Communication with your teammates (down-line) is one of the most important business activities that you need to participate in. Good communication will build relationships that are highly needed in an Internet Marketing home business.

The most effective communication is when you can interact with someone face to face – one on one. Private communication will build the strongest relationship in the shortest amount of time.

One of the challenges with a global company like SFI and TripleClicks is that it is next to impossible to have private conversations with your teammates on a one to one basis. This is due to the fact that most of your teammates will reside in different countries than you so the time difference is a great barrier that is hard to overcome.

In order to get good results from your communication efforts is to employ all the different communication systems that SFI freely offers to the affiliates.

Stream post – short messages of encouragement or recognition for milestones achieved – up-dates and important information from SFI or TripleClicks.

Team mailers – weekly newsletters to your PSAs and/or CSAs – covering fresh new content not covered by SFI. Suggestions on how to advertise and what sites to use. Ways to sell TripleClicks products and gain good commissions.

Individual emails – send personal messages to teammates who may need more help in certain fields. Giving them a personal email can mean a lot to your down-line teammates.

Ecards – Use these to send personal congratulations for achievements and new levels reached. Also use the cards for asking your teammates if they need a hand or to welcome them to your team.

Use the forum - post good questions and then direct your teammates to the question to help them overcome tough areas in business building. Also send your teammates forum links to good threads that can help them learn.

Use Ask SC – You can ask a question that you know your teammates need information on – when the answers start coming in from the SFI community encourage your teammates to read the answers that can help them.

Again I say it is better to use all the different ways of communicating with your team that has been provided by SFI. In doing this your chances of making contact with the right information at the right time is enhanced greatly.

Through SFI, the following resources of communication between Sponsor and Affiliate are available:

PSA and CSA mailer
E-mail
E-cards
Phone
Live Chat

Each of the above can be an effective source of communication depending on the nature of the message. For example PSA and CSA mailer is very effective for one to write weekly newsletters to all affiliates. E-mail, E-cards, Phone and Live chat on the other hand enables the sponsor to personalise or have a one to one way of communicating with the affiliate.
As other people have said, first impressions are very important and so you may find that initially a “live chat” with your new affiliate while he or she is online is a very good chance for you to present the human side of your business and with the bond that you make you may just set the affiliate on the right path and prevent him or her from becoming inactive.
For motivating and recognising your affiliates achievements you will find E-cards as a faster and humorous way of communicating your message.
Where it is necessary and possible, I think that contact by phone is just as good as live chat but both maybe limited if there are language difficulties especially with the phone where one has to speak.

Something that is not offered by SFI but which you can set up is webinar. This is a very effective way of bonding with your team, presenting your ideas and immediately answering questions.

In conclusion for effective communication, use the right resource (from the above) depending on the nature of your message.

Hello, this is a good and important question! I've learned that my affiliates are much more successful when I communicate with them, so here's what I do...

First, I have a welcome letter set up that new affiliates read and gain V.P. for. Almost all new affiliates will read this, so the quality and content are very important. You can find and set up yours here: https://www.sfimg.com/ViewMyWelcomeLetter

Second, I set up an email service with Mail Chimp that automatically emails my PSA's everyday for the first ten days. I created ten emails that walk them through getting Fast-Track qualified and reminding them to complete their Launchpad training for the day. I also invite them to connect with me on Facebook and Skype so that I am more available to them.

After the first ten days, if they are active and completing the steps, I continue to work with them, offering them more personalized training (some affiliates are more advanced than others). If they are not active, I do not email them anymore from here.

Third, I use the genealogy mailer once per week at: https://www.sfimg.com/Reports/Genealogy there's a link on the right side that says "Send an e-mail/TeamMail to..." In this email, I update everyone on who the top five on the team are, and I have monthly contests for those who get the most V.P. I also reward anyone who makes EA with a TC Gift Certificate.

Finally, I use the chat feature within SFI when I am logged in, if I see an affiliate online I will reach out to them and say hello, offer help, etc.

1) On The First Day!

For sure, there are numerous ways we can communicate with our downline.

However, it’s the ‘to get results’ part of your question that can’t be guaranteed.

Bear in mind that the inactive affiliates, the ones who never log in again after they join up date and the ones who start off great and then just quit for no apparent reason; these inactives are all part of your downline.

We have our Welcome Message as our initial point of contact in which we direct our downline to our Leadership Page https://www.sfimg.com/Resources/LeadershipManager where we blog post, greet, reward/ incentivise, recommend to and recognise the affiliates in our downline.

And every week, if you’re like most Executive Affiliates (EA’s) and Team Leaders (TL’s), you send out TeamMail via your Genealogy Tool at https://www.sfimg.com/Reports/Genealogy?lg=t and SFI delivers these messages to the Affiliate Center Inbox https://www.sfimg.com/MyAccount/SFIMessages and to the external mail address of each member of your downline.

Think about the results you want from your downline - you want them to be successful so you can also be successful.

