This is a very good question because most of us or maybe all of us have experienced this problem. Well the very thing to do is to communicate with them as early as you can once you received them as sign-up. Communicate with them early, welcome them and let them know about what the SFI can do for them and you can help them as their sponsor. Don’t mention about becoming EA first or maintaining 1,500 VPs. What you will do is to guide them to get started, let them watch the video guide. Tell them how to earn VP’s explain to them is VP all about.

Then monitor their VPs and to-do list, if you noticed that they aren’t able to earn VP in a day offer them a help and guide them how to do it. Communicate with them at least three times a week. Encourage and remind them to read forum posts, ASK SC questions and news these are very important because lots of ideas there that will surely boost their eagerness to continue to learn about SFI.
Encourage them also to visit the Rank Page and let them add some of Team Leaders to become their A2A friends. If you have A2A friend that is in a higher rank let your affiliates add them, this will help them know that they are real and so are you.
Be careful mentioning about becoming an EA through standing order if you fail to tell them the benefits of VP’s. If they qualified as EA for the first month and then EA2, don’t tell them that they must have standing order to maintain their rank, instead encourage them to make sales. And let them know and see the benefits of becoming EA every month. But even though they can’t qualify as EA for the third month cheer them up, tell them its okay we will just focus first in learning by continuing to read ASK SC, Forum Posts and news.

Enticing their interests is the key issue. To entice anyone's interest, we have to know exactly what we are going to preach out about. This is to say that our leadership level must be already a super-influential, magically-powerful and highly respected. Why is that? because we have to make them look up to us every single moment of the lives or else they won't respond in any way.

The virtue of this question, of course a very good one, is that it reflects how difficult to maintain our high standard of leadership. First of all, we have to be initiative. We don't sit around and expect others to be our affiliates automatically. It won't work like that. We act first. We keep on act until we face another new action to produce (develop)more new actions... I believe it is the sponsor’s responsibility to keep a good relation with their downline when possible, as not all affiliates will be active and responsive to messages.

Besides the initial welcome message and the weekly team mail, in which assistance must always be offered, the sponsor should monitor the affiliate’s progress and give their advice beforehand guiding them to success. It is understood that no question asked by the affiliate should be left unanswered and all efforts should be made to assist in solving their problems.

Also, being supportive and offering rewards when they meet a milestone, like become an EA or Team Leader, is a good way to keep a good relation with the affiliates and have them engaged and conversing regularly with you.

Many affiliates you will receive will only allow about a 5 to 10 minute window before they are gone for good. So the ones that stick around for an hour or two are going to be your best bet.

Introduce yourself, explain about yourself relating to SFI ("I joined in x month of x year"), give a goal or two your have set for yourself at SFI, and end this first paragraph after just a few lines. You want them to realize that you are a real person!

Before you start the second paragraph, look over what they have done between the time they signed up and now. Congratulate them on signing up, becoming an A2A member, getting the Fast Track achievement, and so on. You want to make them feel good about their choices.

Finally, in your last paragraph, which is really only one sentence, ask that they message you back so that you can continue to help them because you are the one who knows more here.

Conclude saying something along the lines of "Hope to hear from you soon", add your name at the end, and send. All in all, the entire message should be about the same length or shorter as the middle 3 paragraphs of this answer. Brevity, introduction, congratulations, and encouraging communication are all important factors for getting your new affiliate engaged and conversing.

It is important to send regular team mails to your down line. When you do this you are actually creating an atmosphere of trust and you are building friendship. Remember that your affiliates are persons whom you never knew and so that level of trust needs to be built first.

Secondly, try sending personal mails, people like it when they receive personal messages.

Thirdly, be sure to congratulate your affiliates on their successes, even if it is just for the VPs they gained for the day.

Its a very good habit for all SFI members to communicate with their up line and down line affiliates on regular basis at least once in a week. I would suggest beside using SFI genealogy messages one should make/open a g mail account add the affiliate contacts to your g mail in a separate SFI group/Circle; it will help in sending and receiving messages through email to/from your affiliates even if they are not logged in to SFI Affiliate Center. This is how i am communicating with my Sponsor/Co Sponsor and Down line on the matters concerning SFI and Triple clicks. We share new ideas for promoting business and network, appreciate and congratulate on each others achievements, seek advice's and give advises, suggest something of common interst on all the matters concerning SFI.

Let them know that you are there for them and they can contact you if they have any questions. You can also give them your e-mail address for further contact. you can also send out a weekly mailer through SFI`s genealogy mailer.

you can also use SFI`s online chat. When you click on your movers tab you will know if any of your downline members are online. A yellow bubble will indicate if an affiliate is online. You can click on the bubble and follow the instructions to start a conversation with an affiliate.

You can also engage your affiliates through skype and facebook. If you are there for your affiliates in these ways then they will most certainly duplicate your actions and converse regularly with you as well as their affiliates.
