I'm an ECA wanting to sell my products internationally. How do I determine how much to charge for shipping to other countries that is fair to both me and my customers?
What I did, I packaged one of each product that I have in inventory the way I would ship the product and went to the post office. They gave me a firm cost on each package Nationally and internationally. The other products are drop shipments so the manufacture of those products are paying for that and if there is a cost to me they provide it before I list the item.

I recommend doing research on the products you want to ship. Shipping costs are based on the total weight of the package, where the item is going to be shipped and which shipping method you have to use. Don't forget to include the price of packaging the product if you have to do it yourself, as different products are packed differently and also check chances of whether are you going to have to pay duties/customs charges when the package arrives. I can't give names here, if you google, you can find companies and others can do quotation online.

To calculate the shipment price, you should contact to Shipment Service you will use. You should ask for those countries which have more customers for you, then calculate all charges per country. Then make average cost per shipment, then charge that cost, this cost will be more suitable for you as well as for your customer.
Products can be shipped out by air cargo or by air courier. In domestic market it can be sent by local pick up couriers.
While determining the cost of shippin charges,, most of the aircargo and air couriers have a standard rate based on weight of the package and the space it occupies.For fragile products there is a separate standard rates.
Thus by collecting rates from different operators you can fix up your shipping charges. some operators also offer discounts based on the bussiness you give.

You should look into what you are selling and also find out how much these products might be selling for internationally.
If you sell something for example $10.00 the buyer does not want to pay $500.00 dollars for shipping as they can probably then get it locally for even less.

I think, the first thing to do is go to your post office and ask how much is the standard courier and the special delivery fees as well when delivering, international.
Then if there are other international courier services in your country, then you can also canvass on the prices for standard and special rates.
This way, both the buyer and the seller are not charged with extra cost for shipment.
Here in the United States, it's easy. Weigh the product, and put the appropriate values in the shipping details. Then select the option to let TripleClicks calculate the charges. It hasn't come up for me yet, but I would imagine they'd use USPS charge calculations since those tend to be the best values. Otherwise you have to enter data for each country separately, which can get quite time-intensive.

what you charge for the product and how much the shipping and handling
will cost depending on how you choose to ship it. Also think about how much

Myself, I would contact your local post office or go and get a copy of their rates per country, as it may vary. Or there may be a website through the postal service to find exactly what you need.
