Being a good team leader is like being skillful at most any other activities.Even those known as "naturals" must learn more about the activity and how to school himself to become even better at it whether it is a physical sport or a mental art.
When one becomes aware of his need and desire to become more skilled at something, he will undertake two routes of training. He will learn as much as is necessary about his chosen activity, and he will condition and train as much of his physical being as is needed to perform the activity well.
In grade school, during game time, it becomes obvious who the potential leaders are. But they are often bossy, impatient, inconsiderate, have no game plans, and don't know how to manage the team. At that time they will learn by trial and error, ask questions as they go, and generally look for better ways to manage the players.
In leading a business team, a person will also look for better ways to manage people. They will also use trial and error, but more often will go to experts in their field, or read books and watch videos about team management. At SFI we also have a whole library about improving leadership skills, and experts at the Forum, ASK SC, a2a, and our upline.
Another important way to learn about team leadership is to watch your upline, watch other affiliates in SFI who are successful and duplicate in your business what they do.
While you are watching and learning, you can also be practicing. Make note of what works, and discard what doesn't work. Remember how much a young ball player practices. Eventually you will be a great team leader.
