For example

Marketing applies to finding a solution to customers' or prospective customers' needs. For one to succeed if SFI, there is need to find buyers of products so that one enjoys commissions and Sales VersaPoints which means income.

For new affiliate, I would encourage them to take their time to go through all the getting started, basic and launchpad lessons so that they acquaint themselves with adequate knowledge on how the system works. They should also know payment terms available to customers on how to make payment if they do not have access to online payment facilities like credit cards, or debit cards so that they can advise in case of requests on the same.

They use SFI marketing aids available in this program. Alternatively, they use both SFI advertising ECA's or advertising programs other than SFI.

After starting their marketing efforts, they should assess which method brings out results and concentrate on it.

To succeed in SFI, advertising is the key. However, as a beginner your advertising budget may be lean hence free advertising is the bail-out.

There are a number of free advertising opportunities on the internet where you can advertise your SFI biz for FREE! By familiarizing oneself with their use, one can promote any business online with zero advertising budget. These include:

1. Email Advertising
This is one of the effective ways of reaching thousands of prospective customers. Sending email to thousands of people does not necessarily make it a spam. There are opt-in-lists, where members have agreed to receive email from fellow members. You should just register with another email ID apart from your regular one to receive email campaign from others. You too can send email on a regular basis. Besides, you can build your own list from people you have interacted with before.

2. Email Provider Groups
Most Email provider have groups, where members interact with one another. Providers like yahoo, goggle, hot mail etc have groups on all subjects, business, finance, health etc. Join them free and begin to share ideas (of course with your referral gateway) with them. With yahoo group, you can even send direct message to members of the group.

3. Forums

Most of us have had marketing experience, whether we know it or not.

If you have worked for a company, you have marketed anytime you have helped a customer or made a sale. We all do our best to represent our company(s) every day we go to work – that is marketing. The secret is knowing your company really well and then getting to know your customers.

And we can all always learn more!

If you have a PSA or CSA who confides that they do not know the 1st thing about marketing you would want to find out just what they mean by that.

Communicating with your affiliates to get a feel for what they have done in the past or are currently doing would give you a start on how much education he/she will need.

You could develop a short questionnaire with questions like: 1) What does marketing mean to you? 2) Have you ever marketed professionally? 3) What is your best way to learn – reading, video or hands-on?

Answers to those questions (and others you could think of) would help you to develop a training program or make suggestions for your PSA/CSA’s to follow up on in order to get off to a good start with their marketing education.

Suggest that they utilize all of the training articles available on SFI. Encourage he/she to look up marketing on the internet and/or possibly take additional training that they find. You could even put together some training for them and offer it to all of your PSA/CSA’s participate.

Finally, encourage your affiliate to really learn what SFI is all about and what a potential customer is looking for.

This is a process. None of this will be done overnight. There is a lot to learn about SFI and potential customers.

In general, a typical consumer is looking for the answer to a question. SFI answers the question(s) of what to do to make extra money, how to make money from home, how to have a successful business, how to run a business and so much more.

In a nutshell, the affiliate needs to learn:
1) What SFI is all about (what we offer)
2) What a potential customer is looking for (what is their question? What are they looking for?)
3) How to answer their (customer) questions or give them what they are looking for (sign up
with SFI and/or TripleClicks)
4) How to get it out there that these answers can be found from that particular affiliate
(advertising their gateways and other affiliate links)

There is no magical way to make someone know how to do something and marketing is an ongoing process. Products and services change all the time as do marketing methods. This will be a commitment that the affiliate will need to make as long as he/she plans to be successful.

Education and keeping current with the business and methods are really the only ways to help someone start a successful marketing career.

There you will find a treasure trove of marketing methods that range from ways a beginner can easily handle and on up to advanced methods. There are currently 98 listed methods but I suppose that Gery probably won't stop adding until he's given us well over a hundred.

Now think about this for a minute. There are ninety-eight methods listed. I'm certainly not going to bore you to tears by listing out and commenting on all of them. Instead I'll say that I've been marketing online for so long that I don't need to stick with the beginner methods - but I have gone back to some of them!

I blog on my own domains and I have the twitter/facebook/digg/stumbleon/etc accounts to micro-blog on but I ALSO just ordered some SFI-X cards too. I want to give some of those beginner methods a try because SFI has thoughtfully provided us with some GREAT tools to do our job brilliantly - Even those new at marketing!

You have created an ad on AdWords, an Article Marketing, a Banner advertising or Post on your blog? Whatever your means of visibility, instead of sending visitors directly to the official website of the product, as it was once, send it to a special page Pre-Sale created by you, that contains some "Testimonials" or your judgments and criticisms Product. This definitely will help to raise the interest of the people, who will trust TE, your experience CUSTOMER Product, rather than the official page of Trade, which of course is made to sell and is not always credible.

"Hide Your Affiliate Link"

Some visitors, especially the more experienced, once read your review about a product, may NOT be trusted if they see an Affiliate Link, because they understand your secondary interest in promoting it. E 'can avoid this by hiding your Affiliate Link, with specific tools and techniques.

"Mailing List"

Build YOUR Mailing List on the niche market of the product that you want to sell. When I read this question I can't help but smile and shake my head (at myself)

I will tell you what I did to make it clear what you should not do.

I discovered SFI and after my initial scepticism I got caught up and jumped in head first boots and all I was as green as you could be with no marketing experience - come to think of it, I don't think I even realised that marketing was what I was suppose to do. I was all over the place the first 2 months and I was happy with myself (qualifying as EA with no problem at all) Then in month 3 I realised I am missing something. I was forced to slow down and start asking questions, following my sponsors instructions and definitely go back and start all over.

When you are finished doing that you move to the black bar and start reading there.

When you go to the Marketing tab SFI gives you the tools to use and they tell you how to use them.

Fact is - once you start learning and using what is available to you, you learn as you go.
Just have a look - you will find tutorials, articles, videos, all kinds of tools - everything you need to learn and to build your business is right here - just use it.

Once you know how to use everything you can start adding your own little gems and get creative. Also keep in mind - the internet is constantly evolving, new sites, new technology, new trends - so I don't think you would ever be able to say I know it all.

My final word of advice - Please don't rush in head over heels like I did - first get to know what it is about and use what SFI provides.
