What a timely question! This has just happened to me this week, and the pain is still very raw.
It's not my PSA, but a very hardworking and active CSA sent me a note that said he is quitting because of the exact same reason you have mentioned. He said he is going to concentrate instead on a new business.
Of course, I was shocked and saddened by his message. So I wrote back and advised him to think it over before doing anything and to give his business a bit more time to grow. As BTL he had built a good size team and was consistently keeping his rank.
I said think hard of all the good work, time, effort and money he had invested in his business will be gone. That he's a very friendly, valuable member of my Team as we often share jokes and other messages in my Facebook as well as thru team mail.
I asked if he has discussed his decision with his sponsor. I tried to persuade him to take a break, but not to quit. However, if he really wanted to leave SFI, there's nothing I can do so wished him good luck. Still, I sent him a "Don't Go" E-card. And for a few days I was so happy to see him still on my Movers list. I thought my efforts were not in vain and he had reconsidered.
Only to be crushed when I saw his name on my OPT OUTS in my Genealogy lately. His reason- no time.
Sure, I felt hurt because I lost not only a valuable team member but also a friend. But, what else can I do? Now, I've learned to let go and wish him well in his new business and in whatever he does.
But life goes on, and more new 2-Home CSAs are coming, although one good person will never be replaced.
