This is a very difficult issue to tackle particularly when you know that at some point you too were faced with this same dilemma. It makes no economic sense to keep telling anyone to keep putting money in a business when they are not receiving commensurately. However, in SFI, optimism is the main key to success in the business. If you are able to find a practical way to keep up the optimism of your PSAs, it is possible to prevent them from quitting the business even if they are putting in more than they are receiving.

My advice is that you should open up very sincere communications with your PSAs if you notice any form of apathy. Let them know that you too had been in a similar situation in the past but you persevered that is why you are where you are today. Teach them the skills and offer them some tips to minimize what they are putting in the business. Specifically, advise them that:

1. They should not aspire to higher ranks above EA monthly until they deepen their downlines.
2. They can earn EA monthly through more of Action Points than Sales Points.
3. They should leverage on any opportunity they have to cut costs.
4. They should remember that the business is theirs alone and should therefore desist from competing with anyone.
5. They should always consider costs/benefits before taking any action.
6. They should remain focused and optimistic because SFI business is not a get-rich-quick business. It takes time and plenty of efforts to build the business.
7. They should try to interact with fellow affiliates at the a2a and forums to share in their experiences.
8. They should read more and learn more about the business.
9. The only money they should put in the business is what they can spare or afford to lose.
10. They should never spend any money they don’t have for the sake of the business.

Let them know that if they follow your advice, they can minimize risks and material losses in the business. That way, it is possible to stay on in the business hopeful that things will turn around with time. That is how it plays out for every affiliate who has made it in SFI business and theirs can not be different.

On lighter mood, the single most important thing you should be doing as a new Team Leader is LEADING. Ump!!! Well, it is you who asked for “the single most important thing.” There it is, just LEAD, that’s all. Talking seriously, to LEAD requires a lot of responsibilities. First and foremost you must endeavor to be a friend as well as a mentor. All these require a lot of leadership skills.

In this business, it is SFI's job to provide the infrastructure for building your own business. Your own job as a sponsor (or a co-sponsor) to those individuals in your team, is to provide the personal, one-on-one relationships so vital to your home-business success. That is why you must be ready to LEAD.

You lead by making sure every Affiliate in your team has checked out the actions outlined in the To-Do List at their SFI homepage. Assist them as they proceed through these steps. Make sure their questions are answered correctly and promptly. Getting started is the hardest part of the journey. Guide your team members through that journey skillfully and diligently. Your job as a sponsor or a co-sponsor is to be available to your team members. Make sure that you are there to offer friendly guidance and support in a timely manner for all Affiliates in your team to start out and make progress in their SFI business. It takes good leadership skills to be able to do all these.

As a new Team Leader, the single most import thing you should be doing is to provide leadership for your team.

If anyone has had pretty bad experiences on the internet, you will have to be very tactful to be able to convince them to try SFI. Start by admitting to the fellow that the internet world or cyberspace is full of good businesses and bad businesses. That there are also plenty of scams masquerading as businesses on the internet. Remind the fellow that as the saying goes, you do understand that “once bitten, twice shy.” Assert firmly that inspite of the abundance of scams, there are still very legitimate, good and profitable businesses online foremost of which is SFI. Real out the following facts about SFI to support your arguments:

-You can participate in SFI free for as long as you want, with no obligation.
- It is in its 16th successful year as an online business.
- It is a 14-year Bronze member of American Better Business Bureau.
- It has over 1.5 million real time affiliates.
- It has over 2.4 million TripleClicks members.
- It has 118,000+ commissionable products.
- It has 7,072 E-Commerce Affiliates (in 166 countries).

Auctions are auctions anywhere in the world and I do not see any special magic how you can win at the PriceBenders auctions. What matters is that you must have enough TCredits with which to outbid any other participant. To me that is the only trick. However, with differences in time zones, you can decide to bid when big time bidders like those in the Western Hemisphere and the Americas are asleep. That to me is the only trick otherwise you just have to slug it out real time all the time with other bidders.

