Is it wise to offer non-SFI related incentives to my CSAs and PSAs? For example, create a standing order and get a free DVD?

No, not wise! This would not be the best thing for you to do. You should offer incentives that are beneficial to the overall success of your affiliates. For example you can offer them Free entry in your Co-op on a month by month basis for meeting certain criteria set by you. Not only that but you have a whole host of ECA products and services that are beneficial to building ones SFI business. These should be offered for reaching certain milestones. Not non-SFI related products as incentives.

I'm going to answer your question by first asking you several questions.

In your example of "non-SFI related incentives" a DVD, what kind of DVD are you thinking about giving away? How would that prize motivate your team, as a whole, to purchase a Standing Order? Is this DVD something everyone would like to get? I don't have a DVD player, I have a Blue Ray. I like a variety of different types of movies, however the one you want to give away I already own it.

See what

It is not wise to do so. If you want to encourage your team to use TC products, then giving them TC products, instead of non-SFI related incentives, will give your business a boost.

You will also be giving a conflicting message to your team if you offer non-SFI related incentives. It's not beneficial especially if you're aiming to have your action to be duplicated.

Instead, why not offer TCredits, Gift Certificates, or a share in your advertising co-op that will benefit not

Actually the best motivation for hard work is to gift someone what you think he had valued and needed, but at times we may not know and this is why I often give them options to choose from;

"You are doing wonderfully well to build your SFI business, particularly your recent E365 champion award. Like always, I reward my PSAs who achieve a big deal like this, so kindly choose from below your preferred gift...." The options will be like 10 PSAs, a promotional landing page, 50 Tcredits,

It is totally unwise and unethical to offer non-SFI related incentives to CSAs and PSAs such as Standing Orders and to give a free DVD.
SFI is a long standing marketing and Business entity where honesty, patience and persistence should be considered as human virtues. Those who join SFI should read and digest the storehouse of knowledge available and work on it professionally.
Giving such incentives referred to above is akin to bribing your own team members to a route for their own future

There are many team leaders who do just that.

Some will offer free ebooks. Others will offer shares of a co-op yet others, still, will offer a free membership on their private training site.

I, personally, offer reassigned affiliates for EA and EA2 status. I also have contests with gift certificates and ebooks as prizes.

But most important we must always remember that these incentives are simply a means to an end (success in SFI) not an end unto themselves.

Is it wise to not offer incentives to your PSAs or CSAs? You should know the answer for yourself. How would it make you feel if your sponsor or up line team leader gives you a gift certificate for your latest milestone achievement? Wouldn't it make you feel like they appreciated your effort? I think so. Yet, we don't want to give the wrong impression that you are going to get kudos for every little thing you do. No, everyone has to accept the responsibility for growing their own business.

Hello Theodore,
Any reward or incentive is good as long as it does not cross solicit other business opportunities. You would not want your team members to lose focus on their SFI business.

Ensure your incentive is of good quality and appropriate. There is nothing worse than accepting an incentive and then finding it is of low value compared to your investment.

Any of my new team members who qualify for EA the first time are sent a Tripleclicks Gift Certificate to purchase

I would hesitate to offer those sort of incentives for a few reasons:

You're setting up your relationship as paternalistic, if your affiliates do X, you will give them a prize. Some folks might come to expect a prize for every thing that they follow through on.

Prizes are fine, but as your group gets larger, it may become unsustainable and quite expensive. What is manageable to do for 10 people, may not be manageable for 100 people.

I would suggest perhaps

If you can afford it, WHY NOT?

HOWEVER,

Watch out for leeches!

Some of your downlines might interprete this the wrong way and instead exploit you and drag you into non SFI issues including expecting you to deal with their personal financial problems since you've proved yourself someone who can go an "extra mile!!"

So, in summary my ultimate advise is..STICK TO THE INCENTIVES THAT SFI management PROVIDES and RECOMMENDS,
