I would stress the fact that SFI is not a pyramid or get rich quick scheme. Nor is it an investment site where you can expect an exaggerated 400% ROI within a few weeks. SFI offers you a platform to build a business with and a very large community of support and knowledge. Taking months, heck years, to build up a solid profitable business that will sustain itself for years to come. Give broad examples that put their position into perspective [maybe like "a person doesn't start their education at grade 12 and graduate within a week"] and gently map out for them all the factors they must first understand and apply before they can expect to see a larger (if any) return or commission. I would also make a point of directing them to some of SFI's success stories and let them know that they, themselves, through study, application, duplication, and commitment can achieve like results. Encourage them to connect with those who are behind these testimonials and gain insight as to how they became to successful (again with the duplication)
Most of all I would encourage them to continue as there will come a day they will look at all they have achieved and be proud

Great question! This is something I did a lot of research on before I started to build my website. There are endless points of interest when considering what is best suited; Thematic color design, Color combinations, Background colors, Font colors, Color clashes, Target Audience & Branding. You never want to use more than two bold colors on your website, that in mind I wouldn't choose a flashy banner. A common mistake many make is for there banner color to match the background when instead it should meld (meaning blend in.) Try to two-tone whatever banners are available with the color of your website and always have the banner lighter in color to make it 'stand on top' of the other. The only other major factor I would think is the Target Audience point. I try not to use the banners with the "spend more time with your family" messages because of where I advertise. Whereas if you have a blog that reaches out to stay-at-home mom or dads it would be perfect for you.

The greatest feature of the genealogy report is you are able to filter and sort. I will always (include all) use my full genealogy when sending out a basic and informative mailer. One that touches base or highlights something new. As for affiliates who are not only inactive but less than responsive I apply filters. Usually once a month I will sort my team members and those who have not logged in for so long will get a mail. I have also made it a goal of mine to keep track a list of those who have yet to whitelist SFI. Once a month or maybe every two they will receive an email from me from outside SFI (as long as they have not chosen to opt out (this is very important you are not mailing them still if they have chosen so. It is SPAM and you can/will be ejected from SFI) Asking if they are in need of assistance, direction, etc and let them know that whitelisting, completing their profile and so on is a really good place to start. Some have responded, most have not. Yet. That is what I keep telling myself, until they give up on their own success I will not as well. After all, I am their sponsor; I will continue to treat them as part of my team until they choose otherwise

I message my affiliates almost every single day! It lets them know how seriously I take being in charge of creating my own stream of income. I make it happen, I am putting in the time, and most importantly my message lets them know I am available to them. If they see how dedicated I am they (I hope) will have a greater understanding that this isn't like checking your email, you have to put your mind and body into it. My message will be nothing more than a short tip on advertising or if they haven't logged in for a few days I will let them know that I do notice "It was great to see you log in today! Hope to see you on here again tomorrow" That sort of thing.

Many will tell you to start in your own hometown, I think this is the wrong way to go about exploring ECA prospecting. Hometown prospecting is the right idea but throw that "smaller" thinking on a larger scale... Grab a phone book; put together a list of smaller towns, starting with ones within your region/county. From there do a little bit of research into the businesses these town already possess. I would categorize into two separate types:
(1) Towns that have larger scale departments stores
(2) Towns too small to have department stores

Reason being is your pitch to the business(es) located in an area without a department store do not have large competition so you will be approaching the owners differently. Simply makes it easier to stay organized is all. Don't limit yourself to only one town, group them! Often smaller towns will have the same or similar franchises and not just Ma & Pop stores. Maybe see if a few of these businesses would be interested in doing this collectively. Small town way of thinking is to band together so who knows, it's just one more way to market your idea!

Now, as for the "type" of business to approach the answer is simple

-Do they sell a common product that people buy? ie. necessities, toiletries, etc. (Staying away from the obvious, you wouldn't list a common grocery item as it is not practical)
-Can you ship it at a reasonable price?
-Has the TC market been flooded with product X already?


If you can answer Yes, Yes, and No then this is the perfect business to approach and approaching them with a game plan of including a cluster of other shops throughout surrounding areas will not only make them feel more at ease (not being "targeted") but also would put a little bit of pressure on them (if they don't jump on this opportunity someone else might, they could have had these potential sales and lost out.)

When one is wanting to recruit ECAs the possibilities are endless, as long as you are willing to not give up! Different people buy different things everyday, EVERY business is a lead, so follow it!

I would refer them to the internet income courses as they teach you the ins and outs of Everything. I am not a beginner by far but as for mete tags, hash links etc I'm totally lost. SFI offers the internet income course which teaches your all this and more!

I'm unable to give a generalized answer to this question as I personalize each of my messages at that level. By the time any of my PSA's have achieved EA status I have usually developed a rapport with them. However, I do direct them to the benefits chart, the income index, and gently remind them that you get out of something what you put into it. Another place to advise them of is the testimonials page or the forum where other EA's and TL's have shared their success stories.
