Gifts, any kind of them are very instrumental in making people feel good. They lift up your spirits when you are down, they encourage and motivate. There are however certain cultural barriers that govern the giving of gifts and how they are interpreted. Again the "value" of gifts is also important in determining the meaning of that gift. It is like the color of roses and what they mean for the giver and taker!
Having said that we have to be very careful what we are offering our new affiliates.
On many occasions, I have been surprised by a gift certificate from my upline when I have reached a milestone in my SFI business. This made me very happy that my upline acknowledged that I had worked independently so I deserved it.
I have in turn given out T Credits as well as Gift Certificates to my team members for having worked hard.
You will note that there were no welcome gifts in my experience - the gifts all came in after I proved to be a worthy worker.
Both T Credits and Gift Certificates, in my view make excellent Gifts for your new team because it serves a two-fold purpose - it recognizes your workers and makes them feel valued. In turn, you would want to believe that it also encourages them to perform better in the future.
Sometimes gifts cannot be tangible or have a financial value, all the same, their real value cannot be underestimated. Words of encouragement, Thank you e-cards, Stream posts highlighting the achievements of your team members or Forum Posts acknowledging special milestones are great ways to appreciate.
In conclusion, I would suggest that you use your discretion when giving out gifts to your new PSAs and CSAs. Whether your team members have just joined you or they have been with you for over 1 year, T Credits and Gift Certificates would be my choice of a great gift.
