be how do you prepare and position yourself to gain that required support from your upline? Below are some suggestions:

1. Ensure you are learning the nitty-gritty of this business in order to prepare you to ask pertinent questions and request appropriate support. This is one of the ways to show your upline that you are enthusiastic in developing an understanding of this business, which will consequently encourage them to deploy all resources within their capability to support you.

2. You need to do your best to login daily where possible and update yourself with the latest news and updates regarding the operations of SFI/TC. This understanding will help boost your ability to progress and consequently draw the attention of your upline.

3. Upline members appreciate hard working and visible team members, so be productively visible by participating in the forum, Ask SC, chat, a2a etc. These levels of participation will make you more visible to your upline and you may be able to earn their respect and trust, especially if they have a large downline which makes the tracking of all members difficult.

4. Be punctual and seek to earn all available VP you can earn in order to be on your sponsor’s Movers, because some sponsors are more attentive to the Movers in their teams. This is essential because your sponsor may be encouraged to follow your progress and render support accordingly.

5. You need to respond to their messages where needed and necessary, in order to encourage them to pay more attention to you because some may be discouraged by team members who do not reciprocate, one way or the other if required.

6. Again, strive to compete for challenges like the E365 contest, sponsor contests, country and class Leaders board. I am not suggestion you should unnecessarily inconvenience yourself to please anyone, but that your show of strength is helpful to your business success, which will in turn give your upline more motivation to support your efforts as much as possible.

7. You need not be shy or sceptical to always ask them for appropriate support and guidance and do not always wait for them to get to you first. This is particularly helpful because it is mostly you who really knows where your shoe itches, since your upline members are not magicians.

8. It is good business strategy to participate in other relevant forums by which you can relate with your upline like Skype, webinars, local physical meetings, social networks, telephone etc. Please be at alert in case your participation is outside the pursuit of your SFI business and if so, discontinue.

9. Do not put your upline off by asking irrelevant, outrageous, un-business like and unprofessional support. You must always see them as business partners who are willing to guide and support your business, rather than them working your business for you.

10. You should try your best to duplicate the efforts/success of your sponsor and other upline members, by doing for your downline what they are doing for you where you can. This is because it will help you build an active downline which will be productive to both yourself and your upline. The benefit your upline derive from your downline also serve as impetus for their maximum support which you crave.

11. Always develop the habit of saying ‘thank you’ to their efforts and support. You may mistakenly underestimate the power of ‘thank you’ but it motivates and encourages your upline to feel good and do more because appreciation is another sign of conveying satisfaction.

In conclusion, I must add that irrespective of what you do to attract maximum support from members of your upline, some may be unfortunately un-supportive and may not act on these impulses, but will rather remain complacent and develop clay feet, notwithstanding. As an active affiliate, we should have immediate support from our direct, closest upline (sponsor and co-sponsor). For higher Upline ranks, some initiative of our part may be necessary.

If they are awesome, effective sponsor and co-sponsor, our direct closest upline will be immediately aware when we join their team. Our sponsor will get notifications of our registration, when we complete our profile, and when we sent them a commitment letter.

Our co-sponsor will also be aware as soon as we are added to their Second Home CSAs.

To gain maximum support from your sponsor, I highly recommend that you react to the messages and other forms of communication he sends to you (for example, welcome letter, E-Cards, SFI IM chat requests, team mail, and the like). Your sponsor will highly appreciate your feedback, your positive comments and your questions. They are various forms by which you are letting him/her know that you welcome their efforts to help you and you value them.

More importantly, be regular and constant in building your own business. If you log in every day, work thoroughly your to-do list, bid on auctions, play the Eager Zebra game, make the efforts of sponsoring new affiliates, your activity will put you up among your sponsor and co-sponsor's top "movers."

Your sponsor may organize contests. Make sure your are an active participant and strive to distinguish yourself with excellent results in them.

When any member of your Upline wins at the Daily Grand, their name will appear on the winners list that will display on your page. They will appreciate that you send them a congratulations E-Card for the occasion. You are also among their followers at the Forum. Do not hesitate to comment on their forum posts, or compliment them for their active Forum participation.

These are some of the ways you can attract the attention of your higher rank Upline, beside your sponsor and co-sponsor.

All the above will make you highly visible to your Upline. They will find it stimulating and rewarding to provide you with all the support they can. They all know that they have vested interest in your success.

