What do successful Leaders in SFI know and do?
Well, I would say, they first have studied and gone through the Launch Pad Lessons not once but over and over again, because this is supposed to be the first and ultimate powerful tool that SFI has provided us with.
Then, they do is the duplication method and try to explain to their new affiliates that they have to duplicate them but without any force or mental stress so that person never ever feel that he/she is being forced.
This method is working according to me.

Successful leaders first of all know the best way the work is done, and know how to teach their affiliates to do the same thing. They lead by example.
Once they were begginers too, so they know all the confusion the new affiliates are dealing with, so they do their best to help them.
They know how to encourage their PSAs and how to motivate them.

Since one can actually say that a way to get major benefits in SFI is if you actually have a team called your downline and if you bring in more which actively participate you actually earn more and so those who are successful know how to do this and maintain them. Brind in PSA- personally sponsored affiliates they make EA twice and continously and you start earning. it works and so you try it.

In SFI, a successful leader knows the finer points of the business through reading, studying & understanding the training and support supplied by the company and thereafter utilizes this knowledge to assist his business family (PSA's, CSA's, and ECA's etc.)by passing on this knowledge to them for their benefit to grow their business.
