The first thing I would do differently is immediately go back and bookmark the page/blog that lead me to SFI. It was a wonderful article and so very convincing. I wish I had it now as a tool to help me recruit new affiliates. Unfortunately, by the time I realized how important it was, I had no way of finding it again.
The only other thing I would do differently is buy a Wave 3 kit from the very start, because I now realize what a great marketing tool it is, and of course those free TCredits and MRPs each month would definitely come in handy. Unfortunately my timing was bad and I'm still waiting for it to arrive… but I'm sure the postman will be knocking at my door any day now, ha ha!
That is all I would do differently because I was fortunate enough to become enthralled by SFI from the moment I joined. I was truly ready for this new challenge so I got off on the 'Fast Track' straight away, and as I saw how fast and easy it was to accumulate VersaPoints, and how rich and complete the training material was, my enthusiasm grew in leaps and bounds.
By logging in every day to do my Daily Actions and Launchpad lessons, I was able to get my cues on what to do next and why. By the time I became EA and received my first batch of CSAs, I more or less knew what to tell them. Thankfully, both my knowledge and my communications skills have improved since then, thanks to the teachings of SFI.:D
To avoid having any regrets or wishing things could have been done differently, my advice to every new affiliate is: take Nike's motto to heart and "JUST DO IT!". From the moment you join, concentrate on getting things done. Follow instructions carefully, start earning VersaPoints, study the material SFI provides, gradually begin to apply what you learn, and then pass your new-found knowledge on to others.
