This is a good question. I think that both are important.
If you can recruit from your own country and the language is the same, it will be easier to communicate and to give specific instruction. Your family, friends, one-on-one etc. are the easiest to train, since it would be hands-on.
However, SFI is a worldwide company. If you recruit from more countries you will have even more expansion available to you Most people can have their own language interpreted on the SFI site or www.google.com/translate. You can have a2a friends in other countries to help with specific situations. You can ask questions on the Forum, here at ASK SC, your upline sponsors and Geri Carson himself.

Your team is a veritable tool to actualizing your SFI dream and is something that should be taken very seriously. However, events have proven that prospecting affiliates close by stand a better chance at success than from far away. It is a good way to start anyway, but should not be the only way.
It is never good to put all your eggs in a basket. Consider countries like Nepal, Philippines that suffered devastating earthquakes or countries that suffered from financial meltdown. Consider the losses that could have resulted from such occurrences and then see the wisdom of having a global business.
With affiliates from around the world, helping to build your business, earthquakes, blizzards, hurricanes or financial recessions in a country can not affect your business. You'll also be making money as you sleep, that is, making money around the clock.
You can begin prospecting people to become affiliates from your country and then go global.

While it's good that you want to recruit affiliates from your homeland, that's only one slice of the pie. Think about the rest of the pie (i.e., the world) that wants to get in the stomach of SFI. Market the company to anybody from every country you can think of, so that they may also sink their teeth into that tasty business pie.
I apologize for the food analogy, but hopefully this will help you find prospects in the world who are as hungry as you are for success.

You can prospect people from everywhere based on SFI being an international company. If your own personal prospecting comfort zone is interacting with people from your own country to promote SFI then prospect from your own country. If you have prospecting skills to interact with others from everywhere, then build your global SFI business.
Prospecting in the sense of recruiting requires people skills and effectively being able to communicate and work with another person. So when you are deciding how to prospect an affiliate, remember you should be able to communicate, lead and grow that affiliate you prospected in your SFI business you are building by prospecting others.

I would say go everywhere and that include your country.SFI has provided its affiliates with the mechanism and the tools to prospect anywhere for PSA's.However the important fact here is the quality of those prospects.There are good (movers) as well as bad (whiners) prospects around the globe and if you advertise aggressively you will pick up some rough diamonds along the way that will generate an excellent income for you.Remember the important aspect here is to build your SFI affiliate business and to succeed, you must have a plan,passion for success,be focused,take action and the most important look out for those rough diamonds.My conclusion to your question is, go everywhere but,go for quality and less quantity.

The SFI is international, the Internet is practically limitless, so why limit yourself? Of course, recruiting local affiliates can be easier and work with them too, but prospecting for affiliates worldwide is fun, gives you a whole lot of different perspectives, makes you sharpen your language skills and widens the net significantly. Also, as the statistics are, like, one active PSA in every hundred or so, you will need to prospect high and low to gather real workers to your team.
Local and international team members will have different perspective gives and will provide growth to your business.
Ultimately it is what you are interested in and what you're comfortable working with.
SFI is successful when the work is done in collaboration and consider the fact that whn you're asleep your team member in a different country and time zone is working to promote SFI thus you continue to benefit from growth while asleep as you do for them.

I am not for long time in SFI and I prospected from many many countries and my best PSAs are not from my own country, not because they wouldn't do a good job, but the number of people from my country here on SFI is not that big.
The more people you prospect, the more chances you have and you never know where from the good results will come.

In my personal opinion should be considered both options. We can not place limitations since we live in a globalized world thanks to advances in telecommunications and the Internet. The language barrier solve it using a good translator such as Google. SFI structure is global, offering different tools to support all its members in training, advertising and marketing of their products. Naturally we started revealing SFI to our family environment, colleagues and friends. Let's say that is easier by the language, culture and the ability to explain the business face to face and respond expeditiously any question that they want to do. In this case we would have a limited number of new prospects. If we have a broader business then we have to support us in cyberspace and explore the big ocean that is the Internet and throw the net in those niches where people are looking for opportunities to achieve financial freedom and a better quality of life. For this we are not alone, behind us is SFI with 17 years of success and know-how to our disposal. I have 7 years exploring the options of internet and I do not really know any other online company that is compared with SFI.
