I would start with sending them a Welcome letter and letting them know you are their new Co-Sponsor. Let them know you are there to help them and to contact you if they have any questions.
From their profile, you may be able to find out where they live specifically in your country. This would possibly give you something to talk about like maybe you have traveled there or somewhere close by. What I would be looking for is a common point of reference whereas you would have something to talk to them about other than SFI.
Then, a day or two later, I would send them another email and let them know you realized you both live in the same country. Tell them where you live and a little about where you have traveled in the country. Ask them some generic questions about where they live and their travels without getting too personal or making it sound like you are going to show up on their doorstep.
From those email communications, hopefully you could find a familiar point of reference or common ground within your country. It may be enough of an association that you could ask them if you could call or meet with them if it is not too far away. Towards the end of that conversation, I would ask them if they have had time to look into SFI and if so, what they thought. Share a few of your personal achievements and some good points about the program. This may spark some interest or prompt them to ask questions about the program.
Unfortunately, the new CSA may not have an interest in communicating with you or anyone else about SFI. If that is the case, then there is no harm. But, if they do eventually take a closer look at SFI, they will remember you as a good, friendly person in their own country and just may give you a call or send an email. Always leave the “door open” for them to “step through” if and when they change their mind.
