Good question.
You should first learn how to sponsor PSAs, however you can buy them anytime you want as per your budget. Buying PSAs is always optional and it will not gaurantee the activeness of the PSAs.

Learning sponsoring methods will also help you in long run when duplicating your downline because it is not possible to tell every PSA to buy or to set up a standing order due to their financial constraints but you can always tell them about the various free/paid sponsoring methods that worked for you.

Learning and duplicating your sponsoring skill/methods also increases your and downline's leadership skills. More knowledge means a solid base for your team.

Should you buy PSAs or learn how to sponsor them yourself?

For me, its a great idea to buy PSAs to any ECAs or buying them by winning at price bending auctions. Buying them is not an assurance that your network will grow. If you have much budget to invest, I suggest to busy as many PSAs as you can so that if the ratio is 1:100 (a very conservative ratio) meaning, in every 100 PSAs , 1 is active....... if you buy 600 PSAs, at least you have 6 PSAs active and its the time your network will grow. I gave you that ratio because I have 105 CSAs but noone is active.

Learning how to sponsor PSAs yourself is also a great idea because how could you encourage your team member to sponsor affiliates if you yourself don't know how to do it. Remember the word "Duplication". If you will not learn how to sponsor affiliates, there are possibilities that your relatives and friends will be sponsored by others. It is so called PSA because it is Personally Sponsored Afffiliates.

I believe both methods are important. You sponsor an affiliate when you tell a person about SFI and he/she joins. You sponsor affiliates when you purchase them through S-Builder or through co-ops offered by ECAs at TripleClicks. You sponsor them when you advertise, whether through paid methods or through free advertising. You sponsor affiliates when you send an eCard or a gift card to them and they join. You sponsor them when you drive your car with your Wave3 decal on it and hand out a card to them and they join.

Sponsoring is simply having people join in your first level on your Genealogy.

There is only one other thing you should do. Be sure, when you join a co-op or when you advertise on a web site that the site or the company is reputable and has good standing. Also, just know that whether you sponsor a person by face-to-face contact or by advertising or by using the co-ops, including S-Builder, that there is no guarantee that people will really work in this business or just join and do nothing or give up and leave at some point. Your responsibility is to sponsor and help your affiliates by teaching them to do the same. That is called duplication. There are lots of marketing tools here for you to use in your daily business dealings. Choose the ones best suited to you. If you have any ideas on things you would like to see promoted here at SFI for advertising, use the suggestion box to write to Gery Carson. The sharing of ideas is very important, and the open-door policy at SFI is commendable.

I would say that depends entirely on your goals, the time you have to spend on your business, and your budget. I don't see any harm in doing a little of both and I wouldn't say that, statistically speaking, you are better off one way or the other. What you should consider, especially while you're new, is participating in the co-op or purchasing PSAs with about half of whatever your budget is. However, these purchases should not take the place of conventional advertisement as you should be practicing using different methods of advertising as well. In this way you can begin to develop a team more quickly than if you just used one method or the other. As time goes by and you are better at advertising (you've found the spots that yield good results for example), you can transfer the budget for purchasing PSAs/participating in co-ops to other worthwhile endeavors. Conversely, if you find that advertising takes up more time than you have you can put more of your budget towards purchasing PSAs and utilize your time to communicate with them effectively. Again, it all completely depends on your personal goals and your personal budget.

I tried buying PSA's from TC ECA, majority of them are INACTIVE but some did manage to reach EA but still i'm not sure if they would continue. So for me, I would say yes, you may buy PSA's if you have the budget. Because if you want to sponsor PSA's yourself by advertising then you will also spend some money and results are almost the same. I have also tried free ads, results are much less because it's free. By social media like facebook, we can't use SFI gateways it's blocked. You might want to consider the S-Builder Co-op, technically is just the same as buying PSA's. But in the co-op you will start receiving sign ups from 4-5 weeks, around 4-8 PSA's on the co-op month you've joined, see the reviews. I like your question because it shows that you are really trying to be successful; however, I have a different train of thought. You asked "should you buy PSAs OR learn how to sponsor" yourself... My way of thinking is not OR, but instead AND!!!

I am advising you to buy PSAs, either from S-Builder, ECAs, or auction bidding. After you have done that, I am ALSO advising you to learn how to sponsor some on your own. It isn't a bad practice to sponsor your own - as a matter of fact, you will probably get a better retention rate on the ones that you personally sponsor.

Right off the bat, I would say you need to sponsor them yourself since you will pick the people who are willing to give SFI their all to make it a success and you won't be wasting your time on someone who isn't interested.

If you maintain a one-on-one training repoir with the person you enroll, they will see your genuineness and want to work with you because they see that it works with you.

But if someone doesn't see and doesn't follow the vision of SFI, you are throwing your money away. Many are the people who join and they will do SFI for about 3-4 months, then they will peter out when the going gets tough because they don't see the long-term benefits of sticking to the program.

You can spend lots and lots and lots of money in advertising and get the people to sign-up and join, but if they don't have stickability, you are wasting your time.

Therefore one-on-one on-going training is the best. If you need any help with where to find this training, you can ask me.

Don't give up looking for people, they are few and far between, but they are there!

For one to be successful in sfi,it is imperative that one should either buy psas or learn to sponsor them by him\herself

But for me, i think my best bet would be to personally sponsor them. This is so because , when you personally sponsor especially through warm marketing -friends,family relations,colleagues,neigbour etc, you have the opportunity of explaining before hand to them that sfi is not a get rich quick scheme but rather a business that will go through a gestation period before profit is realized. The absence of this adequate explanation is partly what is responsible for the high incidence of inactive psas.

However, one may be limited by the number of psas recruited through this method, that is why buying of psas may become necessary since duplication is the name of the game in sfi

The caution is that one need to thoroughly screen the source(s) where these psas are obtained to avoid a high rate of inactive psas. One reliable source would be S-Builder co-op

If you learn to sponsor you will be able to teach them to sponsor others and your team will grow faster as more of your downline will be successful. You are also not in a position to get scammed by a dubious seller that get's their guaranteed sign ups from a PTC site for example where the only reason the person joined SFI was to earn their 40-50 cents for joining SFI and 100 other programs that day.

Don't laugh, with conversions of 1% from some of the purchased PSA in the marketplace you can tell that some of these folks are selling bulk and not quality.

If you must buy PSA buy T-credits and learn to win them at auction. These PSA are garnered through the SFIPPA program and members who come to the site without a sponsor. Even then they tend to not have a real high conversion into strong affiliates but at least you know a good portion of the proceeds will benefit SFI and keep our program strong.

Hello Boza,

this is an interesting question. If you decide to buy PSAs is there a guarantee they would be active? Would they be PSAs you are looking for? We all tend to build strong active downline and our job is the same with both, bought and self sponsored PSAs. I believe that you can be successful either way, but there is no guarantee that you’ll be better luck with PSAs you bought, likewise there is no guarantee for the PSAs you sponsored yourself. They could be active or inactive no matter how you sponsored them.

It also depends on how much time/money you can invest. If you have more time try to sponsor PSAs yourself, there are a lot of powerful sponsoring methods at our amazing Marketing Center. It takes more time that way but you can have a lot of fun and also learn a lot. If you have limited time then you can set a Co-op or win PSAs on auction. Or you can combine.

I believe that you can learn how to sponsor PSAs yourself and find the same PSAs you would buy or even much better ones. You can do both, but there is no guarantee.
