Yes, it is a disguised request for help.
I have had affiliate who quit without any form of notice.
I also had affiliates who expressed their disappointment over their results and contemplating the option to leave SFI.
There was nothing I could do in the first instance.
In the second case, I was able to convince them to keep trying.
To fully answer your question, it is important to address the disguised help request.
In other words, how can you help them stay and succeed?
First step: Help them make a thorough audit of their sales and sponsoring strategies and actions. Let them do that under your supervision, But let them be the ones to conduct such an audit. You will help them identify their weaknesses and where they will gain in improving their tactics.
Second: Offer them support within the SFI Sponsoring tools (including them in your S-Builder Co-op, giving them gift certificates and Tcredits, for example).
Staying within these confides is what will help you also boost your business. By doing so you are gaining twice: (i) retain an affiliate and, (ii) increase your VP scores
Third give them sponsoring and sales tips. Direct them to do tasks in those areas under your supervision and help them improve the quality of their work.
By doing so you are:
(a) giving them critical skills for success
(b) avoiding a mindset of dependency from their part, and
(c) helping them improve their results.
We also must recognize that there may be situations where an affiliate may still quit sooner or later.
If they do not have the basic skills and unwilling to learn;
If they are not willing to work on their warm markets while you help them build their skills and improve their results;
If they do not have the resources and/or are unwilling to invest the adequate time and money to grow their businesses;
In such cases, it may be better to recognize these facts and focus on the affiliates that are willing to work.
This is mere common sense and it is actually part of the SFI guidelines on sponsoring and "Rules of Success".
