All be it that I have tried the Google Translate method, I find that this is not always accurate enough
to get the meaning correct.

If your member dont speak your language and you dont know his language the best way is to download the aplication translate or you can go at google translate.
I do so whit my members which don't speak my or english language you have many translate aplication you can use to comunicate whit your members who dont speak your language
The best way is to learn the languages! It's fun! Learn Spanish, because Spanish is used in most of Latin America, Spain, Philippines, Equatorial Guinea e.t.c. Learn French, it's spoken in most of Africa, France or Quebec. Or maybe Russian, Russian is spoken in most of ex Soviet Union countries, it is a big part of the world. Or learn Mandarin, Hindi, Urdu. For lazy ones Google Translator is a great help. Also suggest the use of translator in the low right corner of every page.

I struggled with this very same issue until it occurred to me, most major countries/ languages have a regional translation service on the Internet. On top of that, SFI has translation service of it's own and there is google translate.
I also love to make sure that I look at my referral's primary language just to ensure I am communicating effectively.
For example: if my PSA is from Russia and the primary language displayed on their profile says English then I make sure to communicate with the specific PSA in English, likewise, if the PSA is from Spain and the primary language is Spanish, then that Spanish Speaking PSA will get me to send them letters in Spanish.
