Hi, Boza! Thanks for asking! I must admit that this is a question I’ve been asking myself ever since I joined SFI.

We’re all concerned about recruiting PSAs, that’s of crucial importance in this business. If you don’t succeed in building your team, the chances for overall success are very small. So, first of all, while you’re still deciding which option is better, please don’t waste your time on thinking and advertise, the way you can and wherever you can. Every single ad is a potential PSA!

I’ve heard people saying that PSAs you recruit yourself work better than those bought at an auction, for example. I’ve come to conclusion that they’re wrong. It seems to me that you don’t know what you’ll get either way. Both might turn up to be hard workers, or they might not. There’s no guarantee. I chose to use all available means of attracting new affiliates, including:

1. Facebook ads
2. free classifieds
3. paid advertising
4. buying them at auctions
5. warm marketing
6. spreading the word about the program whenever and wherever I get the chance

Unfortunately, I haven’t distributed any fliers yet, because the ones provided by SFI are in English and I live in a non-English speaking country. But if you live in an English-speaking country, you should do that as well. There are also many other marketing tools and aids in SFI marketing section, use them all.

The point is, only a very small percentage of PSAs stay and are willing to work hard. Maybe you’ll need to recruit hundreds before you find 2-3 quality PSAs, and that’s when your business will start blooming. That won’t happen overnight, maybe even a couple of months will go by, but they will come, sooner or later.

Until that time, I say practice both advertising and bidding for them, plus all the other means. There’s no such thing as too many PSAs. The more there are, the bigger are the chances to find those 2-3 hard workers.

And, regardless of how you get them, remember that you play a very important role in keeping them. Develop your strategies, prepare your instructions for getting started and have them ready at hand for potential PSAs, follow their progress daily, communicate with them as much as THEY feel comfortable with it, share your tips and ideas, show your willingness to help them and never, ever advise them to do something you yourself wouldn’t do. People can sense it when you’re being honest and respectful, and they will respond likewise.

I would say probably a little of both!
The real answer boils down to: "How fast do you want your down line?" and "How fast do you want it to grow?"
If you don't have a lot of time buying PSAs is a good way to build or start a down-line. However, knowing a little about how to get them on your own is quite useful.
Although I have taken the time to try most of the marketing methods. It takes time to learn and implement, and there time to see results. Because of that, PSA purchases and/or S-builder Co-ops work great, while still trying to figure out the ins and outs of recruiting techniques.
The other thing to remember is that no matter whether you purchase or recruit you still can not guarantee a successful member. I know I get frustrated when my down-line is growing but entirely (or nearly so)inactive. Inactive recruits will always be part of the system. You never which one are serious or just trying things out, but the more you have the more likely you are to find the one or two that will make your team worth everything else.

This is a matter of personal preference, your personal situation and your current training or knowledge. Read more in the learning center if you are unsure.

This is a question you will want to ask yourself:
How comfortable am I talking with people about SFI?

If you are good talking with people, I would suggest building your team just by speaking with people and letting them know why you have joined, the benefits of joining and then invite them to join with you. Or if you are a blogger or web designer, you can add links to your blog or sites.


If on the other hand, you have the money to invest- you can buy or bid on PSA's at TripleClicks. You can build a large amount of affiliates quickly, but this will mean quantity over quality in some cases.

Assess you personal situation and decide what is going to work best for you. Both ways can work, just keep in mind that any business will take some time and effort to build.

I think you should try both methods. Experimentation on your part will teach you like nothing else will. See if you're good at recruiting on your own through free and paid advertising, personal contacts and all the methods presented in the Training section.

Try buying some PSAs and see how that goes. If your expecting that people will just sign up and buy like crazy, your kidding yourself. They need to see the benefit in the business and what's in it for them. That's where you come in. Someone who signs up free as an affiliate is probably wondering, "Is SFI for real?" "Can I make money here". It's up to you to show them that they can succeed. If your not a flaming success yet, then point out how some members are. This is one area that you should not be afraid to tell the truth. If you're just starting say so. But also, say that you have notice how many successful affiliates there are with all the various ranks and if they can do it, your feel you can too.

My suggestion to start is S-Builder. Also consider some of the ECAs that sell sign ups. Just remember that many of these people may not be productive. It's a matter of working with the workers.

Which brings up an interesting point. Wouldn't you want to work with someone that you see is really putting forth an effort? Watch your Movers and contact them.

Definitely try both methods for a while and see what suits you. Everyone is unique. Share your success with your downline since if they are successful, so are you!

This is a great question!!

I originally started out purchasing my PSA's, because I admit, I had no clue how to sponsor. Honestly, even though it gave me a jump start, it was an expensive way to start out and I have not gotten a return on that investment from those PSA's.

