My answer to your question will be based on my own personal experience.
I asked my sponsor the same question last year and she told me that it is a good idea to do both; that is, buy PSA and also learn to sponsor them myself.

She told me that she invested money to buy some and I was one of the ones she bought and since I am very active she was happy with me.
So I went ahead and invested in buying PSAs, but you know everyone's luck is different because even though I have spent a considerable amount of money on purchasing Affiliates both from S-Builder coup and from TripleClicks, the only ones that I have that are active are the ones I personally sponsored myself.

All the others were like flashes in the pan, here today gone tomorrow.
So decide for yourself if I should have been better off investing the money spent on buying PSAs on marketing materials that will enhance my duplication/recruiting methods and get more people interested enough to take a shot at SFI like my current "movers" PSAs did and stay the course. I also believe if you sponsor them yourself, you will work harder to keep them.

But like I said you might be luckier than I am. But all the same whether bought or sponsored you must be prepared to work hard at helping your PSAs understand the SFI business concept and to encourage them by being a good sponsor to get the required knowledge themselves to build up their business and not to give up easily.

Personally I have decided to purchase 25 PSA's every other month, this way I can build my Team while I learn everything I need to recruit my own PSA's!

I have purchased 75 PSA's so far in my time at SFI, only 3 PSA's have shown any potential in their Business, with one of them qualifying each month as EA or above each month!

As I qualify for BTL each month I have earned CSA's, I have Affiliates 4 levels deep, with about 560 PSA's & CSA's, with these Affiliates I have been given a Free EA Status each month, with the commissions I'm earning from them!

Both buying and personally sponsoring or recruiting PSAs have advantages and unique experiences.
Let's look at each one below.

Personally referring a person to SFI involves personal communication either physically or through some means of communication. The respondent may trust you more and you may have good chances of followup.
They may also be within reach for a possibility of meeting with you.
However, personal sponsoring can be highly tasking on your time and energy which is actually limited thereby eventually limiting growth of your team in terms of numbers. You may however save some money by doing the hard work yourself.

Buying PSAs is recruitment of new affiliates through paid advertisement. There are several methods and avenues for this.
Yes, you have to invest in some of your money. But that's what money is for - to save you time and personal energy.
As a matter of fact, each new PSA through advertising will cost you half a dollar on average or up to a dollar depending on the advertising agent or some other factors I may not discuss here.

One true fact remains clear. Advertising brings in bigger numbers. And as for quality, there are no guarantees with any method.

To become successful as a SFI Team Leader you will need to learn to sponsor as well, it is part of the business and you need to know your business not only the basics, get to know your up-line team (your sponsor/co-sponsor) they can help you sponsor with assisting you in making three-way calls, getting you quick information when you need it and assisting you in other ways as well.

Sponsoring new PSAs can be quite simple or better said it is actually easy just follow these 5 basic steps to sponsoring.

Step 1. Learn your business thoroughly (a little every day)
Step 2. Work with your Team help and be motivated by them
Step 3. Talk to people every day about your business don’t sell
Step 4. Don’t try to sponsor introduce to them to the system and let the system do the sponsoring for you
Step 5. Believe in yourself and repeat Step 1 – 5 daily

Sponsoring people is a numbers game the more you talk to the more you will sponsor the reason is simple the more you talk about the business without trying to sponsor it the more you will show your own motivation and that you are doing well with it, the “Hey let me show you what I am doing you can earn lots of money with it is not the easiest or the best way to sponsor because it is not honest!”

You cannot say if the person will make money with SFI or not if they follow the system they eventually will but too many won’t follow the system and will hold you responsible because you told them they could make lots of money so instead offer them an opportunity to increase their passive income by a few dollars by just talking to two people a day once you have them talking without paying and they are getting people interested then you can help them sponsor and get others interested and finally you will start making money yourself and become a good sponsor who then can buy PSAs because then and only then do you know how to do the grunt work and sponsor the old fashioned way and the online way as well.

So start talking about your business daily to 2 people then you have talked to 60 people in thirty days, if you get your team to do the same then just multiply how many they talk to in a month now the bigger the numbers the more people join with time you will know that by using a combination of face to face talks or real sponsoring meets, online sponsoring and buying PSAs you will have the ultimate team at some future point.

Thus my suggestion to you and anyone else that wants to be successful be it with SFI or any other network marketing business “You should most definitely learn to sponsor yourself!” and as stated above it is actually easier than you might think.

