First of all segregate those who work or want to work from the others and focus on them, help them support them. This can be done by:
1.Communicating them regularly and positively and timely responding their mails.
2.Inviting them to participate in advertising coop of your team.
3.Giving them a share in S Builder Coop or asking them to buy it.
4.Rewarding them gift certificates for encouragement.
5.Increasing their knowledge regarding SFI and teach them the how to marketing.
6.You can also suscribe IAHBE for them if they are dedicated to learn and try hand at advertising.
This all efforts can be enough for the one who is interested in developing and might find other ways on his own.

All the leaders at SFI have to face this as universal problem...!! At the outset explain them the secrets of Internet Marketing. Then explain them the importance of lining up a meaningful traffic on to their website. An Online business without huge traffic is opening and running a huge Mall without any substantial number of step-ins (Potential customers).
Advertising helps in reaching and directing that flow of potential prospects to our website and do the necessary pre-sales talk. Because once the potential customer has clicked in then we are there to take care of their dat to day needs.

Many have the same problem and you are not alone with it. I think you should focus more on your downlines that are working like you do. You can't make everyone work the way that you do but you should motivate those who have the interest to stay in this business and wants to succeed.
I try to get my downline to understand first of all why they are here. If they have a primary goal, I then ask them how would they achieve it without doing any advertising.I also Send weekly newsletters and offer my service, plus reminding them of my REWARDS SYSTEM.
The best way would be to go to your leadership page and add an incentive/contest make it for 20 affiliates that someone has to get in order to win the contest and I would put the prize for a $10 gift certificate.
a) They have an Executive Affiliate status; if not, then I would encourage them to get as much points by doing the To-Do-List.
b) An EA has active memberships in TripleClicks and A2A since it's totally free.
c) An EA has at least a membership in W3, since this is the least costly and would encourage him/her to participate in advertising things to sell and joining auctions.
Having done the above now you've got near-quality EAs. For the rest of your non-quality EAs you can put tag them as so (inactive) but send them regular messages to encourage them to step up.

Your ultimate goal is to create a copy of yourself in your affiliate/s. Second very important thing is to identify which affiliate/s are geared towards success and concentrate more on them. Give them tips on how, where and when to advertise. As for the non-performers, reminders from time to time will be appropriate. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink. All you can do is show them the way, set a good example and continue to support them any way you can. The rest is up to them. If they want to treat SFI like a business, they will, if they don't, they won't.
All we as sponsors can do is try to practice what we preach and lead the way.

Remind them that they have a FREE website and a FREE learning opportunity to make a monthly income online.Let them take the time they need (half an hour or so a day) and most of all teach them how to get people to their own website for FREE with Free classified adds.
Teach them your methods in getting affiliates with paid advertising that really work. Only then they will know that SFI is for real.