I am now learning how to sponsor on my own. I talk to people, I place free ads online, I place free ads offline. I am now confident in what I am doing and I really think that was they key to me learning how to sponsor on my own. CONFIDENCE! In myself, in SFI.

If you need the boost to get started, you can purchase your PSA's, but they may be expensive and you may or may not see any return on that investment. I recommend learning how to sponsor yourself.

Your question may depend on your time frame of your primary goal and your available time and funds investment.

What would you like to be in five years? Or ten years? The ideal way is combining both methods of purchasing PSAs to save time and learning to do your sponsoring.

If you are about to retire from regular work in five or ten years, you will need to set up a plan to manage your time and funds that you’re going to invest in SFI. Sponsoring plays an important role in your goal. It may be advantageous to purchase PSAs provided you have the available funds, in this way you save time, especially if you are still having a full time job. You need also to consider the time you spend for your sponsored PSAs in communicating with them, in helping them to build their teams.

Learn to set up your own lead system and then co-op with your PSAs. You need leads to build your team. Start small and then increase your ads. Analyze your ads results and go with the ads that meet your expectation. Doing this requires some amount of time, but it can be done by managing your time efficiently. Producing a large team of passionate movers will translate into a big income! The benefit of doing your own advertising is, sharing to your PSAs your experience and this could be very valuable to them.

If time is not an issue, you can do your own advertising by applying the marketing methods provided for SFI affiliates. You can use the free online advertising, distributing flyers, and advertising in free classified ads and so on. This may require considerable amount of time.

I would say do both!

In order to get the ball rolling and feel the thrill of having your own PSAs, I suggest you acquire some from any of the ECA stores at TripleClicks that offer them or buy into an S-Builder Co-op Unit. There is no guarantee any of the affiliates will be active, but you never know how or when someone can suddenly take an interest and start working their SFI business.

Another less expensive way to get PSAs is by winning them in TripleClicks auctions. These are supposedly more likely to become active but then again who knows. It's the luck of the draw. At least they won't cost you as much and you'll have some fun.

As for sponsoring them yourself, you can create a blog, website or squeeze page and get sign ups through them. In this case at least you have control over what you want to say to attract your potential affiliates. You may not get as many if you emphasize that this is not a get rich quick scheme, but sometimes it's better to have quality over quantity.

You can also spread the word among your friends and family and evaluate their reasons for joining as well as their willingness to work. If you find a good candidate amongst the people closest to you, it will be easier to mentor him/her and then you can concentrate on duplication while you continue to look for more diamonds in the rough.

And last but not least, you can advertise your SFI gateways in free or paid advertising venues and social networks to find PSAs. SFI has all the tools you need to do this, so if you have the knowledge and enough time to do it, this could be a good source of new affiliates.

Hi Boza,

I am sure it is important to learn how to sponsor PSAs from oneself.

Aside from the direct advertising,one made to family members or friends, other forms of advertising are the same because no one can guarantee that affiliates will be active.

It all depends on the amount that you have, to achieve maximum number of contacts using free advertising, paid advertising or by purchasing new PSAs.

It could be demoralizing to spend much time in flyers or online advertising, if you do not have feedback you want.

Buying the PSAs is expensive but it brings immediate possibilities.

I suggest you try all the Marketing Center suggested methods and use key code to realize which is the best form of advertising.

Just insert a dot and a number of your choice after your ID  number.

For example: xxxxxxxx.10 (flyers), xxxxxxxx.20 (cards), xxxxxxxx.30 (Facebook) and so on.

I will say straight away that you should do both if you have the resources to buy PSAs and if you have the skills, the time and the techniques to sponsor PSAs. DUPLICATION is a major key to growth, earnings and residual income in SFI. You need PSAs for that, lots of PSAs. The more PSAs you have, the better. How you acquire them matters very little but you need them anyway if you want to earn real good in this business.

If you have the resources, you can buy them from ECAs who sell PSAs. Even with that, you can also learn to sponsor PSAs directly yourself. I recommend you do both side by side for good results and maximum benefits.

In my own opinion,both.
If one pays for sign ups there is always a tendency that you would need to spend more money as out of say 100 affiliates about 1% would be active so one would need to buy some more PSA to build a solid team. Also,using free and paid sites to advertise are some of the ways to get some PSA.Also,buying the s-builder co-op monthly is another form of acquiring PSA as well as participating in price benders to win some PSA'S.
For one to recruit affiliates word of mouth has been the one that has worked personally for me. First,i started by joining wav3 and distributed the cards.Informed them about the benefits to be derived by joining with just paying for the cost of shipping ($1.95) or i pay for them.Once they join,i organise a seminar formally introducing them to SFI and explaining the benefits.A form is passed round for the attendees to fill out and return with a contact number.To aid communication.
Asides seminars,by word of mouth to family members and friends.
In summary whether purchased psa's or recruitment by word of mouth,the bottom line is we would have a larger team and more commissions.
