The best thing to do with the Genealogy tool is sending out a weekly mailing every Sunday. Next you might want to use the Genealogy list can be used to query, or sort out the affiliates who have not logged-in within the last ninety days, with those affiliates you might want to contact on Wednesdays of every week, that’s twice a week.
And also when sending out your newsletters, all of the affiliates who have logged in within the last thirty days, query those affiliates out of your weekly Sundays mailing, because they will be somewhat busy completing the indoctrination, and orientation, stages of the SFI introduction processes, hence, the Laissez faire strategy. Your movers are the ones you want to use the Laissez faire strategy on, that way they will stay focused on what they are presently doing.
These are just some of the most important benefits of using the Genealogy tool to manage your down line, there are many more.

The biggest thing that got me started was that I saw it, I got confused and I got curious. When I spent 2.5 years in "computer college", as I call it, I was always seeing what did what. An instructor called me "Tinkerbell", "Tinkie for short. To this day I'm curious.
With respect to my Genealogy, I just clicking on links and buttons to see what they did. Once I became familiar with the features like being able to see Affiliate Snapshots and VP Ledgers or do what I like to do, transfer Tcredits, it got easier. And fun!
If I have one trick, I would have to say it's being able to Quick Filter. Being able to Quick Filter - whoever thought of that deserves a medal! Choose any criteria - Generation, even a join date, sort in ascending or descending...Your results show. Amazing! And you can save your Quick Filter. How cool is that?

I think SFI has the best Genealogy I have ever seen.I can send messages to everyone.I can send to my CSA's,those that have logged in the last week-months,whatever.
We can check everything across that black bar combining several items.
My favorite is checking on my movers to see where they need help.I go to their v.p. Ledger before I send them a help e-card.Then it is more personal.
I keep a page in Notebook for messages to new people,ones that will exit soon,new people messages and for new CSA.The Genealogy saves me time and helps me have a personal relationship with my group.

To me, this question itself is more tricky as the success rate of getting down line active seems to be pretty less.
Nevertheless, you can use your Genealogy to send individual and group messages to your entire organization at a time.
You can also monitor sales activity of you team and motivate them at each stages and alert them immediately if they are short of some points that could help them to gain it before month end.
You can motivate your team members by awarding them gift certificates, reassign sponsors etc.,
You need to do regular follow up with your down line and send frequent short messages through Genealogy that will surely help.

It helps to check matching VPs and tells you what action to take in order to earn matching VP.It provides you will lot of info. The best trick is to understand SFI and your genealogy which will help you to get out the most of it.

There are no tricks.

Use genealogy to monitor my downlines activity in their VP ledgers.
A. If I see that they are missing some of the action points, I immediately highlight to them.
B. Those that I see who are doing great and completing evrrything, I send congratulatory message to motivate them further.
C. Those that are have not login for quite long or have 0 points, I still send reminder emails about the business oppotunity that SFI offers.
