This is a good question and I answer it as I contemplate launching out to attract such ECAs to SFI. Small or large consumer retail or wholesale businesses are the best to focus on to maximise ECA recruitment by giving to them the sweetener of no cost advertising to them and global exposure of their products and services to millions of potential customers.
Such business include but are not limited to the following...
1. Beauty Supply Stores e.g seller of cosmetics for hair face and whole

While it does no harm when an affiliate rushes around trying to refer every retailer, craftsman, and service provider who will listen, it pays to make plans, set goals in order to maximize the total results of the referrals that actually come in.

I look for businesses;

1) that have a product line that includes items that people want to buy and prices set so
they will buy, from toilet paper to speed boats.

2) that have a product line that includes items that

The best businesses to focus on for ECA recruitment are small independents. The reasons are as follows:

1. They don't have the corporate sponsorship of a franchise. Franchises have websites and the budget to promote through any means that they see fit. If they chose to participate with any unapproved source, there is a bureaucracy to deal with. By the time you reach who really has the power to make the decision the answer will be will we decide when and if we choose.

2.

The best types of businesses to focus on are:

1) Local small businesses that have little money for advertising. The possibility of having a worldwide base of customers and a platform to upload their products for free and have thousands of affiliates promote those products is amazing.

2) Herbal and wellness companies. Health and wellness is always a big niche to tap into.

3) Digital product retailers. The instant nature of the products coupled with no shipping costs

I would think the small Mom and Pop stores would be the best for
the ECA program. Most small businesses are already stuggling to
make sales and have only a few reliable customers who only come
every once in a while, so they would most likely be open to having
a way to sell internationally and boost their bottom line.

Helping people in your country also helps the economy and provides
jobs. When they make more money, they're more able to hire new
employees

That is a very good question. The right one too. There is a vast worldwide population to cater to with the E commerce biz. There are two types of e-commerce markets out there:
1. Consumer Market or retail market
2. Industrial Market or bulk sourcing market.

Any business with divergent and vast product base can do well.

As SFI is based on affiliate marketing system; it is therefore more prudent to concentrate on Consumer based market worldwide.

This is a question I have often considered myself and I have come up with a few answers: businesses with medium to small sized items and businesses that already have a store online, but is small and struggling. Of course there are probably others, but these two stick out the most to me.

Businesses with medium to small sized items will have a much easier time shipping, especially internationally. Where businesses with large items will have a difficult time, as the buyers in other countries

Personally I have gone for stall holders, or crafters to start with
here was my thinking- Large businesses with websites will think ECA is going to split their traffic and they will want everyone to go straight to their own website.
smaller businesses with their own website, especially local businesses use their websites to bring in people to their brick and mortar store. and they probably won't have the time to run 2 websites or deal with shipping. Most small brick and mortar stores sell

First of all, before searching of what types of businesses to refer to ECA Program, I assumed this is the essence of your question, we need to bear in mind, and how e-commerce can help businesses to market their products and enjoy consistent profit.

Focus on the businesses that have little or no presence online. Small businesses that have little or no e-commerce capabilities on their websites will learn about taking the next step in converting their marketing sites into selling locations
