You just keep swimming - I mean bidding - you just keep bidding, until nobody else bids after you.

Why did I use the word "swimming" near the start of the previous sentence instead of the word "bidding"?

Have you seen the animated movie Finding Nemo? An overprotective daddy fish named Marlin goes on a quest to find his abducted son Nemo. Another fish accompanies him - Dory. Dory is a delightful scatter-brain, but makes perfect sense with her chant of "Just keep swimming. Just keep swimming."

Believe that if you just "keep swimming" you will win. If you don't give up, you will find your Nemo.

That all said, however, you don't want to be sidetracked into mini-adventures that distract you from the prize. Swim through open and clear water rather, than through a smack of jellyfish. Look for the clues rather, like Marlin and Dory did on their way to finding Nemo, and make use of those clues to ultimately find what you want. What do you want? You don't want the item that is up for auction to cost less than what you spend to win it.

Simply watch a Micro auction or two, perhaps even three or more, for a while.

Open up the bid logs on several Micro auctions. Watch and take notes. Who usually wins? Somebody who started bidding early, or somebody who started bidding late?

Look at the history of the price of winning bids for that item - an easy way to do this is to visit the Pick the Price game page.

Decide on how many TCredits you want to use. Understand that the Micro auctions are for small amounts of TCredits, PSAs or CSAs. Work out the value of the item compared to the cost of your TCredits you plan to use for bidding. You may of course have earned or won your TCredits so they may have not cost you much or even anything at all.

Then start swimming - er, bidding. And after you start? Find Nemo - just keep swimming.

Micro auctions are newly introduced to SFI with lots of scope.
As the name suggest "MICRO", these are the small auction means the price and quantity of item is low. Here the auction duration is also low.So this is a great advantage to win because winning bid ends at low due to low actual price.

To win in these auction one should follow these simple things

1)Dont bid initially and wait for someone to bid as you can get more time to place your bid and you can save your Tcredit also.

2)Dont bid untill there are little or one participant remaining other than you.

3)Wait upto last time because any other person may bid . So you can save a Tcredit each time.

Micro Auctions are the best way to learn the art of participating in auctions. These auctions are meant for the bidders with less than 9 wins. So, the number of people participating is less. Also, the items placed for auctions are of micro size like the name micro auction, hence, less people participate in these auctions.

Usually a micro auction ends in about 30 mins on average. [This is my experience and not a fact.]
So, you don't have to spend a lot of time. Wait for the auction to reach a point when only two bidders are bidding in the auction. [On the right hand side you can use the option - open bid log for this purpose.] Now, either wait for the timer to count down till 0:00 then bid after it displays "going twice". Might be others would also bid after you but in a micro auction, the chances of winning in this way are high due to low actual cost of auction items. Or if you have enough TCredits then keep bidding till you win.

The best strategy for winning auction is to be the dominant participant.
Do not wait the last seconds for bidding. Be strong, persistent, let the others think
you will not give up. In my opinion this is the psychology of winning this auctions.

Determine your entry and exit strategy. This mean you have to know when you will start bidding, how many TCredits are you ready to spend, and you have to determine how much you are ready to pay if you win the auction.

I name you with name and surname out of respect - South African way - I am an winner at Pricebenders auction maybe the 8th time, but I use timing when ever I want to bid at a auction I try once if there is a lot of competitors I stop and check the next one and so on until the next day or month, if I see I go until the once twice count down and then I try again if until I am beaten. I won the Domain , 35 CSA's , and Yesterday 50 CSA's Pricebenders auction it was like a walk walk in the park almost the only bidder -won with $0.18 ...-It was small but I am getting there , this is only a few I can name but please have timing read the tips that they give you and check the time you auction at

Hi, first of all Micro auctions are here for our new members to experience winning such a competition. Basically the process is same as regular auction, the only difference is that Micro auctions are smaller by quantity. For example, the regular auction is 50 PSA's and the micro auction will be 1 PSA. How to win one ? Winning is the same as regular auction only it lasts shorter, it takes less tCredit's spent, it's much more easier to win and micro auctions are made for the member who have never won to be able to feel how it is to win the auction! It can be up to 12 micro auctions per day, so another way for supporting new members and encourage them in the future!

I love this question because I just won my first Micro auction. I won 20 TCredits for 6 cents using only 1 TCredit. I would love to tell you that it was my brilliant bidding skill but I was lucky. I think one factor in my winning was that the bidding time is so much shorter. Most people who bid in the auctions are used to the longer bidding time and think that they have enough time to do something else after placing their bid.
I was surprised by my win because it had been months since my last win. If I can win, you can too so go pick an auction and have some fun.
