You should encourage, motivate them to stay with SFI and tell them to log on everyday whenever they find time for few minutes at least. This is your own business; check the progress of it every day.

You can tell them that “I have been looking for you, where were you, Please contact me for any help you require. Give them good tips to succeed in SFI.

You should acknowledge him. Tell him that you that you've been looking out for him. Commend him for logging in. Tactfully inquire as to why he has not been logging all those while. You could say "was it because you were busy?". When you suggest like that it helps to draw out the mind of people and they will be more willing to open up. Depending on the response of the affiliate, offer an encouraging thought.
Finally, let the affiliate know that you are always there for him.

If any affiliate log in after a big gap it is understood that he or she must have reviewed their previous actions besides decided to go with SFIbeing a genuine pirtal to help in building own team and set up a business desk that flow dividends for generations even if it is strong back up with an able and enthusiastic down line. It is also understood that the affiliates who log in after a break might have cross checked the prospects and provisions of other available on line businesses and made up his mind to opt SFI being simple, fair and profitable besides provide a wonderful action tools,suggestions,tips and even tewards and badges. When an Affiliate logs in after a long period of time I always welcome them with an e-card of warm welcome. I stress the fact that I am always available to help him/her with whatever they need to know or unsure about. I follow them up at least 3 time a week to make sure they are working again. I will always stress the fact that I am excited about him/her returning to SFI and the team.
I remind them that this is their business and that they are the only person that can build their own business by working at it ever day.
The bottom line: I train them all over again, service and support them and give them tips on growing their Verse points and thus their income potential.

You may not believe this is the most mover with good VP in my group.
In short, welcome him and try to motivate him.Don't make the mistake of asking him or her why he or she is not active since just let him or her know that you are there for him or her and that if he or she os havinng problem or any unclear things he oe she should feel free to get in touch with you.Let him or her trust you and always respond to her question in time , be free to let him or know your stand to her or his question.I means if he or she asked a question you don't have answer to tell hom or her the truth.
Let him or her know how to make use of ASK SC and forum.
Be prepared he may have lots of queations and things to cleariy from you please always respond on time to any question asked.

Well I guess should I come across an affiliate whom may have not log in for quite some time I would take it easy and approach as well as acknowledge and greet him or her on an open mind basis and initiate some small talk for starters and then gradually Share with them and try to touch base and build up better rapport and an ongoing relationship when the time is appropriate.
Never be too pushy nor aggressive and be sensitive to their feedback and respect their privacy as well and don't be overly enthusiastic as well.
Just keep encouraging and share with them some tips or new games here and there from time to time and play by the ear to take it to the next level like send them some Ecards from time to time if they are receptive to it .