However, your success should be based mostly on your own efforts, using all the support resources and tools available within SFI. There are numerous highly successful affiliates who are not getting any form of support, even remote, intermittent contacts with their upline. This has not been detrimental to their progress and success.

It is nice to have adequate upline support; but it is not is a condition to succeed with SFI.

From my experience with SFI business, I believe you do not need to do anything extraordinary to gain maximum support from your upline. What you need do is the little routine things SFI recommends you do to grow your business. Do not forget that your upline is an affiliate too just like you. He/She is also someone else’s downline. If you know exactly what you as an affiliate expects from your downline, do those exact same things and you will gain the support of your upline. Every upline I know wants his/her downline to succeed in SFI. This is because if the downline is succeeding, the upline succeeds as well. Specifically, I believe if do the following diligently, you will automatically gain the support of your upline.

1. Be serious and diligent with your SFI business.
2. Pay real attention to duplication.
3. Advertise and promote your SFI business very robustly.
4. Stay in touch with your upline by initiating communications.
5. Remember to assist your upline mark his/her anniversaries.
6. Find ways to also motivate your upline as much as you can.
7. Join the co-operative of your upline if there is any.
8. Help promote the products from your upline if he/she is also an ECA.
9. Relate with your upline as you will relate with any business partner.
10. Do not be ashamed to ask your upline for help if and when you need it.

I have no doubt in my mind that if you do the foregoing with all seriousness and sincerity, you will not only endear yourself to your upline, you will gain maximum support from him/her.

The majority of my downline joined SFI without any experience in network marketing. As a sponsor and Team Leader, I always made it clear that they have started to own a real business and that there is work involved. I let them know right away through my welcome message that I would be always available to fully support them to ensure their success.

I assume that every sponsor and Team Leader knows his/her responsibility of training, coaching, mentoring and supporting his/her downline. Your question could mean, you’re lacking confidence or you don’t feel that you’re getting all the support you need to grow your SFI business.

I think you should consider the mindset of being an entrepreneur. People who pioneered in SFI, who successfully run their own SFI business until now may have nothing to depend on as they get started.

When figuring out your own approach to the challenges of running your SFI business, it can help to learn from the experiences of others, but you should not be depending alone on that resource. Instead you can also do the following:

- You’re maximizing your potential of growing your SFI business which means, you’re not missing a single day performing your To-Do List, consistently investing on your training and widening of your knowledge base to acquire the skills needed for sponsoring, maintaining your EA status and moving up to TL rank according to The Plan (emphasized support of EA2s, BTLs, STLs, etc)

- The intensity level of your activities should be clearly seen through your participation in EZ games acquiring EZ badges.

- Actively participating in SFI Forum by sharing your knowledge and experience, asking and answering questions for the development and growth of your SFI business.

- Regularly contributing to the Ask SC by asking/answering questions to the best of your knowledge.

- You should establish close relationship with your upline by being responsive to his/her messages asking questions or giving your comments. By just giving your feedback of “Thank you” for congratulating you on your Daily Grand winnings or re-qualifying to EA/TL rank will make him/her feel good and connected with you.

If you’ve been passionate and enthusiastic in growing your business, you’ll get noticed by your upline. As an example, my upline posted on Stream, congratulating me for reaching 500k votes. This clearly shows that upline notices your achievements, which gives you the occasion to communicate your concerns to him/her.

Generally, Sponsors/Team Leaders are responsible for training and supporting their downlines. It is their best interest to give their maximum support to their affiliates. Both Sponsors/Team Leaders and downlines need to have mutual understanding in regards to training and supporting. Sponsors/Team Leaders must have the skill to coach, mentor and train their affiliates, showing them how to lay the groundwork, the initial phase of their affiliates’ journey with SFI. They can then provide training and support in a regular basis giving their tips and advice to their downlines. But it is the duty for every individual affiliate to dig deeper and utilize all the resources provided by their upline extensively.

Additionally your upline is not the only source for support; you have the SFI desk 24 hours, 7 days a week, SFI Forum, Ask SC and A2A friends.

There is nothing like getting maximum or minimum support. Do you get support? That's all.

But everything depends on affiliates. Many sponsors are willing to support and help. But unfortunately, there exists a lack of communication between the two.

If you communicate with your up line especially your Sponsor and establish a good working understanding certainly you should be able to get lot of tips and suggestions which can help you to grow your business.

