Target market is one of the key ingredient of a successful advertising. There are two elements of Target market.

1. You must clearly define the group of people that you want to target.

For our SFI business there are certain characteristics of people that we want.
a) Those people that are keen to online earning opportunities.
b) People who are fond of penny auction.
c) People who are involved in network marketing.
d) People who have done purchases online, either through Paypal or Credit Cards

These are the types of people that when they see the big potential of SFI will bring your SFI business to the highest level.

2. We must know where to find them

After we define the target people we want to be our SFI affiliates, the next question is where do we find them?

Here are the things that I done and I suggest that you also do.
a) From your network of relationships (friends and relative)- List down the names of those people that who know who have the characteristics above.
b) Forum - usually people who have the same interest will join in a forum where there interest are discussed. Use the search engines like Google to find this forum. Example search for "Earning Online Forum".
c) Face Book Groups - Join groups in Facebook that are related to earning online. Again just type the keywords in the FB search bar. When the author of this answer is revealed you can ask me for the list of groups that you can join,
d) Twitter - again type the keywords in the search bar of twitter and you will start finding people twitting your keywords. Start following them then soon they will follow you back.
e) Demographically, we have a high chance of getting people who have done online purchases from US, Europe and Australia. Most of them have credit cards. In Face Book its easy to find them once you join a group, you can identify them by their family names and pictures. Start commenting on their post to engage them in a conversation.
f) In PTC's most of the people who are joining there are keen on earning online.

Before you can target the groups you have to find them or build them on your social sites. You can find groups by:

1. Googling your passions, then joining the group and being an active member.
2. Set up groups in facebook, pinterest, linkedin and any other social site, that meet your interests and become an involved owner.

Advertising is most often the most daunting part of any business. You know you have a great product, but you are not sure how to present it to people in an acceptable or more importantly exciting manner.
Personally, I'm a bit of a novice myself. Still, I would like to share whatever little knowledge I have.

1. IDENTIFYING YOUR TARGET AUDIENCE
The most important part of advertising is to figure out, who do you want to talk to. This will decide everything about your advertising. Right from the colors to the language will be based upon your target audience. For example, if you are marketing Tripleclicks to housewives and small business owners, your approach will obviously be poles apart.

2. UNDERSTANDING THE NEEDS
Any successful marketing/advertising campaign will always address the needs of its audience. We only buy into things that we need (or we are made to believe that we need them). 3. MATCHING THE NEEDS
Since, you now understand their needs, you can figure out, how your product or service satisfies those needs. Highlight those aspects of your product/service. These are going to form the key element of your advertising.

For example, if you are trying to target housewives, a search for "shopping" on google will probably be better than searching for "online business". Go to these websites and see how you can place your ads with them.

Visit blogs that relate to what you are doing. Post a kind response to the articles without advertising or selling. Many blogs will allow you to include a link to your blog or website. When you do this you have a chance of getting some of the traffic from that site.

Use online programs such as Google Adsense. You can target your audience by advertising on select web sites that relate to your product and service. There are other websites that offer advertising as well and you can use the same approach. Some sites have their own advertising campaigns and offer a login so you can set them up on their site. Take your time and simply search the web.

You can also seek out classified ad sites. Remember to make your ads unique otherwise it will get buried among the countless other ads with the same or similiar information. Don't use common words, make your ad unique so it sticks out. Use a Thesaurus and find words with the same meaning you want to express that are not common. Remember, 1,000 people can put the same type of ad on that site, if yours is the same as all the others guess what? It's like finding a needle in a haystack.

Make your ads stick out, whether you are making text links, banner ads or image ads, use the right buzz words that will appeal to a wide audience. For example, people like to save time and money so use that approach. Why do people want to come to your store rather than the others? Make yours unique and catchy. Take time to learn the buzz words that attract people.

Targeting your advertisement to certain group of people probably "network marketers" could depend on the medium you want to use for the placing the advertisement. I know for one that majority of the internet business or home based business forums on the internet have categories for placing adverts for targeted group of persons.

For example, if you want to place adverts for health related topics, you could access the health/wellness category of such forums thereby targeting at people that are really interested about health issues in that forum.

Another way is, if you have a professional website ( I mean a paid domain name and hosting) and your website is based on a particular niche, probably home based business or affiliate marketing as the case may be, you can optimize your web pages using researched keywords pertaining to the targeted persons you want to attract to your website.

When your website is well ranked among search engines, and such persons search for related keywords in your websites, your website could be among the first set that will be displayed in the search engines result. And this could lead to attracting a lot of visitors to your website and probably get some prospective customers.
