This is a great question because when we are promoting SFI there are 2 aspects of it that people can be wary of : the business/entrepreneurial side and the online/Internet side!
There are many great answers already about the business side and how you can help people understand SFI, Multi level marketing etc better, but these days there are many people who are, quite rightly, a bit sceptical/suspicious about online 'opportunities'. There are so many scams out there that are often very professional, and it can be very hard to work out that they are scams and not genuine business opportunities, so it's part of our job to 'prove' to prospective team members that we are not trying to trick them out of their money!
We can show them the SFI track record which is impressive, but won't convince a sceptic unless they do their own research, which you can encourage them to do! What will impress them more, at least those that know you or that you can meet face to face, is your own track record! Show them your profile page, your badges, your TripleClicks page etc. Show them some of the training pages that are available to SFI affiliates, and the FORUM, what an amazing tool that is, so show them that they can ask any question they like!
Be realistic though! Don't tell them they'll be making loads of money after a few weeks, with little time spent! It takes time to understand and learn the business, and if they have very little or no money it will take longer, but they can do it! Share your own story!
The other area that can be really scary for people when they think about running an online business is if they have little or no experience with computers or the Internet. If that is the case then help to take away their fears! Tell them about how easy SFI is, how robust it is as a system and how everything is pretty much automated! Even a novice could cope! If you can, then sit with them and show them how easy it is to get around the system. If they are keen on the business side but scared of the Internet then encourage them to do a basic Computer Skills course or to find someone in their family or friends that can sit and help them a bit. They can easily start on a friend or family member's computer or at an Internet cafe so they don't need to buy or set up their own computer to get started!
Someone with little or no computer experience is just as likely to be one of those 5 diamonds that we're all looking for! It may take a bit of extra effort on your part to encourage and help them but if they are a diamond they are definitely worth it in the long run!