The best way to win is to outbid every other participant in the auctions. Good news is, the bidding process is automated and that makes it fair and even for all bidders. That way, the system recognizes nobody special. What determines who wins is persistence and resilience. If you can continually remain persistent and resilient in your bidding efforts, no doubt you will win at the PriceBenders auctions.

For me, the most valuable thing i leaned in my first year in SFI is how valuable it is to set GOALS in anything you are doing. These goals can be daily goals, weekly goals, monthly goals and even yearly goals.

With set goals,it is easy for you to monitor your progress along the way. Your set goals tell you when you are lagging behind and when you are doing great. They reveal to you when to make appropriate corrections on time to enable you achieve your goals. Goals-setting has been largely responsible for my own modest achievements in SFI to date. That is my true testimony.

I can say with plenty of confidence that there is no secret for easily qualifying as Team Leader each month in SFI. All you need is hard work and a good plan and you too can easily make TL monthly. That is where the big boys and the big girls in this business are so it is the place to be.

If you have a good plan in place, you can get 2000 VP monthly through sales alone. Thereafter, if you manage to acquire additional 1000 VP action points, pronto you are already Bronze Team Leader, BTL for that month. Acquiring more action VPs takes you way up to STL, GTL and even PTL just like that. There is no secret. Anyone can make it if they do what is required of them by way of hard work and a good plan from month to month. I hope this answers your question? Friend, you are welcome. Simple, just do what an Economics Teacher will do in her first day in class teaching Business Economics 001. Explain to them that just as every profession has its peculiar language and every country has its own currency, so it is in business. Every business has its own peculiar trading patterns and the type of currency it accepts for its business. So it is in SFI. TCredits are peculiar currencies acceptable only in SFI.

Just like money which generally is anything acceptable for the exchange of goods and services, TCredits serve the same purpose in SFI TripleClicks. You can acquire TCredits with any other currency. If acquired, you can then use the TCredits to trade in TripleClicks, participate in auctions and do practically every other business in SFI. With this explanation to someone who has never heard of TCredits, I believe it will be fairly easier for them to understand.

This is a real soul-searching question. No doubt just like me many affiliates at one time or the other thought of quitting this business. Somehow, they remained, that is largely why they are successful today. I too thought of quitting many times out of frustration when I was not making any money. At other times, my PSAs and CSAs were only so in name only. No visible activities whatsoever. Somehow, I remained in the business because SFI Success Rule number 15 kept echoing in my mind.

That rule simply says, “Don’t Quit.” It followed up with these two great quotes:

"Other people and things can stop you temporarily. You're the only one who can do it permanently." -Zig Ziglar

"It's when things get rough and you don't quit that success comes." – Source Unknown

The main reason I persevered without quitting was because the same rule taught me that “The only way to fail in SFI is if you give up.” I was determined and resolved to succeed so I didn’t give up. My persistence has paid off as the rule assured me it was going to. That is my own little story and I think it kind of jells with the stories of many other affiliates who have also persevered.

Let me leave you with other great lessons I learned from SFI Success Rule 15. “And, yes, sometimes it will seem that your efforts are not accomplishing anything, but always remember that even the mightiest oak tree will eventually be felled by the steady chops of even the smallest axe. Persistence always pays off. Worse is the person who does this over and over again. If they had just kept digging instead of moving on to the "next great thing" every few months, they'd already have their gold–and they would have reached it so much sooner!” Need I say more?

Stick with the job my friend no matter the odds. Your own perseverance will see you through.

A blog is essentially an online personal resource whose main purpose is to attract the much-needed traffic of readers/viewers to the site. For online marketers, choice gateways are skillfully inserted on these blog sites to catch the attention of site visitors. To buttress that, tell them that SFI affiliates are REAL people with photographs and verifiable email addresses and even telephone contacts. Convince them that if they join a2a and participate in the forums, they can easily convince themselves that they are dealing with genuine home business people.

To cap it all, tell them that SFI delivers on its promise. The prospects can test this within the first month of joining after which they are free to decide for themselves whether or not the business is legit even without spending any money.
