Hi Daphne,

I would be ecstatic if more affiliates were interested in doing AT LEAST their Daily To-Do list! The reality is that many do it halfheartedly or not at all. Therefore, I think it is a very positive sign when affiliates log-in regularly to do their Daily To-Do list.

Perhaps they don't do much else because they want to absorb one part of the program before skipping to the next stage; many may feel overwhelmed by so much information and prefer to stick to a simple routine; or maybe they are busy doing other things that have nothing to do with SFI and don't have much time to spare.

No matter what their reason is for only doing their Daily To-Do list, the good news is that they ARE doing it, which means they ARE interested and DO want to learn something new. They are your Movers, even if they don't advance in rank, because they are earning VP each day, which means they absolutely deserve your personal attention.

In order to motivate them to do other activities, first you need to get to know them. Study their Profile to find out why their joined SFI, what their goals and expectations are, and which part of the program is most and least appealing to them. Then establish one-on-one contact and offer specific ways you can help them benefit more from this program.

Even if they do not respond, you should definitely continue to provide tips and information –once or twice a week–, that clearly fit their particular needs. If they DO respond and ask questions, always answer them within 24 hours. That way they will know that you are there to support them and will feel more confident and motivated.

This may sound hopelessly optimistic, but I believe that affiliates who only log-in to do their Daily To-Do list will eventually realize that they are sitting on a potential gold mine. Once that realization sets in, there will be no stopping them, so be sure to show how much you appreciate their efforts, and be there for them when they are ready to take the next step.

Hi Dan,

Advertising is about whetting someone's appetite for something they didn't even know they wanted until they saw it. Watch how they present ads on TV, for example. I know I've wanted a Dyson vacuum cleaner ever since I saw their ad, even though I already have a perfectly good vacuum cleaner at home. That's the power of advertising!

To harness the power of advertising in this case, you have to convince those who read your ads that they really need your product or service. If you lack experience, I suggest you start the learning process by using the examples SFI provides and add your personal touch to them. These examples are effective, but if everyone uses them exactly as they are written, they won't stand out from the rest. That is why your personal touch is so important.

I would also suggest you look for as many ads as you can on the Internet that are similar to what you are offering, and study the ones that appeal to you the most. Which ones do you think are the most promising or attractive? Which ones make you want to know more about their product? Once you understand what it is about them that provokes a positive reaction in you, you'll have a better idea of how to present your own ads.

By experimenting with different ideas and concepts, you will learn what works and what doesn't. It takes some creativity to get it right but you are not alone: even advertisers who do this for a living have sometimes embarked on ad campaigns that failed to produce the results they were hoping for. Failing is how you learn what to avoid in the future, so don't be afraid to experiment until you get it right.

Finally, I think that if you write your ads with a specific audience in mind, you will get better results. In order to do this, you need to do your homework! For example, if you know what your target audience thinks about online auctions, make sure your ads contain something that appeals directly to their dreams or desires; a phrase or a word that will goad them into action when they read your ads.

You only have a small window of opportunity to catch and maintain your affiliates' attention in a chat, so make sure the first thing they know is who you are and what you can do for them, in short and easy-to-read sentences. If they have just joined SFI, tell them they can read your Greeting for valuable tips on how to get started.

If the affiliates answer back and ask questions (what a blessing!) provide simple answers so as not to overwhelm them. While you chat, don't forget to check their VP Ledger to see what they are doing. If they are working on their To-Do List, try to nudge them gently in the right direction, praise them for their efforts and encourage them to keep going.

First of all, potential ECA prospects need to know that TripleClicks is a reputable online store. In order to do that, you need to explain what TripleClicks is and how long it has been in business. Once they understand the concept of TripleClicks, you can explain the ECA program.

This is a very good question:

Although SFI has many good team leaders who make every possible effort to help their downlines, I believe that the best example of a truly successful leader at SFI would be Gery Carson, perhaps because he is the most visible leader we have.

Despite all his years of success, he still takes time out of his busy schedule to check out the Forum and answer questions. We feel his presence every single day. He is continuously looking for ways to improve and create a friendly workplace where we feel protected and secure. He is also constantly finding new and more practical ways for us affiliates to take our businesses to the next level.

For me, that is the perfect example of a successful and hands-on leader. We should all try to emulate him as best we can since, in the end, we all share the same goals: to earn more money and make SFI and TripleClicks the best and most reputable businesses on the internet.

