Yes, it is certainly true that speaking the same language and having a common culture makes it easier to relate to one another but in business, this notion was more valid in the pre Internet era than it is today. In the last 30 years, we have seen a vast improvement in how the global community communicates. I think you will also agree that SFI would have found it more difficult to be present in 203 countries without the help of the Internet.
If your potential affiliate can understand you and is active and making progress, you are speaking the same language regardless of the country where he or she is. At SFI there are many teams comprising of affiliates from different countries and some of them are very successful.
In short, even though there are some advantages with recruiting affiliates from your own country, why stop there? There is a greater outlook and potential in recruiting without borders!
