This is a very interesting question.

I am still very new to SFI and still finding my way among all the information and training available. I have not yet signed up PSA's but have been awarded CSA's.

I have diligently sent mails to each of these CSA's via the genealogy mailing system every week - with absolutely no response from even one of them as yet.

People in general have different natures - also with regards to communication with others. Among your friends and associates you will also have those people who willingly and spontaneously converse and communicate and others who enjoy your interest but show little interest back.

If it is not in your nature or part of your character, it will be difficult to change that. One can only encourage your affiliates by contacting them on a regular basis without an expectation of receiving a response. You might be rewarded with a response in time, but your own perseverance and tenacity concerning this matter will determine if and when you get a response.

My own sponsor (whom I suspect is no longer actively involved in SFI) has not once contacted me in any way. I sometimes feel very lonely in SFI as a result, but I am determined to succeed irrespective of this. I will continue to contact my affiliates, whether they are personally sponsored by me or have been allocated to me as a co-sponsor. I never know beforehand when I spark something to warrant a response from one of them.

That is a good question.
For me it is simple, if they want to work and learn,
then they will be conversing with you regularly.
You should make the first contact, of course.
Send them a team mail and a regular mail.
Be confident, polite, and offer them your help,
everyday.
Let them know that they can count on you.
This is also the way to learn Your PSA's
how to treat their own future affiliates.

This is very important thing if you are serious about making active affiliates in your down line. If your affiliate having a continuous conversation with you. This is a sign that you have found a gem which can shine if properly trained.

You should set yourself as an example in front of him. Let him know about your achievements. These can be :
- No. of PSAs in your downline
- No. of CSAs in your downline
- No. of E365 contests won or Daily grand prize won by you
- Pricebenders auctions won by you

I try to be an interesting and helpful person. I tell them a little about what is going on in my life.

I want to be 'real person' who is interested in each affiliate by asking them questions.

I also let them learn more about me by linking them to my personal websites and blogs.

I try to stimulate their interest with provocative ideas.

I never "talk down" to my affiliates.

I frequently thank them for being on my SFI team.

It is important to regularly hear and talk about things that are not necessarily related to the job. Remember that people find it easier to talk with a friend. If you experience that will open, and this is the moment you've been waiting for. Now have you experienced as a leader, and only now they can talk about work. Now your words have the power and reach them, and you do not talk to the wind.

To get your affiliates to engage and regularly conversing... now that is a two way street. You are only responsible for your participation and if they so choose not to participate than what more can you do...?
I have myself encouraged and tried to get my list of individuals I was given but at this time I have yet to hear from any of them... As long as you do your part you are showing correct leadership regardless of your "title".
You could choose to be the a2a "cheerleader" and welcome your team and your friend connections. It keeps up moral and it will become routine like expected and when it doesn't come say like on your off day.... you may find the ones that it matters most to will contact you to find out why you missed that day...

I think not all people are "engagers" but they soak it up and if they need help they will let you know.

You have to want to genuinely help your affiliates. Not just for personal gain, but to forge relationships and see them grow and succeed. Network Marketing is a peoples business, and this is the way it will grow!

Direct your affiliates to your facebook page or other social media. Offer them tips and ideas that worked for you when you started. Make sure they understand that there is no super fast way to becoming wealthy. Any business needs time and staying power to succeed. Post to them regularly, even if they do not respond, and always emphasize duplication!

Most affiliates fail, or quit because they do not understand the SFI system, and don´t give it enough time. Get them to read the resources available to them. If they read and learn then you can begin to work with them.

Having affiliates conversing with you is a tricky thing. Actually, you cannot really influence your affiliates in a way that they get in contact with you. It is always their decision. As you know, this is a numbers game. So, the more affiliates you have in your downline, the more likely it will be, that they contact you. If they are really motivated to be successful they will contact you and ask questions about SFI and what to do. The best thing you can do to motivate your affiliates to converse with you regularly is to use the SFI team mailer regularly yourself. Show them what you want them to by doing it yourself. Lead by example. Those who react on your mailings are your movers you should focus on. The others, well, give them time to learn what a great opportunity SFI is and how easy it is to be successful here.

Great question, I often ask myself the same thing.
I guess it depends on your affiliate personalities, some liked to be left alone and others are more social and like to chat. I have a great relationship with most of my downline, but there are a few that won't answer any of my mails, and that saddens me, because without a good sponsor/PSA relationship their success would come that much harder.
But I still try to do my best, and just be available.
And here's what I do.
Once a week I send my dowline a group mail, with some tips and advices, and if I feel the need I send some personals as well.
Also my whole team is on facebook, I am friend to all of them so when I check my movers and genealogy list on SFI once every day, I can send some messages to those who need my help.
A support group (just for your team members)is a good idea too, because if your affiliates feel like they are a part of something they'll be more open to converse with you, and just hear you out. Learn from you and duplicate.
