Dear SFI family,

Splash Page may not be the good idea to promote SFI because the "Website that increases page load time, encourages people to leave the site."

If you use a Splash Page, the purpose of this should be:

A). To set a mood for the rest of the site or reinforce a brand.
B). It usually consists of an eye-catching graphic and little or no actual content.
C). Like a book cover, the splash page is designed to intrigue visitors and entice them to enter the site and learn more.
D). Add "Click Here To Enter" link in the page as the visitors new to the Internet may not understand that they're supposed to click on the graphic to enter the site; a text link removes any question. It also gives visitors the chance to click past the Splash Page instead of waiting for the image to load completely.
E). Optimize Graphics file size to decrease the time to taken to load the Splash Page.

Try to make it as minimal as possible. I have seen, couple of days ago, a transparent splash popup, in stead of a whole spalsh page, in the web page of an high level internet marketer that maked me stay on the page. (I'm not going to give you the link for obvious reasons) The idea is to get the "lost" attention of who is exiting your page more than a normal splash page, because a transparent popup in difficoult to read and they'll want to do it. A good Idea is to do someting like the first banner of SFI but all transparent...aswell the letters...the people is going to be able to read it only moooving the page on the bottom up and down. At list you'll get the attention! What to write in the popup is depending on the content site and on the targetting you are doing to get the traffic to your website. ciao

A picture speaks a 1000 words. I would definitely use a graphic image on the number of individuals from all parts of the world joining SFI on a daily basis. Effective Design:
1. Redirect Repeat Visitors: Instead of relying on repeat visitors to bookmark your site's internal pages, set a cookie on the user's computer that indicates the user has already seen the splash page. Then, include a script on the splash page; have it check for the cookie and direct the visitor immediately to the home page if a cookie is present.

"Click To Enter" link: Always use a "Click To Enter" link on the page. First of all a splash page is nothing but a page that is seen by the users before they actually see the main content of the website..Usually splash page is used to instruct the user what kind of flash player or browser they need , to read the rest of the content of the website...That is its like a door to your website...It is also used to encourage the users and create an urge to see the rest of the content of the website..In short, the splash page makes the first impression of your website.. "First impression is the best impression", we all know that.. So the better the splash page ,the better the traffic to your website...

Also i would like to warn you that splash pages can be annoying, and often not needed. Think about why you want it. Is it because everyone else's site has one, and you think it looks cool? If so then don't get one. Is it because you need to give visitors important information? Then it is best for you to add it. Remember, splash pages slows down the user, and it can create a negative effect to have one when it's not needed.

Now i would like to explain, how to design the splash page effectively..

1. If you do not want to spend money for creating a good splash page, then keep it real simple with some attractive photos(relevant to the content) and the links to see the rest of the content of your website..When the users click the links they can explore your website.. Or else you can directly take the users into the content through the splash page by setting up a timer( the timer must be large enough for the users to see it and placed at center of the page)..So the users will be watching the timer and do not care about the rest of the splash page design..

2.If you want to create a good,attractive splash page,the following answer if for you..
Creating an effective splash page needs knowledge of HTML,CSS(cascading style sheet)and some basic Java Script..I am not going to go deep on how to create a splash page because the question is how to effectively design(decorate, though it also means create) it and moreover the creation involves so many html and java codes which are difficult to type here and it will also bore you(big time)...

Splash Designs:
1. First of all give a good header(title) to the page that is relevant to the content..
2. All the details in the page must be relevant to the content and must create an urge to see the rest of the content..
3. Use attractive colors(pleasant colors) and not many dark colors which will irritate the eyes(and eventually your customer)..
4. Use videos(short and relevant because it may waste the user's time) and pleasant music or sounds so as to glue the users to your site..
5. Attractive , good photos have to be included..
6. Links to your other websites can be added which are relevant to the content displayed in the splash page..
7. Gateways can be added for join your team(like in SFI or TC)..
8. Your ECA can be advertised ..

Similarly you can add all the details you want .. But keep it short and simple because the users click the link to your splash page to see the content of that website and not your ad campaign..So the loading time to display your website content must be kept very short otherwise they will move away..

The key to an effective splash page, or any advertising for that matter, is to brand yourself.

People will only join you if they trust you. Major corporations fiercely protect their brands, and so should you. Assume anything you put out there is seen by everyone. Maintain yourself in a professional manner.

As far as splash pages specifically, first make sure you have the branding (a picture of you.) Get a domain name, ideally with your name; that looks more professional than the affiliate domains you get. Just give them enough information to make them want to learn more. The splash page is like your elevator speech, get them to want to go to your website to get the details.

Hmm, Do you know SFI has it's own splash page? I do not make things complicated and I use tools already given to me. I use the one in the marketing tab (https://www.sfimg.com/Resources/OppSplashPage). It works as well as any of them. Splash pages are good for getting attention and making people Curious. I have mine up on my free site that I made, it has it's own page that I direct people to and it links to my First sfi Page (http://www.sfi4.com/your Sfi Id/First).

I have seen results of these 2 pages and I receive about a 30 percent click thru So 3 out of every ten that visit.

Great question as so many of us are using these in our advertising.

We've heard mention of the K.I.S.S. system in the forum lately. K.I.S.S. means Keep It Simple Stupid.

I really believe that this is the best advise I would give any one designing a splash page. To many times you come across pages that are so cluttered it makes it very difficult to read. I close out of these very quickly.

I think all you need is 3 items.

1. The question. (Do you need extra cash?) (or something along those lines)

2. A few quick Statistics. (Read Gery's New Year Message)

3. A Call for Action. (Sign up Now)

Obviously all the examples above need a bit of tweaking.

This is especially important if you're using traffic exchanges where the splash page is only shown for a few seconds. You need to grab peoples attention real quick in that instance.

Don't go mad with graphics, sounds or even videos on a splash page, chances are they won't even have time to load before the next ad appears. Save these for your website.
