To gain the trust of your affiliates is very important and the only way you to build a good team.
1) As soon as a new affiliate joins the team, it's important to send a welcome e-mail or team-mail.
2) Include your e-mail address, ask them to let you know they've received the message, and they're welcome to contact you with any questions they may have.
3) Serious workers will respond and most do ask questions.
4) Answer any messages from your affiliates as soon as possible. If you not sure of answer tell them you will get back to them with the answer. If you can't find answer, ask your up-line.
5) Follow up in a few days with another mailing of the daily tasks needed and any tips of what's expected of them.
6) Before the end of the month, send a mailing about what they'll need to re-qualify the following months and any tips that will help them get to EA or higher each month.
7) You may want to reward any affiliates that do well with a gift certificate or have a contest to give a gift certificate or gift card for anyone that qualifies for a certain level.
8) Praise the movers and anyone else that is doing well on your team. I suggest using the Stream for this or individual mailings.
9) A monthly Newsletter also helpful with communication.
10) Be aware many new affiliates will never do anything.
This is one of the downfalls of being able to sign up for free.
Keep sending the monthly mailing to the complete team, it may be the right time for an inactive affiliate to become active.

Personally, I send a thank you message to anyone, who connects with my ECA page on TripleClicks and congratulations message to my a2a friends, who win the Daily Grand.

To develop trust with your affiliates and get them to follow your leadership is not as difficult as it may seem at first. To position yourself correctly, it is important to have attained some level of success for yourself. Remember the poor man's wisdom is despised. If he were Donald Trump then people would hinge on every bit of advice he gives. Why? Donald Trump is a billionaire. So if you want to be a billionaire, you'd better take notes!

Moreover, you must set the expectation early on in the relationship. Empathize with your affiliates as you were once a 'newbie' like them. Explain to them in everyday language how to get from Start to EA2. Remind them that you've been there and done it so that they can learn from your mistakes and cut their learning curb. Finally, hold their hand through the process in the earlier stages until they are comfortable with the process.
Do this and you will not only earn their trust but also their respect.

As far as getting your down line to follow your leadership, that is a choice that they must make. They can either choose to learn from you and achieve equal or greater success or they can go solo. Going solo is not wrong but it doesn't contribute to team spirit. Put yourself in your sponsor's shoes and would you want your PSA to completely ignore the good advice that you offer? NO! So, listen to your sponsor, weigh the validity of what they teach in the scale of common sense and if it measures up to salt take their advice. If not offer constructive criticism as to why not but don't just insult your sponsors efforts to help you by just ignoring them. It's rude and disrespectful. If you want respect give it. To be a good leader yourself you must learn how to follow.

When a mutual understanding exists between you and your down line, then you can really see the power of the compensation plan in action. Not only that, the excitement and synergy will build because EVERYONE wins when you work together as a team. Make the process simple and easy to duplicate and those you want to achieve success will follow your guidance. Never try to ride a wild horse. There are plenty that will not only let you ride but will work for you as long as you feed them! Take care of your workers and they will reward you back with loyalty.

In order to make my affiliates trust me and follow me, I need to lead by example.

Because my team will do what I do and not what I ask them to do!

To be a role model to my team, I would do the following;

1) Login everyday and complete my daily, weekly and monthly actions without fail. It will help me go to a leadership position which in turn will motivate my team to follow me.

2) Update my Leadership Page with some useful tips and information which will be helpful to my team. Announce a couple of monthly promotions to create the excitement.

3) Earn as many badges as possible. It will create good impression as a leader. I myself always compete with my upline to get more badges. Badges will reflect how active you are in this business in all aspect. (Action speaks louder than words)

4) Be available to my team (through call/mail) when they need my help. But I will make sure I'm not spoon-feeding them in any way.

5) Wish them on special occasions and make them feel good and comfortable.

6) Help my affiliates with special tips, especially when they are in the middle of some qualification.

Just make sure there is no communication gap between you and your downline affiliates.

Developing trust in a team is not an overnight task. It takes time to build a close relationship. The team leader must constantly communicate with his downline and be there for them. Generally, I’ll send a message to my team at least once a week.

By just asking “How may I help you?” or “How can I help you?” you are showing that you are concern about them. You’re not just treating them as business partner but you are going beyond the normal support one can expect in the business world. A prompt answer to their message is a very important key in developing trust. I congratulate and reward them for their achievements. For a year, all of my PSAs who will achieve EA, I’ll reward them 5 Affiliates and for renewing to EA2 or becoming a Team Leader, I’ll send them Gift Certificate and a place in S-Builder Co-op.

Trust is a very important component in any type of relationship. In SFI it is no different. You can develop trust with you affiliates and get them to follow your leadership by:

1. Being an honest leader. An honest leader will empathize with his affiliates and not pretend as if he started out earning a lot of money.

2.Portraying patience - A patient leader will find that his affiliates will be encouraged to continue even when they did not start out on the right footing and sooner or later they will start investing not only time but money.

3.Commitment to SFI - when affiliates see that their leader logs in everyday to complete daily tasks then they will no doubt follow suit. Affiliates want to know that their leader is there with them all the way. When this bond of trust develops then leadership becomes very easy.

Remember: Trust is not just earned in one day. It is earned over time by building and maintaining relationships that is by establishing truthful connection with your affiliates.

Building trust takes a long time to earn and also requires effort, persistence, and character. You can do this by starting communicating with them. Make friends with your affiliates and try to get to know them. Ask them questions as if you were childhood friends. Let them know who you are, what you do in life and how you succeed in the business. Give them advice and inspiring tips on how to be sucessfull not only in business matters but also in other aspects of life. If they ask you questions, try to answer them to the best of your knowledge. The important thing is be honest with what you are saying to your affiliates.

Also, let them know you are grateful and thankful that they are part of your team. That the success of your team depends on them. As in other aspects of life, developing trust with your SFI affiliates (downlines) and getting them believe in your leadership takes time and could be accomplished in the following ways:
1.) Communicate with them in a professional and courteous manner. You can elicit their interest to cooperate with you if you deal with them nicely and politely. Try to picture out yourself in their shoes.
2.) Don’t promise to them what you cannot fulfill just because you just want to get their attention and interest. If you hold a contest with your affiliates, be sure that you have the prizes that you have promised them to give once they comply with your contest requirements.
3.) Be consistent in communicating with them in terms of duration intervals, say once or twice a week, 2 times a month, monthly or if you think the information is urgent for you to let them know immediately. This consistent communication connotes your sincerity in SFI business, much more of your interest in your affiliates welfare and success.
4.) Lead them by example. Refer them to your leadership page where they could see the various SFI badges that you have been awarded by SFI through your efforts and persistence. Looking at your SFI badges obtained, your enthusiasm in SFI business will be reflected on them.

Realize that although all of us joined SFI with the ultimate objective of monetizing our efforts, we don’t have the same opportunities or resources to expand our SFI business.