At the same time, if you are timid or shy or unable to communicate due to language barrier, etc with your Sponsor or up line then you will not be able spell out what exactly you require. The result will be, you will not be able to get adequate support from them.

The next point is, you should remain active on a daily basis and your up line should be able to see you in their Movers List. This will naturally attract their attention more. By this, they will be able to understand your requirement and will come to your support with clear tips and strategies.

You should be a consistent performer in all areas of SFI Business like Team Building, Contribution in Forum, Taking part in various EZ Games, etc.

The more your up line see you active in all these areas, they will be able to guide you appropriately.

Conclusion:

In short, if you want to gain maximum support from your up line to grow your SFI business:

THE REVERSE IS ALSO TRUE

It's through communication that you can teach your affiliates and your upline and how to succeed in SFI (i.e. duplication). And it's through communication that you'll build relationships with your affiliates and of course with upline — which is very, very important.

Think about it. Do YOU want to make money for someone who offers no support or assistance? Of course not. It's the same thing with the affiliates you sponsor. If they feel you do not care about them, they will not want to build their businesses because they will not want to see their hard work benefiting some stranger they never hear from.

Now, you may be new to business. You may feel you have nothing to offer in the way of training. That's OK, you can learn and grow into the leader role over time. And, after all, all the training your affiliates need is at the SFI Affiliate Center.

But what you must never do is allow your affiliates to think their sponsor (you) is uncaring. If you do that, if you do not communicate with your affiliates, success will be a hundred times harder to attain.
OK, so HOW do you communicate with your affiliates? How do you make sure they know you are out there and available to assist them?

COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR UPLINE

1. Through email messages.
2. Through Personal Messages
3. Through e-cards.
4. Through Social Media Networks
5. Ask them for guidance whenever you are in doubt.
6. Praise your upline if they respond back to you.
7. Communication both ways is very important.
8. Your progress in SFI business would accelerate if you and your upline are always in touch.

Affiliates have always been dependent on their upline sponsors for support without them having the plans to do something that will make them noticeable. Moreover no sponsor will spend time on an affiliate and will also want to waste his/her resources on an affiliate who would not help grow the team and business.

So many other Affiliates have been receiving support and help though from their upline sponsor. Its either they have earned it or the Sponsor saw greatness in them because of the Affiliate activities. Doing some certain things will help the Sponsor notice your efforts and would definitely want to support you.These are the few things I will advice if you want your Upline Sponsor to notice you and give you maximum support.

- Become EA:

For anyone to be on the list of any Sponsor for support, you must have been qualifying for at least EA every month. This is necessary because this way, your sponsor can always keep tabs on you VP ledger to see if you would need just little help every month to become a Team Leader. This way you are contributing to the growth of your sponsors team in term of the Matching VP your sponsor receives from the VP you have gathered

- Daily Action:

If a Sponsor must identify someone who needs help or deserves a gift, it has to be someone who login daily to do his/her daily actions. Besides the basis to succeeding in the business involves login daily to carry out all the daily actions. Its going to be a sign of seriousness, and it will help the Sponsor to focus on such affiliate especially when he/she needs help. Not all sponsor will want to waste resources on one that does not show interest in the business. So, if you login daily and you think your sponsor should be able to help, just ask for it.

- Fast Track:

Like I said earlier, just by doing few things you earn your self an extra spot of receiving support from your sponsor. Become a Fast Track member as soon as possible, Why? Because you are adding up some extra VP upto 20% of your total VP to your Sponsor Total Matching VP. Now its a give and take, this will help your sponsor notice you, view how many PSAs you need to help you become a Team Leader, this way he/she can transfer affiliates to your downline to also help you. It also add more colours to you and your sponsor because his/her FT affiliates increases. Your sponsor gets a notification of earning a bonus Tcredit whenever you win Tcredits in the eager zebra game.

- Eager Games:

Always enter to play the eager zebra games, win auctions, win Tcredits and let him see you as a very active PSA, he would always want to render any help you require.

- Be inquisitive:

Always ask questions about what and what you don't know. Ask questions about advertisement, marketing. How you can grow your team. Ask how He/She was abe to make it in the business. Ask for his area of strength so you too can follow. Always reassure im/her that you can become a Team Leader or a active member of the Team. This way he/she will always want to give you support needed at anytime.

Never forget, for any reasonable sponsor to dedicate his time to giving you a maximum support, you must have been at your best and very active in the team. And also always keep in ming that you need to be independent, you own your business do all you can to make it.
