The best questions I have to ask someone to tell if they are serious and dedicated are as follows.

1. If I show you a retail marketplace with nearly 4 million members already, offering nearly 100,000 products from 6,000 vendors that runs a hugely successful Penny Auction are you ready to promote this offer should you decide to join?

2. When you join a program like our affiliate marketing company are you aware that even though affiliate programs are free to join they do require an investment of time and/or money to generate income because nothing is earned unless sales are made?

3. How much time do you have per day and per week to devote to a Home Based business and can you make this time a part of your schedule instead of being inconsistent in when you work?

4. Are you willing to wait 6 months to a year before your investments in your success start building a substantial return?

5. Will you follow instructions closely and learn our methods to build your business or do you have your own system you will be applying to this business opportunity?

6. What are your goals for the next 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, and 5 years? What will you sacrifice to reach those goals?

These questions are all important and I would be hard pressed to choose a best one but question 6 is probably the most important because a good prospect needs to realize that getting what they want in life is going to take some sacrifices. You can do this without money, but you will have to give up more time, lose more sleep, spend less time on things you love to do, and put up with a degree of discomfort, doing things like cold prospecting, phone follow-ups, and supporting your team no matter how silly their questions may seem or how often these questions might come.

The important thing to accomplish is to get them started smoothly without scaring them off with a ton of links and instructions.

I have seen many affiliates with inactive teams who swear by a welcome mail with 25 links in it that is a mile long. They say it's what they wished they had when they joined but the fact they are writing threads complaining about 99% of their referrals being inactive shows that these mailings are not working.

A Good e-mail will read something like this.

With traffic there are many options but the question is do you want lasting, sustainable results?

My bet is, with a question like this you are looking beyond the low quality of most free advertising sources. Traffic Exchanges, Safelist, Directory Submissions, and Free Classifieds all take massive amounts of time to get slow to no results. Fact is people go to these things looking to advertise an offer not to join a program so it can take 1,000 visitors to get one sign up and that's only if you try to sell them on the word FREE, which means you probably wont make any money off that recruit.

Pay Per Click, Banner and Display Ads, offline Newspaper and TV Ads all offer degrees of targeted traffic with virtually no limits but have cost that are tough to sustain while your business is still growing. You could spend $10,000.00 to get a team strong enough to pay you $1,000 to $2,000 a month in income which in the long term is a great investment but in the short term you just spent $10,000.00 on a potential return that is in no manner guaranteed.

Viral Marketing is an option.

With viral marketing you create or pay to have created a downline club script or re-brand-able e-book you can give away, video training materials with a link to join the program overlay-ed, or Infographics for Social Media and let the first person who views them share with their friends and so on. The issue is that it takes time for these to spread and gain steam and if they have any flaws they might not spread at all.

That brings up Article Marketing preferably blog based and socially shared via networks like Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest.

With article marketing you don't have to be a great writer, you can learn as you go or even outsource the writing to others for as little as $5 per article. You just need to be consistent and have the right tools for syndication to which I recommend using the Wordpress platform as it is by far the most powerful system on the web today to build a blog or website. So much so that fortune 500 companies host their entire network of sites using the Wordpress Content Management System.

The reason article marketing is so powerful is that articles index in search engines free of charge and in as little as 30 minutes after posting. Every indexed article is like adding a Billboard on a major freeway, at first you may only have a couple billboards but if you ad 1 article a week you will have 52 billboards working 365 days a year for your site at little to no cost in a year's time. Add 1 new article a day and that's 365 new billboards a year pointing to your business.

Articles work fast and they work long term.

A article that is shared socially with even a modest network of like minded connections can see 100-200 visitors the first 24 hours of it's existence or more. If the article is informative and reads well and get's shared often it will gain more traffic each month for several months. I have one article on my blog that has had over 2,000 monthly views for a year now, that's 24,000 minimum unique viewer to the banners I have around my articles and links within them from a single post that went viral.

Even if you get 10 views a day on an article and add 52 articles a year the work you did to write one article per week could be generating 520 unique visitors a day to your ads within a year. That's over 15,000 visitors a month off a weekly blog that is your potential and it just keeps growing because next year you will add another 52 articles. The year after another 52 articles, etc..

