As a sponsor and have my downline - I would write them a team mail and expain to them that due to personal matters has caused you to loose touch with them.

Then let them know that you are back and ready to help them in any way you can. Sometimes honesty is the best policy.

I would have written message to my downline - full of motivation by my own example.
Don't put pressure on your downline, just describe what steps did you take this week to improve your own results. Any A-HA moments - include them. When you receive a message written with a good sense of humor - you most likely read it to the end. Use it. Laugh at yourself!
And your own results (in case you are doing great) with step-by-step instruction to achieve them could be very inspiring! I would have

You have to become a LEADER! You have to know where you going with this business!
Then just share what you are doing with your team on a CONSISTENT basis. Your team would see that you are serious about business and they will follow you.
Good idea to send weekly messages, but also you can create and promote your own contests (doesnt have to be expensive) and send a personalized messages to people who are active. Always encourage them to ask questions and provide feedback to you.

Well first of all, remember that a Sponsor should not contact their downline just to get VP only. That lessens the passion and motivation in your messages. And your affiliates will see that. 30VP is little compared to the amount you will get from a downline that eventually will share the same passion of the product/service that you want them to succeed in.
If you have lost touch with your downline you have to be honest to them. That builds trust and you will see that they consider you a REAL

Normally it cannot happen since we're communicating at least once per week trough mails. But what can eventually occur, especially when the CSA is no longer interested in business, he/she will remain indifferent to any contact you try to maintain to him. In my downline for eg. there are people I personally brought into SFY which are no longer interested, intesd of OPT OUT, they are STACK. They do nothing, months after months. I understand that each and any choice must be done wisely

As others are saying, this should never happen if you're sending out your newsletter at least once a week. But sometimes it can't be avoided that some of your downline will become inactive or never become active to begin with. Just make sure you send out encouraging emails and don't preach to the choir.

I recently added in a forum a post called sink or swim to the top? this is based on lack of team support whether sponsor or affiliate, getting motivated and involved is highly important when you are aiming for a goal and want it to be a success, you will find there are people who lose interest in things very easy and if there is no wow factor to keep there interest and motivation alive, they will quickly sink and everything else sinks to, if a sponsor is not giving enough wow factor to there affiliate

Start by putting yourself in their position. How would you feel if you were in their position? Now approach them the way you would want to be approached. Since they probably feel you just want to make money from their efforts, make a honest effort to show that you care for them and want them in your team.

Send out a PSA/CSA Team mail offering help and support and include your phone number.
Sending them Email or team mail motivating them to be progressive. Offering them gift certificates either cash or TCredits. If available, start a chat and learn if they need anything to become motivated.