This means that all team leaders should have that same profound knowledge of SFI and communicate it correctly and in simple terms to their downlines. Not only that, they also need to inspire and motivate their teams by being persistent without being too pushy. Successful leaders should instill trust in their downlines and show them that they care for everyone's bottom line, not just their own.

The best way to maintain your SFI position and continue to support your team is:

1. Turn your Vacation mode "ON" to preserve your VP streak.

2. Send your entire team a Group Mailer before you leave, letting them know how long you will be away, and include as much general information as you can, to tide them over until you get back. This is especially important if you have active PSAs or CSAs who need special attention: in this case, try to anticipate as many of their individual needs as possible before you leave.

3. If some of your affiliates need help urgently while you are away, tell them to leave a comment on your latest stream post in the Team Talk section of the Stream tab. Explain to them that the Team Talk section is where you and your team can exchange information, share ideas and help each other out, so it's important to review it daily. These posts can only be seen by you and other members of your team. It is like a private mini forum.

4. Let your team know that, if you get the chance, you will be checking in to see if you have any messages, but not to expect an immediate answer, not because you have forgotten them, but because you may not have regular internet service where you are staying.

5. Make sure you have generated enough VP to maintain your position or rank before you leave by: a) setting up a Standing Order or, if you already have a Standing Order and still don't have enough VP; b) purchase something at TripleClicks with a VP value that will ensure you maintain your rank.

6. Once you have done all that, you can relax and enjoy your holiday! You deserve it for being such an awesome sponsor!

Hello Jovan,

Personally, I prefer individual messages. I have a short welcome letter I send to new affiliates as soon as they arrive, because chances are they will also read my official PSA Greeting, and I don't want to inundate them with too much information.

If many affiliates arrive at the same time, I send them my short welcome message through a group mail, only because I want them to receive it as soon as possible. But if they arrive one by one, I like to send them E-cards with slight modifications to the original welcome message, depending on each individual, to make the message even more personal and appealing. For example, if a new affiliate is from my country, I write the message in his or her mother tongue to make them feel more at home.

If I am lucky enough to catch new affiliates who are still online when I log in, I use SFI chat to send my welcome message and if they answer, I ask them to read my PSA Greeting for more details. In every case I sign my message with my name, SFI rank, Leadership page link and personal email so that they know I am available and willing to help them.

If some new affiliates have already started earning points before I send my first welcome letter, I can modify my message to congratulate them for their specific actions and progress, in order to show them that I am there to support them.

Nonetheless, there is one very important aspect we must always take into consideration: new affiliates have only been at SFI for a few minutes or a few hours when they receive our welcome message. They may still be undecided as to whether SFI is the right option for them. They may read our message, but there is no guarantee they will answer it.

So don't worry! whether it is an individual welcome letter, a chat message, an e-card or a group mailing, just make sure your initial communication is warm and inviting. Keep it short but with enough information to get your affiliates started on the right track.

I tell them that SFI is our 'office' where we come to do our daily chores, recruit new affiliates and get together with our team to strategize and see if any member needs help. We also set aside some time to learn how to improve our business by going to the ASK SC section and the Forum to see what the experts have to say about a wide range of topics, and last but not least, we visit the SFI news section to keep up with the latest events and trends. It's like reading the newspaper, but without getting your fingers dirty.

On the other hand, TripleClicks is like going out into the 'field'. You visit different stores to see their latest products and services and then let potential clients know about these products and services by advertising them in different venues online and offline. You can also disseminate the many services TripleClicks provides to its members in order to bring in new referrals. There are many effective tools available to help you do all this from home on your computer, tablet or smart phone, which save you a lot of time and money.

I was explaining to my husband yesterday that we as humans tend to gravitate towards people we know and like. From like comes trust. For example, we watch our local newscasters every night and over time they start to feel like part of the family. Not only do we trust them with our news, we also start to empathize with their problems and celebrate their good fortune.

Nowadays we all have the opportunity to become newscasters through our updates on our social networks, our blogs, websites or, here at SFI, in the Forum and the ASK SC section. In order to stand out from the crowd, write articles or posts that are original, interesting, useful and well-written.

People who are interested in what you have to say will eventually want to get to know you better. They will become your loyal followers or a2a friends and share your knowledge with others. As your popularity grows, others will want to know who you are and how you can contribute something useful to their lives.

You are a bright and capable individual and even though your information comes from sources used by many other people at SFI and elsewhere, it's your personal viewpoint that makes you stand out from the crowd.
