Great question.

There's an old saying "you can lead a horse to water but you cannot force it to drink".

Most join SFI with the intend to become rich overnight. These individuals are lazy and want to do very little to earn their bread ("By the sweat of your brow man shall eat bread." so says the good book). My best advice is when you realize this let them be and move on to those who are willing to do the work.

I am still fairly new to SFI and have

You cannot keep someone from quitting or giving up on anything. Why? You cannot control another person’s choices and actions; you can only control your own.

However, having said this, it doesn’t mean we cannot try to encourage our downline to keep building their SFI business. Yet, we also need to be realistic. There are a few common reasons people do not continue with SFI.

Some reasons are:
- a person initially joined SFI thinking it was a get rich quick scheme

Well, you can bring a horse to the water, but you can’t make it drink it!

To keep your down line from quitting, is a hell of a challenge. Out of personal experience, I can testify that only about 2% of your affiliates will be active, the rest was either curious, or just quit after they realized that there is no quick buck to be made!
You have to explain to your down line from the very beginning what they can expect from SFI.
Tell them -

There really is no way to prevent this from happening. The fact is, the majority of your PSA's will most likely never do anything with SFI and probably quit. This is not a business you can force upon people.

If you have to talk someone in to this, they probably will quit down the road. You want people who have a real passion for the independence this type of lifestyle affords. Honestly, not everyone is capable of running their own business. It takes a lot of dedication to pull this off.

From the beginning, you must communicate with every team member as if they will stay forever. Even though 90 - 99% of them won't work, YOUR communication must make them feel valued, wanted and important. Help them understand that you are their main support, and nurture that relationship from the first automatic welcome note to your last-ditch efforts to keep them on your team.

That is a good question. It is very frustrating to see so many people quit so soon after they register. Here are some of the reasons why I think they quit and a humble solution to retain and nurture new affiliates.

Many people quit on their first day at SFI and it may be because they are overwhelmed from the very beginning by the profile questions. In those first few minutes, a lot of people hesitate because it can be quite unnerving to answer questions you have not even asked yourself

You can never stop someone from quitting if they so desire, but what you can do is explain to them, the opportunity they will be missing out on if they do.

Explain to them first and foremost SFI is not and will never be a get rich quick business.

Secondly, every business needs an input from the person who started the concept, whether it is financial input, time spent marketing, promoting the business, time spent making sure the stocks are available and delivered on time and

I give mine incentives to stay in it. If they qualify for EA one month, then the following month I include them in a co-op. I give praise and thanks to all my PSAs and CSAs. I keep in touch with them asking if I can assist and give them VP breakdowns to help guide them in the right direction.

Other things you can offer:

~Contests for Tcredits, gift certs/cards and even cash.
~Direct them to your Leadership page and have a blog up stating your progress and such.

This is a question everyone has probably asked at some point. Here's what I think.

I believe you should encourage affiliates from the first day in your welcome message. Make sure the affiliate knows how to get started in that message.

Next, starting with the welcome message and along the journey, tell the affiliate that you are there to help and encourage in any way possible.

If the affiliate asks questions, answer them as soon as possible.

There are a few things that are important to you and your members.

- If you respect them and they will respect you!
- Be an example to them!
- Show them the right way!
- Do not be negative!
- Provide assistance to your active members!
- Congratulate them when they achieve some status!
- Praise them publicly when they do everything as it should be!
- Reward active members with some small prizes like Wave3 (this is the best)
- Just be a