These post are indexed for years and can draw traffic every time someone seeks the information in them. Learn to do keyword analysis and write to trends in your niche, and write content people want to read and you might soon have a site like the one I helped build that had over 3 million monthly page views off 600,000 unique visitors, generating nearly 5 million ad-views each month.

Figure out how many pages you would have to surf to get traffic like that.

Add up 5 million ad views at $10 per thousand or 50,000 ad clicks at a minimum 20 cents each and you will understand the value of that kind of traffic and it can all be generated for free by learning how to blog.

The best part is you blog can be about anything you desire. You could have a blog about fishing and a banner that reads Earn cash for that new Bass Boat and you will get people joining SFI every month like clockwork.

These things are typically operated just outside the law enough that they fold in a year or two, and all the people at the bottom lose money.

Summary:

Then there is little old SFI which already has 16 years in business and has paid million through a business plan even a caveman could understand. You work hard and promote sales of over 90,000 products from around the world. That earns you Sales VP and Direct Commissions. You then recruit 5 people and teach them how to generate Sales VP and earn commissions while searching for their 5 people.

SFI and TripleClicks are no less secure than Ebay or Amazon, both of which were hacked and are under daily attacks.

Facebook recently had personal data stolen on 200 million+ users, Twitter was hacked last year, several U.S. and International banks were hacked and robbed late last year to the tune of over 120 million U.S. dollars.

Sad to say no business can guarantee it wont happen or wont hurt if it does happen but SFI has been openly updating us as to the fixes they are implementing. They have kept us updated well into the late hours of their day and worked through last weekend and were still answering member questions Saturday night.

Nowhere online will you get near the personal response you did with SFI. With all those sources I listed above you barely got a single message in your e-mail that simply stated the site was attacked and information was lost. With SFI people were on hand directly answering individual questions and offering personal support.

Each person needs to decide if that stellar display of loyalty to SFI and TripleClicks members was enough to reassure them but I am telling you that a better response to such a bad situation can not and will not be handled better than what this team has done.

If you have your own website or blog, set up a pop3 e-mail account like [email protected] .

Send a personal welcome e-mail from that address when a PSA Joins. If they gave a good e-mail address you will not get a report back but if you get a bounce report the e-mail address was invalid.

Using your own domain name and self hosted e-mail account looks more professional and is less apt to run into delivery issues because of SPAM filters etc.. SFI send millions of e-mails per month so having the same message come from SFI as comes from you with a SPAM Alert Term like Home Business, the SFI mail is more apt to get put in the SPAM folder than the e-mail account sending 50 messages a month with that term in it.

Get a E-mail Spam Checker,

There are free and paid tools available to check an e-mail on a 5 point scale for likelihood of being stopped by SPAM Filters. Keeping e-mails under a 2.5 score will ensure more e-mails get delivered and fewer end up in the SPAM folder.

Never include more than 3 links in the body of an e-mail, and avoid promotional signature files and plan on having more text than image content. If you have a image in the e-mail add 3-4 lines of text as well so it doesn't look like an HTML Advert designed to trick SPAM Filters.

Check your e-mail address regularly to see if it is blacklisted at Spamhaus and Project Honeypot. These services will let you know if there have been numerous complaints about your e-mail sending SPAM because it's always possible that your e-mail account gets hacked by spammers who send these unsolicited commercial mailings under your name. I have had it happen to me a couple times and had to prove the hack had occurred and had been fixed to get the e-mail or domain unblocked.

Above all don't send sales pitches and advertising, send valuable content and people will not report you for SPAM and will be more likely to follow your links.

To do this you need not only a Advertising Budget for things like PSA To Go and S-Builder positions but also a long term marketing plan like Article Marketing, Blogging, and Social Media. You don't want to have to continue to pour in what you make to keep pace with the growth of your co-op, so building web properties that do the recruiting and training for you is a great way to have your co-op grow with your team.

When you place an ad it gets a finite amount of results, but adding a page to a blog is a permanent, search engine indexed gateway to your advertising.

As you write new post you are adding new gateways to your business, to your co-op. Write 10 pages there are 10 doors to your shop.
