5) Stores as: resale stores, retail stores, grocery stores, etc. flea markets, etc.

I also suggest that you print out TripleClicks flyers. You can then explain to the business owners how they can become an ECA and post items on your TripleClicks website to sell and make extra income. There are many ways to use printed flyers to attract the specified target audiences. I will focus on no or low cost ways that any affiliate, new or experienced may utilize to increase referrals.

1. Distribute where you shop: We all use the supermarket and most of us have a favourite supermarket where we have established relationships with workers and even frequent shoppers. I have a good rapport with the cashiers and packers at the supermarkets that I frequent. Leaving a few flyers to distribute to their customers is a good idea. I tip the packers for assisting me to my car and they could be asked to distribute the flyers to other customers.
2. Newspaper Vendors: Find out the days when the newspapers in your neighbourhood have the heaviest circulation and enlist the help of newspaper vendors to place a flyer per newspaper. In my country, the Friday newspaper is heavily focused on business and finance. Place the ECA flyer in this publication. Monday publications deal with lifestyle which is suited for PRM referrals while Sunday, which has the largest distribution could focus on PSA referrals. This approach attempts to target specific interests based on the predominant focus of the publication. You may wish to agree a small sum with the vendors to ensure they take the task seriously.
3. Small Business Fora: Many countries have small business umbrella groups/associations and other formal support mechanisms in place specifically targeted at micro, small and medium sized businesses. The best method or variety of methods to use will depend largely on your locality and your circumstances.

The general method is to print out the flyers and post them on business bulletin boards and other places in your community. You will need to obtain the permission of the operators/owners of these business and community boards.

If you have a generous advertising budget you can have a large number of flyers printed and then
- have them sent out as inserts on home delivery newspapers etc.,
- put in post office mail boxes,
- leave flyers at offices and waiting areas such as clinics etc..
- leave flyers where young people and those looking for work gather
- if possible go for a walk and put them in street mail boxes outside people’s homes yourself
- greet people you meet and hand them a flyer
- you can go to markets, sports grounds – anywhere people gather and hand out the flyers yourself.

You can use the same method to attract PSA and PRM but with ECA in addition, you can also visit the local businesses and hand the flyers over to the person in charge.

Remember, always ask permission to post the flyers on boards or to leave flyers in waiting rooms etc. Do not forget to revisit these places, keep in contact with the owners, if a fee is required, pay it and replenish flyers as necessary.

I do three things with fliers/business cards.

1. I go to the local English Study schools and I distribute business cards with nothing on them but my prestige domain link for SFI gateway. it is finally(dot)profitsonline(dot)com self explanatory and received by people who want to learn and use English.

2. I print a bookmark for local English 2nd hand bookstores. On one side is the bookstore info, on the other is my prestige domain or a free gift card offer. They stick the book mark in every book sold.

3. I take business cards or write down the email of local shops. I visit there website, if they have one, so I know more about their needs. Most have items for sale on their website, but no way to purchase the item electronically. And the website has dead links or is incomplete. I then email them and say. "I was visiting your shop and think that you have many products you could sell to a wider audience online. Do you current sell products online? I would like to stop by your store and show you what I do. No worries, I am not looking for you to buy my services. It is free." Then I hand deliver an ECA flier.

Printed flyers are a great way to make your errands become business boosting trips.

If you do laundry at a laundry mat or dry cleaners they usually have a bulletin board you can post a flyer on.

When you are grocery shopping look for a board there too.

If you ride the bus or subway the booths and stations often have places you can post a flyer.

You can hand them to people at the park, or hang one on the board at the local diner.

You can go to the commons areas of most college campuses and pass out flyers there as well as hang them at off campus locations like Bowling Alleys and local bars where boards are often available.

At the mall you can place flyers under the wipers of nearby cars.

For a few bucks you can have them added to the local newspaper as circulars. This is a very cost effective way of getting your ads seen.

You can find them at some stores and you should talk with a member of management before you place your flyer on the bulletin board. Stores don't want to create clutter nor promote for their competition. So speak with a manager and assure them that what you offer does not conflict with the store's brands. Skipping this step can get you in hot water and at the least your flyer will wind up in the trash can.

Churches also have bulletin boards. Again, be cautious because some of the presbytery will not want anything but church related events and functions on the board. So speak with the person in charge of the postings and get permission to put a flyer on the board.

Finally, remember the key to passing out literature is to get permission first. Never leave your flyers in places where someone may become offended and flag the corporate image of the company. Most government buildings don't allow solicitation so please don't do it. This includes a lot of public places too like parks, and libraries.