Communication with your downline should always be encouraging and helpful. Let them learn from your own successes and mistakes.

You can use whatever method you like to communicate - email, E-Cards, Skype, phone, even snail-mail but it should always resonate with your true desire to help. Make sure your Leadership Page is current and up to date.

You will want to reassure your downline that you are there to help and are willing to do so. You can express your own feelings about SFI as long as it is supportive and positive - otherwise why would you be here?

Relating your own experiences and what you have done to be a success, offering explanations or suggestions about how to get to a higher level or how to make money can go a long way to encouraging your downline to do what you did (duplication of course.)

I am not sure if you are referring to HOW to communicate or WHAT TO USE to communicate?

If you are referring to HOW you should be communicating I highly recommend being honest, friendly and always helpful when you are communicating. Also, don't wait for your team members or other downline members to contact you. Reach out and introduce yourself from the beginning. Let them know you are there to help and always give them recognition when they are achieving.

If you are referring to WHAT TO USE, use all the methods available.

* Post on your Stream daily, congratulating those that are achieving and giving handy tips and information to your team.

* Send weekly team mail using the SFI Mailers

* Send eCards and emails to let your team members know you care about them and THEIR success

Always remember to use the 100/0 percent ratio when communicating. Give 100% support and expect 0% return. You may be surprised how many percent you receive as a result.

Very good and intresting question. Let me explain first why communication is necessary.

COMMUNICATION

Leveraged Income is a whole lot easier to build if you have open and easy communication channels. For starters, communication from you to your affiliates is a big part of how you duplicate yourself.

DUPLICATION NEEDS STRONG COMMUNICATION

It doesn’t matter how intelligent, rich, energetic, or dynamic you are—we are all limited to the same 24 hours a day. By sponsoring other affiliates, however, you can overcome this limitation. By sponsoring, you can essentially clone yourself and have dozens, hundreds, even thousands of people all working indirectly on your behalf on their time—and receive a percentage of everything they earn!

Sponsoring affiliates also builds security for your business. Why? In most traditional businesses, what happens if you become ill or disabled and are unable to service your customers? Or perhaps you just want to take a vacation. Whatever the case, you could lose most, if not all, of your income overnight because it relies on your being there. That’s not owning your own life, and that’s certainly not financial freedom!

It's through communication that you can teach your affiliates how to succeed in SFI (i.e. duplication). And it's through communication that you'll build relationships with your affiliates—which is very, very important. Think about it. Do YOU want to make money for someone who offers no support or assistance? Of course not. It's the same thing with the affiliates you sponsor. If they feel you do not care about them, they will not want to build their businesses because they will not want to see their hard work benefiting some stranger they never hear from. If you do that, if you do not communicate with your affiliates, success will be a hundred times harder to attain.

OK, so HOW do you communicate with your affiliates? How do you make sure they know you are out there and available to assist them?

Very easily.

First of all, you need to set up a Greeting for your affiliates HERE (https://www.sfimg.com/MyAccount/NewAffiliateGreeting). Once you've set this up, all of your new affiliates, upon logging in at the SFI Affiliate Center for the first time, will see an alert that you've left them a message. By clicking on this alert, they'll then be able to read your message. This is an easy, automatic way to get off to a great start in building relationships with your affiliates. Next, you'll want to develop some form of regular outgoing communications. We recommend a weekly or bi-weekly e-mail. Everything depends on the type of relationship that exists between the Leader and the down line.

Right from day one, when we come to know of a new PSA in our Team, as a Team Leader we should start communicating with all sincerity.

Our very first communication should not just remain a formality; But it should reflect our heart and our sincerity towards the new entrant in to our Team.

If we are able to bring out and show our genuine concern for the growth of the new affiliate, in our first and following communication, the down line will be able to understand it.

Naturally, the down line will begin to trust the Leader. When we keep communicating with them consistently (& not just for gathering the weekly AVPs) offering our utmost support and demonstrate it in concrete action there arises a wonderful bonding and that needs to cemented further step by step in the days to follow.

Everything depends on the Leader's attitude towards the down line. To what extent he is able to live up to the expectation of the down line members, will determine their re-action or response.

Mere words will not help. Communication depicting just compliance with SFI formalities will not help. Are you prepared to walk that extra mile towards your down line members so that they can grow if not quickly at least slowly but steadily?

Down line members expect that sort of commitment from the up line. When, they grow naturally the up line too grows.

Conclusion:

SFI has provided enough tools like Movers, Affiliate Snap Shot, Genealogy, VP Ledger, Stream, Chat Line, Team Mail, etc, etc to:

1) Monitor the activities; &
2) Communicate with the Team Members;

We can use any and all of these tools to communicate with the down line. But if the trust is missing some where, nothing will happen.

Communication should affirm our commitment to their growth, followed by clear, concrete, correct and timely action.

Through all these, one can become an awesome Sponsor. The down line will naturally be motivated to work to a plan, achieve results, grow and succeed. Simple communication based on mutual trust and bonding will be key to get positive results!!