Once you have learned to sponsor you should then use a mixture of sponsoring and buying PSAs, but as said I strongly suggest to first learn to sponsor so that once you are asked by one of your future PSAs how to sponsor you know how to do so this business is about duplication thus you should know your way around both methods. So enough about opinions here are is the easiest way to sponsor which I doubt you will find written anywhere.

Whether you buy or sponsor on your own, they are your PSAs and you are their sponsor. More than how you acquired them into your team, what matters is how you motivate them, inspire them and mentor them to succeed in SFI.

Without anticipating much from the PSAs, It is always good to buy them or win them in auction or get them through Co-Ops in the initial stages. Once you can sustain your rank from the help from downline, you can venture into sponsoring your own, through marketing and advertising with the strategies outlined in SFI training.

If you read the success stories of top Team Leaders in SFI, you will find that they continue to sponsor their own PSAs through advertising however big they might have grown.

Therefore it is not that a single option which may work better than the other. All the affordable methods through spending money and time should be employed to build a team and nurture it to achieve success in SFI.

Recruiting is an essential part of our work with SFI in terms of time, usually. My first advice, however, would be to buy PSAs even if you have a modest budget and lots of time on hand. Your downline will then grow automatically and you will have more time to learn more ins and outs of operating your SFI business, being a great leader, maybe registering as an ECA or recruiting some from your neighborhood.

As I said, your downline will grow automatically, you'll use the duplication techniques described here and then you'll see that your downline grows wider and deeper and your bottom line looks better and better with each month.

During that time, you might try some "warm marketing" and study other online and offline marketing/advertising methods described in the training section so well and try them one by one or in various combinations until you find your own "sweet spot" to get good Affiliates from.

Buying PSa is just an “Intermediate” method of sponsoring, whether you buy through S-Builders,ECAs, or PriceBenders Auction. As we all know there are three methods for sponsoring: Beginners/Intermediate/Advanced methods. It’s always good to start with Beginners’ Method. Warm marketing and e-mails through your friends and family members can yield more reliable PSAs. You just need five(5) productive PSAs who duplicate the system.

Having said that, if you feel you lack marketing skills, or lack of time and you have adequate resources, you can always buy your PSAs, but bear in mind “the law of average”.You may get one productive PSA out of 100 PSAs you buy, or maybe five if you are very lucky. Also remember Lesson#16 of Launchpad: The Big Funnel. What comes out of the small end of the big funnel are the actual affliates who have understood SFI and want to participate seriously in this business.

Again, this is individual need and preference. You can do both and build your way up.

Use S Builder to build a strong team, invest your money in the best method for targeting SFI affiliates. How many shares you buy is up to you. There are also other methods for buying PSAs, and ways to win them, to bid for them in auctions.

Use the sponsoring methods to advertise and recruit affiliates, there are many to choose from. Spend some time on finding ad sites, choosing the rights messages, following up leads. Maybe an autoresponder campaign. Maybe use WAVE3 offline. Use other offline methods to recruit locally.

You'll soon find the best balance for you and, most importantly, you'll be able to show your new affiliates how to DUPLICATE your methods, and build their own teams the same way.

Depending on the methods you choose, you may want to consider to start off with purchasing a small amount of PSA`s from vendors prior to ordering your S-Builder Co-Op. Looking through their Ratings in many cases, along with their customer feedback is always helpful in determining if they are reliable as a PSA dealer or not. While there is no guarantee for any active sign ups regardless of where you buy them, its always good to ensure you are ready when someone signs up. You will automatically know the process in which to encourage them to become active immediately upon contacting them over time. This of course is done with much practice. You can also seek the advice of visible successful recruiters from within your upline, or from your A2A friends. Many of them are willing and able to share valuable recruiting strategies and techniques in order to help you become as successful as they are. Myself, I found that purchasing PSA`s and the S-Builder Co-Op in addition to recruiting family and friends is a great way to start. Recruiting family and friends also provides you with the hands on experience necessary in facing further recruiting opportunities on a successful level. Practice makes perfect, so try different approaches and different styles, your sure to find a style and method suitable to your routine.

I have bought my psa's, and yes I have advertising to sponsor a few this way but not very many.

I personally suggest to buy the psa's because even the ones we sponsor ourselves may do nothing either.

Either way we have a 20% chance to have psa's exceed our expectations. It is from the 80-20 rule.

But I definitely would buy them either with S builder or Proprofit - Global Marketing Services. Both have worked for me. My free advertising is very slow but also still works. It depends on if you want now or later sponsoring really.
